Unchained

How many suns have I seen?
I hope I see thousands more.

But I don't want to lie awake,
begging for sleep, for puzzle-piece dreams,
crossed wires beneath my skin.
They spark and spasm down my side.
The tingling hurts, the cold converts
the numbness into pain.

I need more time to write, to rhyme.
I need more time to love.
I need more time to watch the sea
while sunsets bleed
and rain clouds weep
upon me from above.

Where's my unchained melody?
Where's my time to shine?
Don't cheat me out of time with him,
Don't rip me from his side.

Have you ever tasted metallic fear?
It feels heavy on my tongue.
I crave today
as I hear them say:

But, how...? She's so young.

Unchained

Unchained,
free of commitment
Explained,
in her persistence

Heartache, trust issues,
her skeletons run a muck.
Physical and mental abuse,
she finally left that schmuck

Charming,
her benevolent smile
Enchanting,
and extremely versatile

***

Self-contained,
committed to money
Unrestrained,
when he tells his stories

Lone wolf in a den of solace,
independence from captivity.
Free from emotional malice,
let go with a sense of chivalry.

Contingency,
alone feeling festive
Aborigine,
a supple beauty so majestic

Explicit, this voluptuous vixen,
feasting on my fragility!
Wrapped nude in Egyptian linen,
irresistible!!

A gentle murmur from receding waves
the tender sound
of your voice
rippling
words.
Sand
trickles
through my toes
as time goes by
I think of you and hunger for your touch.

Unchained

There once was a time
And a place
With a different name
And a different face

Bound by the shackles
And Kept out of sight
The fire it crackles
At the dawn of first light

Remnants of love
Shattered about
They fit like a glove
This, there is no doubt

Left for the wanderer
Who must have a key
Not wanting to squander
What only the wounded can see

Take a piece if you must
To heal your wounds
And rebuild your trust

For this is the beginning
Of a new day and life
Your path is no longer thinning
The end, of misery and strife.

Strong as the ox
And faithful as the bow
A paradox
We all should know

The fire it crackles
And burns out of sight
You're free from your shackles
As day turns to night.

A key to give
From he who once lost his soul
There is more life to live
After love has taken its toll

Evergreen 2 Unchained Melody

Evergreen # 2 Unchained Melody
Now
the night has fallen
The sounds of guns
engage and rage in my sight
I confess, my love
the fear that all men know
their life could end
I hear your prayer
I…I need your prayer
Godspeed your prayer to me.

Duty calls a man
many times, many days
Duty calls a man
just like me
But when the guns are done
endless fog, blackened sun
this lonely man again
you will see

Now
I wait for fire
and thunder, thunder through the night
I must stay alive
While I endure the hunger
that comes from weary eyes
and long goodbyes
I hear your prayer
I…I need your prayer
Godspeed your prayer to me

I Unchained My Heart

Rainy days gone and summer too
Since long my heart was kept
In chain on eiderdown bed
Feared of getting wet or
sunburn.
I let it fly now.
Like a parrot uncaged
I eject my heart.
This autumn,I unchained my
heart.

Embellished with the colors of
Blue sky and white clouds ;
Embossed with the petals of
Sunflowers and Marigolds ;
Painted with the colors of Green
leaves,
Like an Elf, my heart,
I let it fly now. I free my heart.
This autumn,I unchained my
heart.

Fly with the fluffy clouds
Like a moon, smile gailey.
Suffocated you were
Freely now roam the valley,
Foreshadowing tomorrow’s
uncertainties,
Warning of tomorrow’s
complexities
And bring forth to me
The stories of far-off folks,
The melodies of joys and griefs,
And tell this autumn
To stay for a while
To walk with me
For some unknown mile.
This autumn,
I unchained my chained heart.
For till another season.
I unchained my heart.

Unchained

A melody unchained in my mind
a movement uncloaked
and I'm undone
missing of musings esteemed

write for me a song so sweet
a soliloquy of love
painted in a mid-day dream
where two hearts come and breathe

where yesterday's meet tomorrow
and today is forever young

nature's sung within the treetops
swaying aside your hips
oh how I long to kiss your lips

mouthing of words that are right
written in the heat of night
or day
I say, I will stay
n'er stray
to a wondering eye

Dying To Be Unchained

Hours to days came and passed
weeks to months and even years
a decade to almost two
within me a poet was gravely dying to be unchained
seeking freedom of expression
seeking freedom of speech

So restless he was
pounding inside me like a palpitating heart
dying to be unchained
to be a poet to live among poets
to speak out his voice
to let out his cries

His ambiguous murmurings
would often steal my attention
as I pondered over them
as deep thoughts possessed my mind
as deep feelings oozed from my heart
and permeated my blood stream

Often I wondered to myself
what really this tide of emotions is
ushering me through a reminiscent of my past
till I realized that within me is a poet
gravely dying to be unchained

Then I discovered my love for the pen to pen
the poet’s voice when he grows restless
when he rattles the chains locking him
when he metamorphoses my deep thoughts
into a sequence of poems
dying to be unchained

My love for the pen grew
stage by stage with age
and when the poet in me speaks
I grab a piece of paper for the pen to ejaculate on
poetic lines diffusing from my right hand
filled with poetry laced blood
onto the pen to mark the birth of a poem
the voice of the poet in me

He stares into the lighthouse fire
an ant in the hole
Against his throat rests the wire
a life that his beloved stole
When suddenly the sparks' igniter
is pieces of a whole
Far from his ancestral shire
he digests the mole
Betrayal for something shining brighter
he takes time to patch his soul
She stole from him his final lyre
but he will regain control

After all that's transgressed, there's nothing left
No longer will he be drowned in the reft

A Heart Unchained

A heart there is, whose love your heart contained
A time there was, and in that time I changed
Oh glorious day! When ears first heard your name,
a song of brilliant iridescent flame.

A day there was, and for that day I praise
the sight of your sweet graceful gentle ways:
a butterfly’s descent in summer’s light,
its lovely wings afloat in airy flight.

A life there was; my life’s no longer mine,
one passion, one desire--both entwined
I live, I breathe--imagining how much
this treasure is, each moment with your touch.

A soul there is, whose love my soul proclaimed
A love there is, whose heart your love unchained.

Unchained

The picture of elephant's feet in chains
Raises the psychological wonder
Maybe the ethical question
Maybe the professional edification

There is the animal
The elephant
There is the wild
For the animal
The elephant

There are the chains
Which wouldn't be there
If the animal was at its natural habitat
The wild
To run wild
Chainless
Unchained

Premium Member The Apparent Sincerity of Unchained Men

Misspent by inclination,
treed by ambition,
I fled the woods thirsting for the desert,
only to drown in a deep water ecstasy,
later to awaken in the vineyard,
free of fright, bound by the new day's light.

The unchained man bowed his head,
sincerity apparent, no deception transparent.
But the rock in my heart would not soften.
My suspicion would stay, no fears allayed.
This unblinkered seer,
this transcendental man,
had clean fingernails.

Draw your lines, number your principles,
look through me and ponder the stars.
Perhaps you do read future history.
In a world scrubbed white that coin may trade,
but you get no supper until I get paid.

The strange attractor left the table.
He blasted through the clover
and felled the shamrocks,
separating forever the last leprechauns in love.
Brutally, he balanced the books.

Now I see the unchained man's dream:
A land unfettered by growing things,
that sterile paradise where simplicity is king.
The numbers add up easily in a desert fantasy.
Convulsed with joy,
I close my eyes adrift at sea.

Soul Unchained

Shackles of sadness
Chains of despair
Prison of depression
A dungeon of darkness.

Sunlight shines through the bars
Its rays shining on my face
The warmth and love it brings
Gives me hope to survive.

Shadows lurking in the darkness
Taunt my existence and well-being
"You'll never make dreams come true",
"You'll never make it".

Every direction I hear them
Trying to get me to lose myself
Down a spiral of madness
Wanting to break my spirit.

Yet I lift my head high
Staring at the light
That lies outside my cell window
Showing the beauty of the sun.

The sun my only friend
Telling me to hang in there
For I have the strength I need
To break the shackles of my despair.

No matter how much pain
My body will endure
The soul can never break
Such as the mind keeping its sanity.

I pull forth with all my might
The chains and shackles keeping be back,
Yet I pull forth toward that window
Getting closer by the inches.

The chains and shackles beginning to crack
As my will was fighting back
My determination breaking through
The soul fueling the fire within
To melt through the chains that held me down.

My arms reach out toward the window
The sound of metal chipping away
As the constraints beginning to give way
Breaking a part into pieces
As I was breaking free.

My hands grabbing the bars of the window
As I was free from my restraints
Embracing the warmth of the sun
As my eyes glowed like the aurora
For there was hope for me
I can make it out as long as I believe.
