Russet Moon

Russet Moon

The moon tonight had a promise
of turning russet
When I looked up, the moon was
full and yellow and had a smile
on a round happy face
What can I say? Was I too late to
See what Planet Watchers had
longed for
Since from the kitchen window
It was the best place to observe
The moon, I made a cheese sarnie
and a glass of low-fat milk.

Happy 40th birthday

Keeto the apple of my eye,
Centre of attraction, smart yet shy,
The little diamond - handsome and naughty,
A new milestone- my baby prince turns 40!

Creeping into mom and my heart,
Always loved and admired though far apart,
Champion in golf, colorful in art,
Keeto! My little star is class apart!!

Full of empathy and very humble,
Smart and stunning, yet so simple,
With soft blue eyes that always sparkle,
With a cute smile he flashes those dimples!

Exemplary and radiant like the sun,
Keeto my precious gem is second to none,
Versatile and talented rolled into one,
Admired, cherished, adored & envied by everyone.

Born from my heart, to my mum he is a son,
Shining bright like the midnight sun ,
He is a superstar, pumpkin photo award he won,
He is extra ordinary , my scottish little one..

Reaching a new milestone, on a new journey he embarks,
Leaving his footprints on different landmarks,
With exuberance he defines benchmarks,
Well aware ,CEO position for him is earmarked

On his Ruby Jubilee today,
Mom and Rima from far away,
From our hearts where he stays,
We shout loud Keeto Happy Birthday!!!

Premium MemberHappy 16th Birthday Bonnie

My Bonnie lass is sixteen now
Her birthday is today.
And for a husky that is old
I’ve heard our young vet say.

My dear old dog, we love her so
And glad that she’s still here.
Her routine every day is set
She’s trained us well each year.

A pup who loved to go for walks
I’d let her off the lead.
She’d run about, and proved to be
An independent breed.

We’ve watched her grow, she has great style
A husky through and through.
She loves to have our company
We spoil her, that is true.

A better friend could never have
Such joy to us she brings.
Although she’s old, still has her life
That pulls on our heart’s strings.

The years have flown, her time is near
No longer can she play.
But now she’s turned sweet sixteen,
     “Bonnie Happy Birthday”.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, my blessed little Sister!
When we were young, Papa always called
You “Black Patti”! Now we know why:

A Senryu Quintet Tribute To “Black Patti (1868-1933): **
For My Sister, Sula “Black Patti” Baye (08/25/1943)

Water gives rivers life
I swanee, “Black Patti” gave
Life to the songs she sang:-

“Black Patti” felt that
Singing songs was to her, as
Sunshine to flowers:-

When “Black Patti” sang,
Flowers flooded world stages:
Concert Halls, sold out!

She was Mitilda
Sissieretta Jones: singing
Abolitionist!

Black Patti, rather
Than Adelina Patti, was
Their Era’s Greatest!

**When others sit down and do oursrorical research,
They will know why Papa gave you that honor. Go
And enjoy another blessed year, perpendicular to
Earth and Heaven. To God Be The Glory. In the
Onederful oneness of the onement of Extended
Family, Peace And Love, your favorite Brother,
       Deac.

One Year of You, Melissa

One Year of You, Melissa

One year ago, the stars began,
And heaven said, "She is mine."
A small spark, a breath so new,
The world was brighter all for you.

Your giggles flower like morning sun,
Your eyes, two stars that brightly shine.
Each step you take, each sound you make,
Turns average days awake.

You've taught us love in its pure form,
In warm fingers and sleepy sighs.
One smile, a coo so soft,
The world seems new with you.

We have witnessed you grow, in wonder, in awe,
Each step taken in love and law.
From lullabies to weeping whines,
You've filled our hearts, you've filled our skies.

Here's to you, our birthday star,
Our miracle, just as you are.
May grace and happiness be with you,
With oceans broad dreams to chase.

A single candle today, but, oh, the flame
It shines hope, it whispers your name.
Happy birthday, little dove,
You are our world, our limitless love.

MY BIRTHDAY PRAYERS

Father God Almighty
It's a new era for me
Thanks for all you do
Bless this era
So I don't repeat lessons
Let my problems be lessened.

Make a way
Where there seems to be none
For that's what you're known for
That's why I'm steadily relying on you
I need your reply
A speedy answer.

Do it your way
Before I try my way
So I don't go astray
So I won't fall
For the enemy as prey
For them to slay me
I pray to thee my father in heaven.
Happy magnificent and blissful birthday to my humble self.

Premium MemberAn Invisible Rose for Your Birthday

Yesterday was your birthday
Unfortunately, that was a busy day
However, I went to the garden
Of my heart this beautiful morning
Where I picked an invisible rose that could bring:
Happiness, joy, good humor and an early spring.

I shaved my beard and mustache to make your day
With all my heart, I wish you a happy birthday
Oh! I would like to charm you until nightfall
When the rainbow is no more in the fall
Toward another horizon, for another season
Please accept this rose, this poem, this song.

P.S. This poem is dedicated to my good friend.

Happy Birthday, Mom - Part XIII

When I learned how sick you became, I knew I had to pray.
If you hadn't died, we'd be celebrating your 77th birthday.
You are the reason why I exist.
You certainly have been missed.

You were born on the side of the road because the ambulance broke down.
You were my mother and I would be happier if you were still around.
You died and there was nothing I could do to stop it from happening.
You were always a terrific mother and I'm proud to be your offspring.

I had to accept your death but I wish you were still alive.
You had an abdominal aneurysm and you didn't survive.
The surgeon couldn't save your life even though he tried.
Today would've been your 77th birthday if you hadn't died.

[Dedicated to Agnes Johnson (1948-2013) who passed away on March 6, 2013]

Premium MemberWhy Celebrate Your Birthday

The famous saying is to "Thank God you seen another year
But there's more pains, aches and worries with more tears
Each year you're asking yourself what did i do with my life
Creating a bucket list and trying to make it right
If we're proud of aging then why have a midlife crises
Why do you have to become a senior to get a deal on prices
When you celebrate your birthday its like celebrating death
Losing your health and independence until there's nothing left
When your young it seems fun celebrating getting older
The laughing stops when life starts to feel much colder
We're born and enjoy life never wondering the purpose
This would always be the case because our life is imperfect
With each passing year you should prepare for the worse
Looking at this current generation under this curse
We're made from dust only to return to the ground
How does the song "Happy Birthday" sound to you now?

Happy Birthday

I saw it . . .
A golden morning sun,
Surfacing the crystalline ocean,
Hanging high beyond the foggy horizon,
It's my birthday!

Shadow I want to live in as unique and bright like a star

             6/10/2025

Dearest Cousin Yolanda~

Ponderings on our days so very long ago,
When we were the stars of our parents’ lifelong show.
How proud they were to have us at their side!

We were precious and cared for, like angels with sweet smiles
I saw you blossom from a charming, sweet, little girl.
Your mother loved and cared for you, like an expensive, shiny pearl.
I see you as the same diamond child that you once so happily were.

Love,
Cousin Pangiota
