They dance and sing a merry tune
They sparkle with life, death immune
They shine like the most precious jewel
They choke my words, commanding and cool.
My jaw seems locked, lost for speech
My thoughts are cryptic, impossible to reach
My heady head bunged with clouds
My heart so heavy, a beating shroud.
An unsullied spring of purest blue
A cascade of beauty obviously true
A blink and a wink the dream has been slain
Another glimpse and I'm frozen again.

Bandicoot's bounce over my dead lead head.
Grim the outlook,
I am the grimness in my own storybook.
Moods are my mannerism's.
Gooey nose - a stonking flu
got me
now I mimic a monkey
with my bullhorn blowing.
When will the sun rise my eyes?
Blighted by sniffles, I dizzy and sway
to the 'Drug Mart', there to gag and goggle;
at so many meds for a bunged-up head.
Handfuls of hope
back to the laze-upon floozy chair
guzzling pills a popping.
Later, write this,
mayhap get pissed on some bitter brew.
Bandicoot's snoring.
A little peckish.
Here a glimmer
there it is, the shiny light,
feeling svelte in a sky bright blue.
Sniffing better, sleep later.

I'm bunged up.
I need a filter for my gutter.
My bone-headed Doctor
reckons I don't eat right
but 'Little Debbie' Donuts are my delight
as I binge-watch re-runs of Game of Thrones.
Blood, gore, and sugar -
but i'm stuffed
and must take the cure.
Now I dare not stray far from my own
porcelain throne.

languid doldrums, swaying lanyard, sails hanging loose
dreary small drums reverberate, neurons dumbing down
nerve ends fuse, sunlit shadows depict my numbing frown
feelings grind dull, thoughts stranded in the dangling sluice
sudden intermittent draught, strengthening breeze
mind and body free-falling, spontaneous pressure
sinews stretch, skin on skin, pulsating probing pleasure
senses tingle, tickling laugh, lengthening squeeze
breathe in deep, sniff olfactory aroma drift
gustatory tasting plates licked and tongued
erotic amalgam squished and belly-bunged
nostrils flare, exotic pungent odour whiffed
cavort, canoodle, drooling lips, flavours of the beast
rhythms rise where delirious frenzy can often be
harmonic screaming near the edge of cacophony
weave distorted images, dream-dancing above the feast
fleers, seekers, washed-up innocent sinning on the beach
subdividers and King Canute howling at the wind
viral loads onboard, invisible invaders grinned
collective cowardice casts the truth spinning out of reach

Unleash
Unleash the hounds
Unleash the hounds, said Jones and frowned,
His wife was then escaping,
Running off with grandpa Joesy Brown,
And his bloody teeth were shaking,
Sprang in the swamp a Croc. did chomp,
I’ll talk about it later,
Jonesy’s wife, was on for a romp,
Was she a hot potater?
Toothless now the Croc. said “how.
Will I be masticating,
Tin leg bunged up me teeth for chow,
Me union rep. is waiting,”
On bended knee, Jones saw she,
An he started wailing,
She put him out of misery ,
Great love, sure is unfailing.

The snot monster’s got me
He’s inside my head
I shouldn’t be working
But home in my bed
I’m sniffing and snuffling
And blowing my nose
I’m trying to hang on
Till the snot monster goes
The snot monster’s got me
I’m feeling so grotty
It’s hard doing work
When you’re bunged up and snotty
As I sit here and cough
And I shiver and shake
I am wondering just
How much more I can take
The aches are subsiding
The coughing has eased
I was getting quite miffed
About being teased
Remarks about man flu
Drove me round the bend
So I’m pleased to announce
I’ve infected my friend
