Premium Member The Scar - Written In Collaboration By Lynn Marie and Victor Buhagiar

Are you happy with your work doctor?

Look at me when I talk to you.

I looked in the mirror you know.

Mirrors don't lie.

What you see is what you get.

Like a miserable computer.

Is this the best you can do?

Look at my scar. Red?

Livid red I should say.

The best aesthetic surgeon in the world!

He slowly rises his eyes to meet mine.

Calmly he reminds me what has taken place.

The surgery is always risky.

The damage done, he grasps

Desperately to say more words,

Any word to vanquish the villainous
hate hurled at him.

I can see how he wills me

To look into his eyes, begging
silently for grace.

I feel the purple bulge of blood

Beat frantic under my pale skin.

Denial fighting reality

My volcanic pain slips one tear.

He pleads me to see his afflictions,

Hides putrid human failings

That are not borne for this spleen
of contempt.

I fume, screaming inside my
words back.

Look at me! Look at my scar!

Mirrors don't lie.

Then he comes out with one
fantastic idea:

"I'll pay for everything.

All you need

Is a dainty cheek tattoo!"

For my first collaboration to be with Victor,
is an honour and experience
 I will cherish forever.

To Victor,
I am especially grateful and appreciate your
generosity, time, kindness and sage tutorials.
You are a true gentleman, extraordinary Poet
and a beautiful friend.
Thank youxx

Primo Vere - Spring Comes

Spring comes
Quietly--
Not with the bleating of lambs or
The tweeting of birds or the
Beating of butterfly wings

Spring comes
Silently--
Celtic through the Neolithic stones,
Unheralded by peering shadow-seekers
Rummaging around on the Second of
February, and unannounced by a
Banner on the front page of the
National Enquirer…

Unpresaged by pregnant April
Showers,
Spring comes--

Alive

Nota bene: This is one of the few pieces of juvenilia I have preserved. It was written when I was at college (the University of Florida), in 1979, when I was in the English Department High Honors Seminar. We had an assignment to write a poem about Spring, but to try not to fall into the usual cliches. I thought it might be fun to mention some of those cliches ironically. We had one-on-one tutorials with a number of well-known novelists and poets; one of mine was with the poet Richard Eberhart. He told me he liked this poem and that it was a good one, so I have kept it these four decades.

Lament of My Life

I think I achieved a lot of what I desired,
But failed at my best physical aspiration,
Only dressing myself for ten days admired,
Because I couldn’t overcome agitation.

My parents came over all the way in the car,
Scoffed and scoffed at me, got me foul looks,
Because they knew that I could cold shoulder,
And become credible in my atheistic hooks.

However, I am happy everyday in knowing,
That I attained normality, my real condition,
Having been given a male OT for controlling,
My spasms, having to that person a relation.

Also, I think my mum didn’t want the blame,
For failing with me first time when I was three,
‘Cos she claimed it was my personality, lame,
Not hers, and her faith healing posits definitely.

So when I tried hard with my doctor when 20,
At university, after forty-minutes of OT time,
When he happily became my desired male OT,
And I dressed myself, I then had a normal line.

But I reverted to my disabled self upon looks,
From my parents after ten days and exploded,
A volcano came up right inside of me, no nooks,
So that was that, and I spasmed again defeated.

But I have made most of the friends I imagined,
Related to people with the same mind and heart,
Had good times up the pup and on crawls destined,
Answered questions in tutorials and took part.

But I was isolated cold by my parents for my poetry,
As a teen when I only had my poems on computer,
When I only showed them to friends, carers, gentry,
To acquire the care and get the respect perambulator.

So I am happy now to be in an atheist anthology,
With a few of my poems published for all to read,
At Waterstones as well as in ebook technology,
About Stephen Hawking, my hero of good creed.

Permanent steps to a height reached by a very few
Reputation highly recognized is the end point
Irreversible standards working hand in hand with personal convictions
Not everyone with friends and family inclusive may approve
Identity is formed which sits on the sofa of respect
Purely executed without a second thought- no going back
Laws of nature as well abide by them to stay distinguished, and can be
Established through discipline’s tutorials
So that life and character stay different and unique

Youtube Makeup Tutorials

I’ve become frenetic about cosmetics
And demolished by nail polish.
I could regale you with tales
Of how I’m no longer flush
Cause of what I’ve already paid
On foundation, shadow, and blush.
I have too much;
So much more than enough.

I’ll be painted until I’m tainted
By all the money wasted
While I sit home alone
Looking gorgeous to my own
Reflection which barely passes
My own harsh inspection.

I don’t know how to apply
All of the shadows and highlights
To achieve the “Smokey eye”
Of too much smoke on my eyes
From 2009, when
I last rocked and shined
This aging face of mine.

Now I spend every pence
Just to gaze at my face again,
Barely bearable mirrored back.
I want my former beauty back;
I’m tired of financial attacks
For these new beauty hacks!

Maybe I should just let
My face go slack
And not try to get
My former looks back?
What do others do when
They start to act and react
Hastily and Wastefully
On faces which won’t mend?

I’ll tell you: it’s the end
Of all shimmers and glimmers
Of youth, for it’s the truth:
I’m on to mattes, which have my back,
Don’t settle into creases which increase
The age upon my face,
Now defaced and disgraced,
With makeup always placed
Incorrectly on my face.

Drenches cortex, a sculptor's paste
Presses wet clay to her gluttonous shape
Vessel cool vase impervious as nature's sage
Erects their next century in verdant scape
Cracked terracotta, craft invigorates

Discerned strange through merged lenses
Eternity guaged by trajectories blended
Vehemently slapped at session end
Melted muscles dispel defences

Watertight tomb hosts wisdom ingrained

Ict-English Tandem

By George P. Lumayag

Users learn English grammar when ICT is used.
Microsoft Word can check the misspelled words,
It even reminds the users' choppy words,
Google Doc can detect the wrong structure of words,
And Grammarly.com can recommend suitable words.

Writer's original composition can be justified when Turnitin is used.
They can not publish their journals if such papers violate the rule.

The online creation tools offer young minds become prolific writers,
SketchBook provides creative students to become digital editorial cartoonists,
Photoshop enhances student-users to become digital pic lovers,
And Weebly.com offers them to become online digital layout artists.

Learners can improve their speech when Youtube.com is accessed.
Learners can enunciate English accent through parroting the Youtube channel,
They can learn tenses of verbs on Youtube Language tutorials,
Therefore, they can learn English on Youtube.com

Artificial Intelligence can be the English teacher,
So, ICT is very much related to English teaching.

                Poetry with a Conscience

When are you going to stop following idiotic mandates?
Preparing your entire family and you,
like sheep in obeisance, for life in a totalitarian state.

What happened to the freedoms you
so dearly held and cherished?
Wake up, speak for those things you
love...many rights have already perished.

And we poets, drool over monarch butterfly wings and
study endless poetry form tutorials.
Whilst the freedoms guaranteed in the Constitution are
quickly becoming dead, granite memorials!

We are fearful to write about blood-filled American streets.
Till it be our very own, oh, how ugly to ponder and how
bittersweet!

These pages might be our last chance to wake others to our
present insanity.
Lest we all lose all freedoms, and find ourselves living in a
hellish Totalitarian inhumanity!

It's time to resist and revolt, right now and stop your
poetic, sweet and wonderful hidings.
Lest the freedom door finally closes, and the morons forbid
you from doing any writing!

Golden Tone

Golden melodies
Creating a series of bolded memories,
Spiral through the canals of my ears...
Melting away the wax so everything clears,
Peers from all directions echoes to project their voices...
Only a golden tone is embraced.

Alert! I became...
Adrenalin pushes my heart to my throat.
My world became still as I choked to echoes of your voice.
Mesmerised! everything changes to my then perplexed soul.
Attraction surpasses that of North and South poles,
That's the power of the golden tone!

Everytime it vibrates through my ear drum
I attantevily cling to the dear moment..
Not allowing any breathing space between every second.
My emotions react to every syllable you utter
Awakening ghost memories long thrown to the gutter!
Goosebumps pops!
reacting to the sound of your golden voice.

Choices I had,
Ultimately got abondoned
Due to your daily calls I surrendered!
Yes,  everything changed as I bent my rules
Just to soak in the thrills of your golden tone!
Melodies of your voice sounds like the best callertune in my fone!

Blocked vessels in my soul
Flushed out, everything flows..
Unsaid truth got exposed
while chambers of secrets get discovered!
My heart skips relinquishing sweetness brought by thy tone,
Golden tone that bears no obstacles of dismay.

May you please
Escape with me to the galaxy that you from.
Let  your soft snores be my daily lullaby...
As there is no longer any alibi,
Share me tutorials to sharpen my voice,
For your golden tone its my choice!

Oh the beauty of life..,
Life which is no longer limited by
"what ifs"
Yes! the beauty of life..
As everything changes..!

Premium Member those smoky eyes

J D Vance has such smoky, smoldering eyes, doesn’t he?
The way those baby blues coruscate, as if from the darkness.
Are those shadows natural? No, it’s eyeliner, of course, but on
a 40-year-old man it’s called guyliner.

Any teenage girl will tell you the kohl pencil is the gateway
makeup tool for self-definition, if not exactly self-improvement.

As an ex-teenage girl, I can picture the hours senator Vance spent,
hunched over his laptop watching make-up tutorials on TikTok or
Instagram, analyzing eyeliner techniques in overwhelming detail.

TikTok clips are today’s replacement for the Teen Vogue magazine
product pages of back-in-the-day. I recall watching these videos,
at 14 and devolving into a fog of envy and inadequacy.

JD began wearing guyliner in 2016, so he probably watched those
at age 33 and by now, he’s certain to have upped his game
by having them permanently, cosmetically tattooed on.

Of course, Trump himself has never been one to shy away from makeup.
His weird, orange, glazed-ham look comes from his preferred spray-on
concealer, ‘Bronx Colors,’ a cruelty-free makeup manufacturer in Switzerland.

If this all sounds too judgy, I’d like to say, “JD, I’ve felt your clearly adolescent girl pain, and I get your desire to represent a softer and more romantic republican political aesthetic.”

And let’s not forget that Kamala’s been known to wear makeup herself.

The Great Return

Let's bring it back; let's go back
To that sweet, old thing we now lack

Make it great again, go back again
Let's start right away; let's begin

Back to organic maple syrup over Mama's hot, buttermilk flapjacks
And Daddy's Saturday morning tutorials on how to change the oil and how to use a scissor jack

A return to strangers saying 'hello' to strangers in passing
Souls offering sincere pleasantries that are warm and long-lasting

Let's take a trip back to Mayberry
With some good old-fashioned Andy, Aunt Bee, and Barney

Back to decency, respect, kindness, and hospitality
A good, wholesome place; a good space of love and integrity

Let's go back far away from the masks and the distant, cold stares
Back to sharing a sandwich at lunch and car ride shares

For too long, we've sat lonely in a sunken place
Such a cold, dark, and constricted space

Let's go back, let's revisit, let's taste that lost sweetness
That wholesome, rich thing that's bustling with goodness
