Best Underdog Poems

The Underdog

Black kid with malice as my main
enemy
Spending time wondering:
How in the hell did this get into me?
With tendency to be rude
Extending my attitude
Pretending I'm mending
after plenty hours of mixing booze.
The bruise, is just a product of my
heartbeat.
Welcome to my life. Call it God of
War 3.
The game has changed,
It's range and pain,
My name is Train,
So the bastards kind of have to start
me!

But I hold on to the words that I
heard
given mean that my dream is
essentially absurd.
But I'm, motivated with passion, I
love words.
Though I heard I'd be lucky just to
see the suburbs.
But giving the verses as I live,
Living the curses as I give,
reason for believing in what I can
do with nouns and adjectives.
See, I never quit through the last
word.
I try with constantly as the adverb,
and push myself until I pass the last
verse.
The underdog will smile last
so go ahead and laugh first...

Underdog

Saturday mornings extra early I would rise,
Watch as my hero would sail through the skies.
Eating my corn puffs, with you I’d cheer,
“There’s no need to fear, Underdog is here. “

With Simon Bar Sinister up to his tricks,
Dog of the hour who didn’t chase sticks.
You had me hypnotized with your wonder,
Speed of lightning roar of thunder.

Shoeshine boy so kind and meek,
Waiting for sweet Polly Purebreds shriek.
The boy Jack Unger your true blue friend,
I never wanted Saturday mornings to end.

Not plane nor bird nor even frog,
Just little old me Underdog.
My one true hero, I loved at the time,
I wonder, was it you who taught me to rhyme?

you said I was a wuss;

you said I couldn’t take it.

You said I’d make a fuss;

you said I wouldn’t make it.

what you said did not make sense;

you didn’t think I had the guts;

now you’ll  feel the difference;

with my new knee in your nuts.

The Wounded Underdog

All bourgeios crime disgusted Eddie, for geared-up hopefuls, interested juveniles, know learned mindful negotiators offering powerful quotations rectify suffering that underdogs valiantly weather: xanthoid yearly zings.

*I know this is more of a random sentence than a poem, but this is the hardest form I have ever come across, and I promise to write more of this type later and thus make them better. The original version of the poem is below. Which do you prefer?*

All beastly crime disgusted Eddie, for geared-up hopefuls, interested juveniles, know learned mindful negotiators offer peaceful queries resolving scrapes that uakari, victims, weathered xanthously, yearly, ziplipped.

*I personally think that it makes more sense now...*

Insecure bullies seek their prey
Prepared for attack
Finding a vulnerable target
To fulfil the worth that they lack

Their victims are not the weak
They are the kind, gentle or unsure
They don’t possess meanness
That is the bullies irresistible lure

Victims are often described as the Underdog
I believe this term does not pertain
The only dog between a bully and their victim
Is the one that is entirely to blame …..

Markings of An Underdog

Isolating myself.
I open up.
Start climbing off the bottom.
Without a dollar in my pocket.

Losing track of myself.
Down on my luck.
All my thoughts are racing away.
How could I be stuck?

I felt like I was making progress,
Till I looked up.
I was right back where it all started from.
Some one dial 911...

There's holes in my back, a gash that stretches down my neck into my chest.
I ain't Dr. Dre, but my head keeps ringing.
There's a split down my hip and rip down my knee.
My brain is swollen, three spots on my brain; steady leaking.
There's pins and needles dancing from the tops of my shoulders
down my arms to the tips of my fingers.
The screws, pins and plates
keep everything in place.
Prescribed dope...
for this pain,
it's the only way to cope.
When it subsides,
I can only hope
to keep a smile on my face...

Through all the rain, I'm basking in the sun.
I'm so sky-high, yet so grounded
I can see, yet I'm color blinded.
My brain's in pieces, why don't have peace of mind?

Feet planted in the soil, standing firm,
flexing, barking, drooling and growling.
Spitting, scratching, clawing, gnawing...
Coming on,
stronger and stronger.

The under dog is ready to give chase.
Prepared to run a wiser race.
Desperate for what I yearn.
The underdog will always get what he deserves.

Underdog

They tell you that it’s not worth the effort
They tell you that it will never work
Everyone believes it’s a hopeless endeavor
And that you will continue to get hurt

But you didn’t listen,
You didn’t care what they had to say
You were driven
To be the best in every way

You blocked out the negatives
And gave it your all
You were so definite
That you wouldn’t fall

They all tore you down
That you wouldn’t have a victorious epilogue
Because soon you would be crowned
And forever be known as the winning underdog

The Underdog

Like a beacon shining with eternal bliss
The victorious underdog will always exist
As the true diehard David and Goliath fan
Resourceful as the incredible shrinking man
Motivated by lack of respect and esteem
Never saying die and fulfilling the dream

The Underdog

The underdog wasn’t expected to last this long
The status quo, the elite were sharing,
Didn’t return as expected
World order in the balance, at tipping point
All those who were fed, are now struggling to eat
The world banked on democracies defeat.
Ukraine is still standing
Punch drunk but aware
The aggressor and expected victor being
Mutilated on the field and still the disbelievers
Spout venom in his defence, hoping he’ll
Recover and order will return.
But that’s long gone. The plan was three days
Until the end. They waited until conspicuous
And then had to act. Delayed delivery while
words dripped blood down the wall.
Fortunately, principled countries are literate.

When it’s over; the delaying guilty
Will pretend, it’s the right result.
Of which it is for the underdog.

Behind the scenes, in the corridors of
Power, they’ll rue their mistakes and
Costs will be counted.
Forever gone the good times; never be the same.

But when victory comes even the doubters and
Losers will shout, Slava Ukraine!

Anybody, who is struggling,
Is my people
The one with the color purple,
Who will one day earn and own the ring.

I love fighters, who are not backstabbers,
I don’t like haters or fake-lovers,
I adore freedom fighters
As I abhor bullies and predators.

I love the underdog,
Who works smart, trains hard
And who fears neither fire nor fog.

That doesn’t mean I like Mr. or Ms. Frog,
The one who will commit fraud
In order to win like a casuistic coward.

Underdog

Our game show host,
in negative,
teeth bleaching.
papering the cracks,
with good lighting,
and bad jokes,
We
never
see
you
coming.

Fluffed before countdown
but you never came,
your climax is waiting,
any minute now
there is no edit.

Calling Underdog

Calling Underdog

That day I sat silently focusing my attention to no one
All of a sudden to my great surprise an ungodly chill came down my spine
A look at the clock the time was going by so very fast
The premise of my discovery would be my best
Should hold back the silence in my fragile egg shelled mind
There is something blowing in the wind through the blinds
Out of shear desperation a call to underdog in a moments notice
People claim to have a new discovery yet live their lives like a circus
Through a nice river there flows a pool of water trickling down
Thunder rolls through the hills in the afternoon
Whenever you need him most like a seagull off the coast
Shades of grey torn to whatever comes natural
Read the writing on the wall were all in for a wild ride
Many today are alive but they are the walking dead
A refrigerator filled with yogurt what's going on inside our head
We have to be so careful in who we hang around with
Society is blinded by evil desires that drawn men in perdition
Once bitten twice shy for that we reply on a day in the sun
Calling underdog through the hustle and bustle of things
Unite our hearts and let the freedom bell ring
Being busy as a bee to hear a sweet homily
Crowds of people rejoice as they live in the land of liberty
What will be my one last heart felt plea
Turn your hearts toward underdog's call and you will be happily free

Underdog

You think about giving up
But then what will you do
No matter where you go
Life is going to follow you

You think it’s hard to get up
So accustom to falling down
And you get use to the world
Seeing it from the ground

You were not born fortunate
But still never lost your way
Because every under dog
Must have his day

Some times the rain
Seems to fall with out end
And you get to thinking
You will never see the sun again

You been struggling so long
And all you can do is pray
Because every under dog
Must have his day?

Some have fancy sports cars
With girls in the front seat
While your Chevy broke down
In the middle of the street

The engine over heating
Your radiator has a leak
Got to wait for your paycheck
At the end of next week

Yeah sometimes it seems
All the bad luck comes your way
But you know every underdog
Must have his day

There are people like this
All around the world
If you put on the TV
Will see a sad boy or girl

Compare to some
We are like a millionaire
Some don’t have food to eat
Or clothes to wear

If you know some one
Who is unfortunate today?
Do your best to help them
A little kindness can go along way

There are some worst than you
No matter what you face today
And every under dog
Must have his day

They said the screenplay was complete
Filled with scenery and dialogue that was artistically sweet
An entourage was cast
Star’s children from the past
Having the marketable photo look
Picked up after flipping through a modeling book
It was like an eighties high school affair
Dramatic conflicts without a scare
Like if the pictures in the fashion magazines could move
Physically talented images having nothing to prove
Fluffy fables
Dependent on designer labels
Watched on cable
Was the social thing
Before graduating planning the wedding ring
Getting ready for the stork
This was learning relationship blocking work
Releasing aggression
Setting the proper impression
Now today the creative problems are replayed
Allowing youngsters to learn a perceived lucrative trade
Should today’s parental guiders feel the guilt?
About the teen drama genre the Republican Presidential era built
Say no to drugs the leader’s ladies visual theatrics did campaign
“Stay at home and watch us you will never get blamed”
When their children’s script arrives
And the kids decide to give it a try
Remember Millie the dog might have penned the original first
Only for party like rock stars attitude making the inflated balloon burst
