I think my dreams keep me sane,
I dream of happiness, a life without pain.
But in that second, it took me to just think,
My life could change, faster than a blink.
Now I’m drowning in my tears,
Not trying to be defeated by my fears.
Then once in a blink of an eye,
You'll soon realize it was all a lie.
No sunshine to light my way,
But I do have two bended knees to pray.
So I'll cherish and take nothing for granted,
I’m not saying that things shouldn't be chanted.
I do believe space devours time without our consent,
And hides the reality that our dreams were once spent.
I feel the real world is more like a nightmare.
A forgotten place where nobody seems to care.
But the moment my eyes are closed dreams come and take me.
Now I can be anything and anyone, now I’m at peace and free.
My dreams are long like a trip to eternity,
No matter what it be, a nightmare or a fantasy.
It seems better then life.
To be rid of stress, mayhem, and strife.
Remember where your thoughts all run together,
Just don’t get caught in your dreams forever.
I would give most anything if I could rewrite history
But that would not rid us of past misery
Lost in a world so full of rights, nobody cares to see my plight.
All the mysteries and wonders of life are clearly reflected, as is the light.
When my mind used to be overrun with emotions and thoughts,
Lately now they are trapped and caught.
Right now in my life I’m blinded by the ecstasy of living.
I know that is why I’m so giving.
So I sit back and think about the yesteryears, smiling at the change that has taken over me.
Freedom has truly defined that is why I know that I’m free.
Strolling down the memory lane, and unafraid of the future.
See because I know my life is full of obstacles and adventure.
Eventually, with my mind and eyes wide open,
I’ve come to understand, that some things, including life, change for the better; well that’s
what I’m hoping.
With each new day, and with a brand new life to look forward to,
I will just stay positive and to myself remain true.
As I read the bible I’m trying to light the sadness of my empty soul.
But I know that in my life God has complete control.
Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the
obstacles which he has overcome. – Booker T. Washington
We should all know that we come from a chaotic past,
To an info-tech age moving way to fast.
In our lives sometimes we are at our lowest low;
We all need a rope, a helping hand that will grab tight and never let go.
“Did you ever comfort or help someone that was old?”
“Did you ever give a homeless person a place to go or food when it was cold?”
Have you held a door for someone entering or exiting a store?
Or do you hurry in yourself, thinking "it's really not your chore".
In life each road is long, though short it seems, but it is definitely longer.
To where each road meets just the same, but we can make it better.
In life all roads lead to where we go,
Help someone less fortunate and be their hero.
We are the fatalities of greed, and we are fixated over getting younger.
In this rich and blessed world we still endure hunger.
We should not be judged by our religion or the color of our face,
Because in the end, we're all running this same race.
Some of us are not heading in the same direction but hoping to go to the same
place.
By now I was hoping and praying that love is what we desire to embrace.
We must take control of our actions today;
Or the children of tomorrow will be the one's to pay.
Kindness is the golden chain by which society is bound together.
- Johann von Goethe
Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.
- Mark Twain
A new season begun, a new life, a new birth,
engraving our story here upon earth.
The pages turn slowly.
Each day will pass.
Life is measured by the hourglass.
The sands of time pass graciously.
The book is written of mystery.
Echoes of silence, the pages are blank.
For the hourglass of life holds no rank.
Let today be today.
Look not to tomorrow.
For life will fade on the pages of sorrow.
Read the story,
you must go on.
Turn the pages of a new dawn.
To every beginning there is an end.
Your spirit will soar high in the wind.
Hurry before time runs out.
For life surely fades without a doubt.
The clock counts down each grain of sand.
Turn the page and understand.
Reflections of love and holding hands.
This page though so innocent,
a beautiful child of heaven scent,
happiness in a life well spent.
Turn the page again once more,
to find the key to all closed doors.
This page tells of mom and me,
the many cherished memories,
undying love for family.
Turn the page, see all my friends,
from around the world and all nations.
This page tells of sacred marriage,
to have, to hold, and also cherish.
This page tells of many great storms,
the sea of tears, and the thunder roars.
This page holds the photographs,
of many dreams that once was had.
Though some memories of life you can't recall.
The book of seasons, winter, spring, summer, and fall.
The last page to turn, so there's a stall.
The last grain of sand that slowly falls.
Now for a moment don't you cry,
the hourglass of life told us no lie.
For all is born and then must die.
God grant me the time to say goodbye.

"Deliverance"
by M. Taha Effendi
(Didactic)
Oh mortal! Do not be sad,
I know it hurts to wait.
Have patience, you will be glad,
to learn what's in your fate.
I know you love her dearly,
but to lose her is a test.
And now is just too early,
for you to know whats best.
Be patient, do not worry.
And do not act in haste.
Fruits eaten in hurry
carry a bitter taste.
Be not troubled by your past,
for you will smile tomorrow.
Though happiness will never last,
I am here to heal your sorrow.
To take a life is murder,
even if it is your own.
With death you two will be farther,
than when you are alone.
You both will live on; miles apart,
though your love will never end.
Time will heal your broken heart,
Your life, patience will mend.
I know this love you can't forget
but just live life by my rule
there is a life after death
that to ignore you'd be a fool
you will know if you are wise,
I do not comfort with lies.
For there is a place called paradise,
where you will finally claim your prize.
Sunrise, Oh aural hymn of spirituality,
Vibrant in it’s splendour and magnificence,
Sending nocturnes to daytime slumber,
Bathing life to a yawning earth.
Piercing the day’s birth with colours and hue,
The Master’s tableau, a glorious canvas,
Fiery paints, swirling strokes and defiant beauty
The bright facet of the world’s axial turn.
It evokes and invokes, feelings and awe.
Praises and raises, creation and spirits,
Vilifies and nullifies, sadness and hopelessness,
Resigns and consigns, acceptance and trepidation.
Strand by strand, it runs through the hair,
Pore to pore, it caresses the skin,
Squint by squint, it opens the eyes,
Every brightness warms a weary heart.
It bridges valleys and flattens peaks,
Resurrects death and ends horizons,
Humbles the great and strengthens the weak,
With its rays, its light, its kiss.
We are but an audience, paler and drabber,
Casting pathetic lines of self importance,
Feeble in our attempts and underneath its shadow,
For its languid phase is our mortal eternity.
When we are dust, entwined to life in death,
Ethereal and eternal and constant the sun remains.
Bathing life to a yawning earth.
Form:
Sweet Summer breeze
scraped n' bruise covered knees
sidewalk chalk marks on your jeans
torn clothes, worn as badges of Adventure
popsicle stained lips
secret crush kisses
Summer life as a kid
I truly miss it
Snatching fireflies from the skies
watching sunsets dashed with
cayenne pepper cotton candy
clouds
Sunnies nibbling toes
filled with stale bread from mom
kick the can, truth or dare, hide & go seek
mud pie smiles, warm chocolate chip cookies to eat
Summer life as a kid
I truly miss it
Grandmas sweet tea conversations on the porch
covert midnight campfires with friends
from spying little sisters
Ghost stories to tell, marshmallows to toast
climbing trees, fairy tale dreams
being the first one picked
for the kickball team
Summer life as a kid
I truly miss it
I did see you out of the corner of my eye,
Chills ripped through me raging in wind.
I did not know you to be a lifetime friend.
Our last life we must have said good-bye.
Our love did not just come in and out to die,
Our souls would be encircling merciless sin.
I am feeling you breathe me desperately into your skin.
Be it to you I never could tangle up my red rag tail dye.
We went away,
We came back,
We went astray,
We became slack!
Our last life has predefined today’s feat of fate!
So, my destiny by fate is forever in you my mate!

In my life I have seen infinitesimal good I ponder all the time why is life so unkind. I live my
life the best way that I could, but someone always despised where I stood.
The competitiveness of young life is all understood striving for things in time seems to
infatuate their minds. But as time goes by things of luxury aren’t so appealing to the eye,
remembering you can’t take it with you when you die.
Hard to find is total peace of mind, many spectral races in the populous faces. Through the
crowd with great haste, life as we know it has been thrown off pace.
Acknowledged through space and time like being blind living in the third eye, the mind.
Seeing all through a sense of what is felt hitch up and tighten your belt.
To predict see and feel what I dreamt before it happens what a gift bestowed unto me my
heart is rapture. For me this is true and for it I have been called the voice of doom, seeing
the other side of another’s happiness or gloom.
My forewarnings to heed no one listens until they bleed, then they look at me and plead;
what will happen next you sleaze? I can’t see things all the time but when I do, give notice to
what happens as time passes.
I can’t help it when I feel it you must know the truth, in healing of pain what I say will not be
in vain. I help myself when I let these feelings go I am not that braggadocio.

What is held beneath the hidden haven is such a mystery.
Looking in and looking out never a dream and never a doubt.
Souls in need for mercy to plea a soul driven just to be set free!
The hidden haven remains such a mystery all throughout.
Obscuring what life is really all about and drenched in all of its diversity.
What is held beneath the hidden haven can never be known.
Many more tears are yet to come,
All hidden where we all begun,
A need to be loved with a place to belong with a chance to grow!
The hidden haven remains a dark mystery that’s all alone.
Concealing what life has really shown,
Omitting my every attempt to reach out and truly be done.
What is hidden beneath the hidden haven is between me with you.
A clear moment with your brightest light,
All given and laid before your eyes very own sight.
The force of strength will carry us through!
The hidden haven remains a mystery with the life we will choose.
Provoking the battle that is prepared to fight,
Crushing the life you always knew,
The hidden haven can never be known.
It is hidden!
For it is deep!
A soul that absorbs life alone,
A moment forbidden,
But held forever in my keeps!

when I'm an old woman & live on an island somewhere
I'll have dreadlocks & nobody will care
chix will flock at my feet
both feathered and none
sleeping without all of his snoring
and coughing and wheezing
as the tropic breezes blows
away all of those allergy things
growing organic food
taking life with a grain of salt
a slice of lime
a tequila shot
wearing out hammocks
one after another
thumping the bass
howling at the moon
making home brew
flip flop art for the tourists
to take back
no such thing as crime
overlooking the sea
just you and me
and all the things we do
to feel free
your neighbor is your family
sunset building
with nothing else to do
savor rare bottle of wine
to do list- he he ha ha ho ho
beat the drum like the native that you are
sex on the beach night -n- day
exotic plants grow big as houses
wearing shorts on Sunday
puttin' round on the lil Triumph
peace and love
only wannas no gottas
sandcastle champ
solar panel attached to stationary bike
grilling what we catch
check is in the mail
got all the time in the world
trading eggs for a
Bob Marley cigar
every once in a while
observing life between my toes
then being really lazy
during the week
with bare feet
We do not despise
What God gave us
We do not dislike
Our countless flaws
We whom wonder hastily
Clinching to life after life
Hanging on with no purposes
Just the desired selfishness
To be alive
Claiming to be depressed
Claiming to be out ruled
Outlived
But who is it to blame
When one tries continually and repeatedly
And the thing one desires
Is not to be set in claim?
To live is to be alive
Cling to life
Outspread life
And contaminate life
But when one has the false desire
To terminate life
One has gotten the opposite meaning of living
And other ones must help this one
Give him a better understanding
A better view
A brighter view of life
Or perhaps how foolish one could be to end such grace
How illogic and insane
Or perhaps ungrateful
One could be to the creator
To God
To Allah
To live fully
Is to truly extinguish
The bleak fire of one’s destruction
And to emblazon the torch of existing gratitude
Attention! Attention! Read all about it, and don't you dare doubt it. You know me. I
thrive in controversy! When it comes to poetry, some of you is showing mercy! So I'm
gonna be 110% real. So here's the deal. I must get this sickness off my chest. So allow me
to address these member contests.
I see a lot of favoritism, it's borderline racism! See I'm a grown man, so understand
I'm not into games. Now these members, I won't mention names, and no this ain't no verbal
gun. I'm not gonna take shots at anyone. So you can remove the bullet proof vests. Go
back and view the last 10 contests, and that person who ran it. I don't understand it! It
must be a sin that the same 10 win over and over again! Knock on wood. Ain't no one that
damn good!
Attention! Attention! Read all about it and don't you dare doubt it! So what if a fellow
poet gets mad. It's sad to give them something they didn't earn. They need to learn.
Nothing in life is free! That's reality. You need to erase that first place! You did not earn it
and that "ribbon" you need to burn it! Now this is legit. Something really smells and surely
ain't s#%t!
Attention! Attention! Read all about it and don't you dare doubt it! On this site well into
the night, relationships are made, but don't be afraid to tell it how it is! You can tell the
quality in poetry between hers and his! The poets you've come to love, and are fond of
without a doubt don't need a handout! What cha mean, you don't want to hurt no ones
pride?! You're setting that poet up to commit suicide! Rejection can really sting! Especially
going through life not earning a thing! I guess that is the difference between you and me.
Because materialistically I had to sacrifice. I earned everything I got in my life!
*I'm aware the contests are judged by the "opinion" of the person that sponsors the contest.
But stop letting personal feelings get involved. It's a sign of weakness!
The hues of affliction caught my glimpse
Maddening horror scratching my doorstep
Clashing with severe torture,
Scorching away my destiny...my confidence
Hallucinations take hold
Risk shoved in a deserted briefcase
Pluck the rose pedals that reveal your wasteful woe
Now your woe is crystal clear in your outspoken instructions you very much lack
Magnify the dazzling sensation,
Drugging my suicidal life and its troubles
Sparkling risk managing to parachute a confident endeavor from each angle
Crawling on poverty road...managing to warp-up easing moments
Unsteady in your rambling presence
You are an incredible luck to my immortal life
Too unbearable to strike down...hunted on the spot
Magnify the dazzling sensation,
Drugging my suicidal life and its troubles
Trails of avarice, wonder my mind far from thee
I'd diminish all the doubts...clumps of shapeless clay
Save the case and listen to what I have to say
Keep me away from worrying mad
Digest the emptiness I feel deep inside
Leaving a trail of blasted fears
A mixture of fondness and softness
Plants on your brushed, blemished whisper,
The atmosphere fairly uneasy to take hold of
You borrowed from me and stole from my mummified heart
All I seek now is gloom and doom
Resume with your lightening life
Isolate yourself from hardened fear
Death stares grow unsteady in your figure
It was as if they never existed in your warm, swirling heart
I plead you'll never set foot on this road again
I'll some day figure out the unpredictable code
Be courteous, though your abilities are weak
Lay in dark affliction,
You warped-up poverty road
Walk in secure recovery
After I determine this code
Hold on for dear life
Lay on my palm, if it would help
Walk in secure recovery
Would you like to touch the stars?
Kiss the Moon or maybe Mars,
Run across a curvy rainbow,
To a place of ice and snow?
Could you smile the cold away
And leave me here with nothing to say,
Take my blood tears into your arms,
Paint my life with cinnamon charms?
Is it possible to smile forever,
See the World in pink and never
Be too far away from you,
Without which life has no clue?
Can a thought become a destiny
In the great emotional vastity,
When you feel like you're insane
With nothing to lose or gain?
Do our souls really dance on a string,
Or shine into oblivion, like a diamond ring?
When no one is here to ease the pain,
We've got eachother and that's not in vain.
