A quaint, one room, busy place,
Full of good old southern grace,
Lay to the east of Hawthorn Hill,
Somewhat beyond the daffodills.
Over a field and past the cows,
Beneath the deep magnolia boughs;
Beside smooth, clear Crab Creek,
In the shadow of Cheyenne Peak;
Down a tree lined country lane,
Stood the school of Miss Chamberlain.
Here in not such long ago times,
Tykes learned the nursery rhymes;
About a mile from Blackburn Highway,
If you but follow the sun ray.
Besides English, Reading and History--
Eager minds also grasped Rome's glory!
An outstanding nation is our own,
At birth, each future is unknown.
But in said remote, country school,
A future president learned the Golden Rule;
About ten miles south of Chesterton,
Somewhat east of the rising sun.

OFFICE POLITICS OF A HUMPBACK WHALE
I can think of so many words to call that *****!
But I’m better than that, so I’ll just stick with *****!
All the money in the world won’t make her nice,
It won’t give her friends as they come with a price.
She has no manners and she really is quite dumb,
In fact she’s incompetent, from 1 to 10 she’s a zero sum!
She thinks she’s superior…. why? Because she’s rich?
Let’s take away the money and what’s left is a dumb *****.
She will still have no manners, and certainly no friends.
Because she can’t afford to buy them, she’s alone in the end.
So as 2017 closes and I’m summing up my life
I will give no more energy to that *****, the bosses wife!
I’m fully rested and recharged, and beating my own drum.
And a promise to 2018, WATCH OUT! HERE I COME!

A Son's Tribute (spoken at my Dad's Funeral)
A quiet man,
A family man,
A proud to be a father man.
A handy man,
A lively man,
Not known to be a dandy man.
A humble man,
Clear thinking man,
A need to know what's what man.
A warm man,
An organized man,
A man who had a plan, man.
A sailing man,
A camping man,
I'll do it as I said I would man.
A fair man,
An I'll be there man,
I'll help you if I can man.
A deep man,
A neat man,
A standards keep us straight man.
A thinking man,
Light drinking man,
I have responsibilities man.
A technical man,
Get things done man,
A lovely to see him smile man.
A husband man,
Love my family man,
I'll be there when it matters man.
A brother man,
An Uncle man,
A wonderful Grandad all these years man.
A Blackburn man,
A Lancashire man,
Without a northern accent man.
A Rovers fan,
Real football man,
Legendary goalie in his time man.
A gentle man,
A driving man,
Keep going till we get there man.
A homely man,
Come on in, kind of man,
And now, in our hearts and minds man.
A lovely man,
A loving man,
I'd like to go on, but I don't think I can...

Stewart’s accident almost amputated his leg,
So now he’s a para-shooter from Bacup,
Which is a town in Lancashire, English peg,
He trains at Blackburn RPC to rise up.
In Glasgow’s Commonwealth Games 2014,
He came fifth and was chosen for Rio,
He was born on the 2nd day of July in 1966,
And model making is his top hobby, bio.
