Best Unreal Poems

Premium Member Everyone Is Unreal Now

It is not all about us
It is all about me.
My feelings, my hopes, my dreams.
Get out of my thoughts; you take too much time

You are begging for attention
Annoying me
So I run toward the hills
To be alone, with my best friend, me.

Your ads come on TV
Begging for this and that.
Begging to live. Always begging.
You are an irritant. I flip off the TV

If I cannot see you, you become unreal
Everyone is unreal now as I hoard and sit
By myself with a boat-load of toilet paper
Not caring in the least about you or your needs

I am not totally happy with myself
But at least we agree among ourselves
Most of the time and this is more than enough
Keep your poverty and your illnesses to yourself

I will not open the door
I will not open my heart.
It is all about me.
Saving and preserving myself. Get it?

Her instinct was to run
as fast as she could...

Her feet started to move,
Slowly at first, gradually faster,

But then she bumped into something
A wall,
layered with promises,
unfulfilled ones
one by one
she delved into them…

NUMBER ONE said,
“I will always love you”,
In little pieces it crumbled to the floor

NUMBER TWO had the words,
“Our love will last forever “,
Now scattered

NUMBER THREE echoed the words,
I would never hurt you,
a promise so fragile

NUMBER FOUR
“We’re in this together”,
totally distorted...

When she got to
layer NUMBER FIVE
a single tear
slipped from her eye
because there she saw
an image of who she was

Before his empty promises
And all she hoped for was
One last chance to be
“That woman again!!...

One last try
To fix the broken pieces
 Before his footprints
Demolished everything
 she was before him..

Unreal

Tears on my face pouring down like the rain
A past that always haunts me like a stubborn stain
Heart tore to pieces in so much pain
Lips on my face that no longer smile
Laughter in my soul not heard in a while
Spirit so beaten it refuses to stand
Future so far I can't grasp in my hand
Things happen in life I don't comprehend
I wish I could write nice sappy poems
Of love and the future, and a house that's a home
Tired of replaying this same sad song
Not being so weak and standing up strong
Then I would be writing of things I don't feel
Then this poem would be something that to me is not real

A ReAlItY uNrEaL

Stuck it seems in this bottomless pit
Her life through the eye end of a needle
What's now become a life time habbit
For which she'd do anything even steal

       But l don't understand ;as l don't do it
So could not know how she dose feel
When she tells me that she's lost her hit
Because it's now started to conjeal

Though at times l would have to admit
I don't blame her as much those that deal
I only wish there would be a day she'd quit
As even now this reality that seems so unreal

A part two prequal to poem A STARK REALITY
About a friend ex though l could blame government l
Letting this go on for so long

Premium Member Delightful - Unreal

  Marvelous! Wonderful! Delightful!
    These words enchant the heart
      but haunt the mind
The truth about them is quite unkind

They mean something to no one
    nothing to everyone
  No matter their intrinsic appeal
sans detail to earn their repeal
    their exuberance mocking, unreal

The Unreal City

Nightfall on
   the metropolis
Untold millions head
  homeward
Tired from the day's exertions
They slow down and prepare for sleep
   But the "night people"
are just starting out
They will fill the bars and dancehalls tonight
    while the commuters sleep
              In this "unreal" city
there are night trippers and
    day trippers
In countless bars wine and beer are poured
In countless homes lights go out
Darkness covers the metropolis
The fate of the city denizens
is determined by how they react to mass culture
One million dreams in this "unreal" city
Some will be shattered
Some will come to fruition
The dice are rolled
and the dye is cast

Close Enough To Feel, Although Unreal

Love is false to those like I
Whimsical enough to dip their feet in such dangerous waters

Confiding our faith in one presumed to hold our heart
Overlooking our indecisive nature

Intoxicated with, but oblivious to the ignorance
Of the concept of forever, with them
Holding close-fistedly onto the hand that only knocked you down

The desire for them painfully develops from craving into a longing urgency
A misguided belief gone amiss
Mutualism for the other nonexistent in their intangible eyes

Spiraling in a mutilated defeat seems fit the exclusive option
Once brought to consciousness of your now brutal reality
You were doubtless in your supposition

For a second you were conclusively unequivocal
That you were close enough to possess and proclaim…their Love

In 24
we trudge along
with other trudgers
riding high on the
grace extraordinaire
with the delicacy of love and spirit
wrapped in the most perfect of plans
known only by God.

This Unreal City

I live in New York
   City
An unreal place
   where you see gorgeous women
  and plenty of homeless people
This city is a study in contrasts
between the haves and have - nots
It is a cultural mecca
with museums, concerts and plenty of poetry readings
This unreal metropolis
has inspired plenty of writing and poetry
From Walt Whitman to O. Henry
   this city has been written
I am trying my humble best
   to add to the canon
of writing about
   "Baghdad on the Hudwon"
   as O.Henry(William Sydney Porter)
named it in an earlier time

Premium Member the real and the unreal

A poet paints a leaf greener than it is,
a dramatist makes the story more tragic,
human nature crave for what unreal gave,
ignores reality that may hold more bliss,
those large white marble sculptures of long lost kings,
are carved to perfection to look Adonis,
because a lie often earns more wealth than truth,
there is money behind every Judas kiss,
pretending gurus con people through magic,
for what unreal gave, human nature crave,
stay with the real, give false pretences a miss.

Love's Reality-Unreal

Your lies much more exciting,
than any truth you never told

Stolen moments of pure delight,
  a fantasies cuckold

Your touch hides what your eyes cannot,
my dreams you come to steal

Your body moves, your heart lays still
  love’s reality—unreal

(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2017)

The Kiss That Never Was

So close your breath tingles my skin.

A transient kiss, placed on illusive lips.
I so wish, this moment would eternally exist.

Unfortunate souls bounded by love.
Two cold hands, in one glove.

Yet so far it's all a blur, this confusion I must concur.

This moment won't go in vain.

because i know, it will be a while till i dream of you again.

Unreal

Like roses on a thorn I never knew
What I thought was beneath and what was there
I look inside and all I see is you
And there I found I actually do care
More than I deserve, you make me feel
Am I awake? Or is this just a dream?
Heart Beats, with a tear and my thoughts unreal
 Perhaps this world is more that what it seems;
I hope someday you'll see what I see
Away with your pity and no more sighs
You'll look inside and tomorrow we will fly
You'll change and the sky will darken its hue
Whatever you become I will still love you

Unreal Dream

While u sleep,
Awake I keep,
Softly he takes u into his arms,
Gently u put your head in his chest,
Lovers dream of happiness,hope,
Somewhere in the horizon a lonely soul dreams of the unreal,
His heart reels, its an intolerable feel,
He wishes to be with her
He wishes to hold her
He wishes to kneel
Utter those words
I love you
But I will never stand between you and him
This will always be my unreal dream
