Gust of wind lashing and it's pouring down;
Storm water runs off the deserted roads.
A swift rider going from the downtown,
Bearing safely the most delicious loads
For orders, kicks his heels at the canteen.
Collecting the silver foil packs of food,
Setting directions on his mobile screen,
Reaches drop off points in a cheerful mood.
Waggles here and there like a busy bee
When will the guy return to his own flat?
May be at odd hours, but no guarantee
Serving his patrons, he always aims at.
Brings home the bacon, the Courier Boy
Assures his family a hope and joy!

There's a chef in my mind
That does all the cooking
Mixing words into rhyme
Brings home the bacon
Changes up recipes
Stirring freely
In and out of the pan
With poetic ease
If it's not to his taste
He spices it up
Broiled, fried, or baked
Poems served up for lunch
It's like he's on a mission
Always in my kitchen
Trying new recipes out
On whoever will listen
The chef in my mind
That does all the cooking
Mixing words into rhyme
Brings home the bacon
There he goes again, takin’ off on that stud
I know he’ll come back all covered in mud.
It kills me, seein’ him leave
I’m afraid he’ll get hurt even though I know he’s not naïve.
He tells me he thinks about me while sittin’ ‘round the fire eatin’ beans
So then why does he still head out there by all means?
Herdin’ those cattle and movin’ them from town to town
Brings home the bacon, but always seems to get me down.
Seein’ my Cowboy leave breaks my heart
But when he arrives home I’m ‘specially happy we are no longer apart.
I hear his boots tiredly walkin’ up to the door
And just that alone makes me giddy galore.
I know it sounds absolutely silly
But holdin’ those rough chapped hands sure makes me happy.
When he smiles at me his nose crinkles
And I see that the long tough days have given him wrinkles.
It’s crazy how much he has changed
But I know he is still the amazin’ man I engaged.
at times a man is driven
to better himself and make big ching
to flex what his brain has to offer
so he can provide the wife with all the bling
sometimes a man grows frustrated
for it seems no matter how he tries
the cheeseburger in his life
always comes with cold french fries
yet a true man learns to recognize
that there is more to satisfaction than big ching
recognition for ones' best efforts
is what makes a man's heart truly sing
so when he brings home the bacon
the wife will make his bread doe rise
and if things aren't perfect for his lady
she proceeds to simply nuke those cold french fries
