Forgiving and patient, so kind,
Affectionate and loving, unconditional;
Tireless, hardworking without complaints,
Humble and gentle, never does he
Ever grumble in fulfilling our needs;
Resolute and unswerving my dad is,
Selfless, simple - epitome of sacrifice, and a strict
Disciplinarian, he instilled moral values in us.
About my dear dad, I have much more to pen
Yes..had I got more space, I would go on and on...

Humble hearted humans reside
Under the protective wings of angels
Making sacrifices to make this world
A better place, a place where
No one is left out in the cold or abused,
Infirm and suffering the elements, or
The emotional or physical pain of poverty
Yearning to keep peace for the love of humanity.

*Note: I had in mind the healers, teachers, doctors without borders, nurses and caregivers of all kinds, those who are fighting to save our environment and those who donate funds to help all those in need.
These humorous lines were inspired by
Viv Wigley's "Food Fight" contest.
Could not resist the temptation:)

Lettuce pray before eating.
He likes rabbit, but can’t stand hair in stew.
A carrot is worth its weight in gold.
To lam a lamb? Terrible!!
Is it wise to pare a pear before eating?
Chopin onions – not musical but certainly tearful!
The bull’s life is at steak.
Cross my heart said the honest brussel sprout.
The pig was too thin...that saved his bacon.
Wearing a bird costume sent me raven mad.
Buy caviar from stir gin’s row.
The servant was maid to eat umble pie.
She could hardly talk after eating hoarse meat.
He’s wrapped up in his food.
Humbug! This is apple sauce!
Excitement in the kitchen – fat in the fire.
A flounder struggles to walk. It’s flat footed.
I enjoyed my drink – pleased as Punch.
One look at the dessert...I scream!
Take the guilt off the gingerbread.
I invited the golfer to high tee.
Take your plaice at the table; we’re eating fish today.
Open the lid and reveal some of the meat.
What a pity! The gobbling turkey had a lump in its throat.
The peacemeal destroyed our friendship.
Make no bones about filleted fish.
Next time just ask for dessert; don’t mince words.
Keep your eye on the roast, or else it will go to pot.

Angel of God sent from above
Nobel spirit filled with love
Graceful and glamorous inside and out
Encouraging us whenever we are in doubt.
Luminous soul with a gentle heart
Admired by many for the wisdom she imparts.
Elegant yet simple in her all ways
Dramatic at times but still makes our days
Independent in life and shows us how to be the same
Teaching us that life's not all about fame but been
Humble n honest will make your name.
Motivating and reassuring when we feel down
Angelic voice that turns our frown around
Headstrong and heroic, she fights till the end.
Abandons our fears and our broken heart she mends
Righteous and courageous, her children, she defends.
Amazingly awesome, the list goes on and on.
Jealous are many that she’s my Mom.

My Name is O.M.P.H.I.LE; I own it as a badge, it is my definition and who I am.
O pen-minded
I open my mind up not to judge, to live and let live. As we all on a different journey, and the Rightful Judge is The Father so who am i? But measly man on whom He Looks upon, I am not here to be a divider of people but rather to bring them To the Lord if they may come.
M ad
I am that craziness wrapped up in pure African skin, complicated in a bubbly personality to make me. Mad about Christ, Mad on people, Mad on Life. Totally Mad. My best quality yet and I embrace it with the same way a new born embraces Life.
P oet
Amateur poet striving for the Best, on the way to the top, Contemporary baby! In a way that gives my readers goosebumps, with standing hairs upon their neck wondering if I am of this Earth. No, I am not a bragger I am just merely writing what people have expressed to me.
H umble
This is a quality best left to be judged by others, but as a famous quote goes sometimes you need to give yourself a pat on the back. Humility a quality that is required of all to showcase the human factor in one. I embrace you.
I ndividual
Yes baby! You heard me right I am an individual in my own right, clasping on to my originality with both hands (tsoo-pedi). I love who I am, and my individuality is not a crutch, but a formation of the being that defines me, beauty, brains, flaws, sugar and spice baby. No one else like me walks this Earth.
L ove
The Lovistaér! Kgm kgm… I love to love and be loved, the love queen. Love is at the core of every human, how can we exist without i? It nailed My Saviour to the tree. The Four letter word with immense impact when uttered, it can not be taken back, powerful words! Change my world today with them words! Can you feel me???
E ntertainer
A self-defined ‘Born Entertainer’, how I Love to make people laugh, smile and be happy. I wanna be a ray of sunshine in your dark day, so let me bring you to the radiance of gladness in this blissful abyss I Invite you too, can you feel my spin?
That damn weekly times (circa 1900),
Afternoonified with Gigglemugs
sending me off my chump
Editors Half-rats, Not up to dick,
the meater.
Genderfied, I am
A woman of incredible script,
stylograph committed,
deemed a whooperup,
yet her prose is
umble-cum-stumble.
The longing expressed
through the lovers eye
poked-up the meater,
who Batty fanged my dyke
with his footle
His "Enthuzimuzzy"
was unwarranted
and the mutton shunters were called
Collie shangles erupted
yet concede he did
overcome with blue devils
He purchased my script
published it last page
like a Skilamalink
I cared and did not
for published I was
weekly times circa 1900
I bested the ragger
Rough translation - deceived
that damn weekly times editors
all snobbery and fake smiles
sent me crazy
The editors drunk, and unwell
he's a coward
I am a woman
a writer, a poet
committed to my craft
deemed inferior
yet my writings are
thoroughly understood
The topic in question
a female lovers romance
embarrassed the coward
who thoroughly thrashed my lover
with his nonsense
Ohh the insulting "enthusiasm"
was not necessary
the police I did call
heated arguments won the battle
and he apologised - albeit begrudgingly
His saddened state,
as he was forced
to take my manuscript
and publish it in the back
like some dirty secret.
Last page was bothersome
yet published I was
in the weekly times no doubt,
as I defeated that trouble making editor
T he birds are singing merrily
H ummers sipping happily
E veryone is busy as can be.

Acrostic contest
Rare to see a beautiful soul like her who is
Aglow inside out, admirable and amiable. A teacher so
Dedicated, for us students who seek music, she is
Humble, hospitable, affectionate and compassionate.
In times of stress from humdrum of life, her music class is the
Key to unlock the door to a verdant idyll of peace where
A symphony of harmonious notes bloom and waft in air like
The sweet aroma of hope that pure fresh jasmines diffuse.
Ever smiling and cheerful, my teacher welcomes us to the class
And along with her, we drift across unexplored realms of music. A
Child-like innocence and a winsome smile adorns her graceful face.
How blessed am I to be her student, I thank God from my heart. An
Epitome of kindness, she showers her blessings to all. Our dear
Radhika teacher, we adore you forever for your steadfast love!
Faith filled fervency in fellowship with family and friends
Always advising with amazing authority and austerity
True pastor-teacher and talented Jack of all trades
Humble, honest and handsome, he is my hero
Exemplary evangelist with experience and excellence
Robust and reliable, he restlessly runs our residence
Sincere, skilful, smart and sharp-witted with a sensitive side
Dynamic, dauntless and dear, he has a distinctive personality
Articulate and able, ablaze with abiding, ardent love
Yeah, he loves yard work and yearns for yonder heaven.

For L Milton Hankins' "A tribute to fathers" contest
Wonder what joys may we proclaim
Endure love, happiness, peace and freedom
Whether it be through storm, struggle or strife.
Inhibit not your pain; temporally numb
Limit only nothing
Partake among the otherwise eluded
Articulating silence
Regret not, revel now—present tense
Today may you last all through tomorrow's night
Yell in tongues at everyone about everything excellent
Land fear; collect with them
It feels what they feel
Kindle as one like bundles
Exclaim freely without shame
Terify us
Humble us
Entertain us
Respect us
Enjoy us
Show us
Never give up faith
Over foolish doubt
Touch magic
Observe miracles
Manifest judgment
Order infatuation
Redevelop belief
Rejoice collectively
Objectify all fear, release veracious bravado and,
We will party like there's no tomorrow.
