Jaywalking

This is when the old and the young,
beasts and confraternal drunks
damn the consequences of death
lying porous on crossroads upon
bifurcated paths, fractured junctions
and ceremonial cul-de-sacs...

The time is immaterial,
so long as the traffic lights — the veggie-green,
the claret, and the urine-amber —choose their slow
blinking and rapid-eyelid movement carefully.
And moon might decide not to power its own light.
Tenebrous tracks then fill our eyes with the age of
sea monsters blinded by charcoal waves.
Need I hail the neon signs of bordellos!
And the city’s restless constellations!
They sparkle with rage and with the brio of rioting stars,
thus adding celestial films to our already overloaded eyes....
But that’s another story.

C’mon... we are no Deer or Asahel descendants!
Closely related to sloths, millipedes and snails,
we drag our feet, which in turn drag the volumes of
stupidity in us, aggravated by drams and midnight parties
held between a flowing weekend and a stagnant Thursday.

cha-cha twinz

.

           cha cha cha
               shuffle

              flirtatious
              cha-chaz
     and in the passionate
                  grip
           uv the music
             i mean the

               identical

At night, when I remember our love once more,
Us, stained by the shadow that glides in, trembling beneath the gentle star,
Held tight in embrace, like two nomads under the infinite vault of pigments,
Eternally swayed by the time's carousel, in the deep of the shadow we catch.
Asleep in the heavy veil of sleep, secret and profound,
We travel in spirit on primordial paths of lava,
Whispering eternally about the calm echo that gives peace to the heart,
In dreams, we sail on an azure sea that swallows us into the vast.
And there, on the thaumaturgic beach of uncertain dreams,
In the ignorance of tomorrow, of our bifurcated presence,
We wait for love to be the alchemist, spinning lead into gold,
Yet still together, still eternal, with the end always a step away.
Our love, a painting in the shadows of Caravaggio of souls,
Does not ask to be deciphered but dreams to fly without bounds,
And if we shall wander among the days, the love that bound us,
Will perish, not beneath the starry canvases, not under the celestial spark,
But will fade in our mistake of putting it to the test.

What happens is a bifurcated
fork, with fate's twin prongs.
You can prick with it,
or can be pricked by it.
The choice is yours!
Is that happenstance,
a chance happening?
Or did you make
the chance happen?

New Moon

apple cores bifurcated
maggoty realms
spilled over

long stems bled
a sluggish
green insemination

toward evening
small apes gathered
to scream at the
new moon

there were bones
to be split,
marrow to be scraped out
with stone spearheads

it was not the beginning
nor even the
end of the beginning

swamp waters
still bubbled up a choking miasma
of stale fertility

yet some
hunted a muddy earth
knuckles walking

a few agile brains
grew more alert
to upright visions

Premium MemberThe Times They Are Changing

Some friends say I do not understand
The new age we are purportedly living in
The tell me even language has changed
Frankly, I don’t know where to begin.
It seems my statistics are way out-of-date
My experience counts for almost nothing,
Seems like respect for things I cherished--
Like freedom of speech—is slowly dwindling
Political factions are at each other’s throats
Over cockamamy theories of dubious source
The most idiotic fame-seekers are elected
While the news is skewed and bifurcated
And everybody knows more than I forgot
Could it be my time has come to sit back
And listen, without offering any opinion?
I suspect so, but I cannot help but chuckle
At where this new generation is going.

Cheater and Cheator

Like two paynim peas in a pod,
their scurvy color
lipslick scheme is sour green

Got beady black eyes
scam shady —
A graft gaze that squints bifurcated focus
from hocus-pocus pupils;
whose tainted teal look-see, aperture con-fidence teach
a vulture view!

Crafty condor blinkers reflect
cunning thoughts
with a subtil snake-oil sheen

The scales of their subliminal deception
weighs silver speak fugazi
forge fraught
Cheating and conniving is the gold hush standard
of the blarney barker bling-bling

And cheator ear worms
dig every electromagnetic crypt-ic message
that the swindle Svengali sing-sing

Cabbage cheater chants
grow robber root rancor on the
dire dark,
underbelly dusk horizon

Them pickpocket pants,
pig feet parlance,
taste liquidity legume leper-con unlucky
on welsh rabbit tongues

Heavens

It has been low, dim, and heavy,
heavens part, light swoops onto open waters,
the overflow of recent torrents
glittering sky-fish skim.

Keep on driving as if the road were silver rails.
Right and left window worlds out of synch
peripherally bifurcated by speed.

The heavens part un-stitching fraying seams,
smudges unravel. Light pushes
into the open mouths of surface breathers.

The grey is rent, more light bounces off eyes;
it is a fast road; squint, grip the wheel tighter.

Left and right small animals un-plod
from the wet earth, hedgerows whisk thin colors
expose nestlings in their cradle hideaways.

Pick up a cup of instant noodles,
a 6-pack from the quickie mart.
On the lot heavens are opening
one acre at a time,
light lowers like a faded wedding gown
marbling concrete
dressing the cars in lacy.

Reach into condo, eat noodles, drink beer
while heavens knit together
with a last twinkle of silver needles.

Silence and Civility

The Covidlike phrase slithered into my consciousness,
coiled itself around unprotected prudence
and constricted.

Its bifurcated tongue touched the untouchable,
testing whisps of thought with darts of anger,
selecting venom’s next victim.

Overlapping scales pressed against prudence’s mouth,
squelching her response.

Logic attempted rescue--
came from all directions
seeking this unexpected foe,

while normal dissipated
like mist on a summer morn.

Each time I repeated the phrase
coils tightened,
making venom drip from fangs of desperation.

Confusion overflowed its cauldron,
spilling into and flooding the chamber of id.

I looked for escape--
a response to entice normal to return,
but found no words.

Change forced himself upon me,
overthrowing bastions of prejudice and privilege,
making me repeat his words,
“Silence is violence and civility, complicity.”

Blare Witness

Blow blarney bugle blow
The bogus sound waves echo
bifurcated notes
That hollow sting tone
has a subtil serpentine drone

Toot the tout timbre tune deceptively
Let the stealth vibrations
blare witness with utter bandit ease
This covetous instrument
was slyly carved from a money tree

When the heist horn blow,
those with adder ears
let their ostrich eyes close
Be a blind mice in the atmospheric mint maze,
have a deaf eardrum
to the brass burn rubber sound theft getaway

Blow blarney bugle blow
Carny breath allow the counterfeit air
to fraudulently cash flow
Soon every silent blare witness
will empty pockets know

Mirror Cause

Some cast their vote
for the loudest lungs that puff lira lies nonstop
Others marked their ballot
for the silver tongue that covet gold coins a lot

Some made an absentee choice
for the robbing eyes which hoodwinked hearts a-plenty
Others gave their elective wish
to the palm sticky hands which pilfered pockets a-many

Some believe the reason
for their practical appraisal selection
is quite different than others

Others feel the expressed persuasion
for their conferred representation
has the same pragmatic motive as some

Hear the mirror cause —
Different democratic strokes
paint the same Roman republic outcome

Rhetoric don’t pause ...
identical coin-flip sound bytes
Other clones next time is gonna campaign run

Mirror cause ... manufactured election slogan miracles:
the two-faced head spit shine rosy peddle tales
Donkey or elephant tongues ... cheerful color spin woes:
the bifurcated tails be on thorny crown heads

Pallet Walk

Forklift tongue ...
snaky false pallet walk
be a paralyzing pulse dead stop
Viper lung flung from the bottom rung,
slithering slyly to the bury top

Pentagram aborted delivery —
Fake salvation
is morgue bad news
bifurcated breath received

Cottonmouth spitting graveyard shifty
labor blues,
Exhaling extortion sin wage scale dues

Forklift tongue
belly rolls across a serpentine cargo corpse bay
Anaconda pallet walk
got a hangman’s boa rope choke swinging sway

Emphasis On the Extra G

When the river Niger
swiftly flowed into America,
business as usual
was auction conducted —
thru a Diablo Middle passage

Chain pain deals
being Faustian sealed,
on a Mississippi River Styx ferry steamboat

Dark body cargo,
ebony souls from the delta river Niger,
saw their muddy hopes
sinking ...
when they were laded
upon the Euro long ships like cattle

This Grand money-making scheme
was a Pharaoh’s dream:
Canyon coffers was bottomless widening,
as far as the naked eye could see

The leather-voiced whips
backside spoke to the river Niger sullen eyes
with cruel impunity —
Flicking bifurcated emphasis on the extra G

River Niger bosom willow woes
wept for godly intervention,
on behalf of their iron-ore idol interest

Having hateful others
place Gentile emphasis on the extra G
River Niger stolen children
were given
a scarlet letter derogatory word legacy

Machiavellian Machinations

Treachery is the coin of the covert realm,
gears within gears turning ...
Devious machinations, pure Machiavellian

Secrecy is the Shanghai shuffle speech
Tool and Die maker,
what instrument of inflection deception
will you darkly wield?

Skilled in the art of misdirection,
fake exit wounds
make a theatrical lead entrance

A surreptitious maze
of feint thought progression
Allied motility based on mutual scoundrel affinity

Chicanery is the Au crown weight of a silver shekel tongue,
wheels within wheels spinning ...
Mirage machinations: Shimmering works so Machiavellian

Crafty consultation be the cabal mushroom reach
Fool and Cry maker,
what instrument of ruse tone
will be spuriously blown?

Trained in clandestine ways ... dubious methods
Sly serrated angles:
cloak-and-dagger means, perforated aspirations

A duplicitous labyrinth
of bifurcated deals,
from dastardly motives concealed

With the turning of the screws,
twisted obsidian truth is apnea beveled into
morally amorphous grooves

Machiavellian machinations
is warped, Mephistophelian lip lathe
of fabricated whispered news

Double Exposure

Auto shutter the eyes,
keep a closed lid focus on things
Develop a darkroom view,
a negative attitude

Get inured by the lies,
lips constantly twisted tongue clicking
Shadow eyes coin flipping,
changes the message snapshot disguise ...
closure of the thought aperture

Double exposure,
less light
it seems is what blind people want more
Double talk bending ears over,
shutter close the closet darkroom door

Hidden motives do remain secure,
secretly tucked away
Bifurcated zoom action
always gon capture the pose cure

Time delay motion,
promises of bringing truth to light
is darkly spoken

Common sense lens notion,
the rich care not of the poor plight
Empty words be film tokens —

8mm of cynical emotion

Double exposure
ain’t never ‘bout capturing the truth
Open the door to the darkroom,
lift your eyelids up and see
the light reveal the double cross proof
