Envious hearts would never be lovers of truth and justice but devotees to falsehood and injustice!*

(c) Demetrios Trifiatis
          04 June 2016

* Today I received a soup mail from someone who never visits me, accusing me of supporting someone who harasses ladies and gentlemen alike!
I would never commit injustice against anyone! I only comment on the poem written ignoring why the poem is written.
Sometimes poems are fictitious. It is impossible to know what is in the mind of the writer since there are no names of the supposed victim! I DECLARE THAT NEVER SUPPORTED OR WILL I SUPPORT ANY INJUSTICE and would like to let this person know that I am a free man and an honest one! It is better for the author of that soup mail not to try to turn one person against the other. Here we are not to divide people but to unite them! At least I AM DOING IT IN PRACTICE.
God bless him who sent me the message and may he sees the light and stop creating groups to fight one against the other so as for him to reign! I also ask all our soupers to work in harmony for we suppose to be poets inspired by God and since GOD IS LOVE let us LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

Life is like a chapter in a book

We open and have a look

Each page unfolds a chapter at a time

One opens another closes we find

As we turn one page it grows

New chapters begin to unfold

Until we find a book

Like life we have a look

Each page shiny and new

Like our life as we grew

One page one line

One day every time

Until the book is done

Until life is none

We live one day at a time

Just like we read every line

Premium Member The Damned

I never asked to be born,
so these sins leave me torn,
between living and dying.
I'm laughing, but begin crying,
because I've lost all affection
for my mirror's reflection.

You think... I'm just a psychopath,
as you don't understand my wrath.
Such judgement, leads me on a warpath,
as voices tell me to start a bloodbath!

These pills offer no remedy,
so my heart's not beating steadily.
so, I stab the world and let it bleed.
Hey death, increase your speed,
avenging angels have been freed,
and I'm not one who's gonna plead.

Damning demons provoke my mind,
to behave in ways that aren't kind.
Revenge will turn one blind,
when fate has been sealed and signed.
I can't leave retribution behind,
as forgiveness has been declined.

Destiny calls my name loudly,
Satan claims I've sinned madly,
hounds of hell devour me badly.
I'll give you my soul gladly,
keep on smiling sadly
and accept my fate proudly..

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Life

you go through life and do your best
people think they know you,
their perceptions clouded by unreal expectations
but really what do they know? nothing, not one solitary thing,
so they make up stories to appease their withering lives.

every person has two sides, dark and light, there is
a duality ruled by the balance of darkness and light
one side we show the world, the other we keep
hidden inside.

each of us, two people struggling with
a past, present and future, our past is a tricky thing
etched in stone rendered soft in our memories,
our present, tinged with the powerful knowledge
of what has been said or done, the future, ah the future,
the unknown, striving to make it grand by the
present and past and how we make our stand.

our present and future have many paths,
one wrong turn, one twist of fate and its back to
the starting point. one step in any direction can
change the course of your life forever.

but, even the most powerful darkness can be defeated
by the tiniest spark of light, for someone lost
in darkness, a glimmer of kindness can be the
beacon that guides them home.

Turning One

I waited 40 years to turn One for the fifth time.
Cheers to the tears earned in a life's rhyme just
and to remember who we are. I'm 'here' and I'm
not far. It's the first, fifth time I've dared. ;)

Rap Is Where It's At

Rap Is Where It's At

jump in the game no here to complain
being busy as a bee in a land of make believe
we shoot for the top but it ends in the flames
let me be the first to explain
I'm staying in the game this is my time
May shoot to the top in my prime or stand in line
Sugar is sweet like honey but I'm going to be the one who brings home the money
Life is funny in its twists and turn one soul soars while the other one burns
we can each learn from our teachers it's not a walk in the park late night double feature
we got to learn to stick close together no matter what the weather
see each of us has a gift we must use or its forgotten
thank God we got to kill that thug Ben Laden
search your heart you got great rhymes inside
don't fall away or try to run away & hide
go slow at first to take up the pace
some folks may think your from outer space
yet what do they know there just jealous you see
many don't even know there A.B.C's
stop spreading the disease it will knock you to you knees
look toward the ocean while you use your magic lotion
take a shot in the dark & someday you will find
you will never be left behind
it all comes down from within deep inside
look at the junkie in the gutter
the mother who doesn't have enough to pay her bills
she turns to cheap thrills to do what she has to do
have we bitten off far more then we could chew
kick it in the shower its your hour of power
in the end you get to make the final decision
it isn't found in some fake front wishing
Rap is where its at your going to make me have a heart attack
the signs are painted all around
listen as you'll hear it's nasty sound

One Year Old Njeri

Today I turn one on poetrysoup
Today I want to say thank you
ASANTI
To all my friends here on soup
I remember the first poem I posted
I wasn't sure about being on a poetry website
Uncomfortable, trust issues, new, lack of knowledge,.....you know all those things that come in play when you are in a new environment
Plus am a little slow when it comes to technology

Written few weeks prior to joining psoup
It was a poem dedicated to all my friends
They all received it
They all loved it

Thank you for the love
Thank you for the support
Thank you for the embrace
Thank you for the advice

Wherever I go,
This will always be my home

*Sometimes I visit, I don't always log in but I read from afar and the new energy, the new posts, the new creations always leave a smile on me. I still read, it seems I never leave comments anymore.....'cos of so many reasons that I myself can't even understand....please don't judge, maybe it's just a phase in my writing journey as I continue to discover myself. I have mad love and great memories of the great poets i've met here*

October 15 Her Birthday

Another year comes and passed by
and you turn one year older
and there's more responsibilities now
as you feels the weight on your shoulder

October 15 a very special day to me
its the day you entered this world
the magical day that you were born
the most precious beautiful baby girl

Gods gift to your mom and dad
a little bundle of joy for them to love
and angels was send down from heaven
to bring her blessing from almighty god above

and millions of pure white turtle doves
took to the blue sky's in flight
with mother nature beautify in full bloom
as the sun shines across the world so bright

and watching her grew every day
fills her parent life with such pleasure
and every foot steps ,smiles and first words
the special times they will always treasure

Another year has come and passed
It's time to blow the candles and cut the cake
as friends and family sing happy birthday to you
with music ,song and dance they all celebrate

and as the years slowly goes by
you're blessed with peace, joy and harmony.
spreading your happiness where ever you go
a pillar of strength, class and honesty

and you can easily make others smile
and you ask for nothing in returned
with your subdue amazing sense of humor
and all the knowledge of live that your have learn

you have grown to make your mom so proud
a fact that makes her happy to talk about
you are all that she could have ever wish for
you're the best daughter without a doubts

today October 15 its your birthday again
and tears of joy filled your eyes
as you read all the best wishes of love messages
you are so full of emotion it makes you cries

because you know how much you are truly love
and how much you means to your friends and family
all wishing you a very very happy birthday
and many many more from now until infinity

so as you celebrates your birthday on October 15
you have all the love in the world in your hands
and I hope all the your dreams and hopes comes true
and I wish you the very best in all your future plans

We Are Loving In Difficult Times

We are loving in difficult times
Better ape them
For though apes go to war, they go on –
They don’t die to kill, for unknown love
Yet we hunt our kin to kill for unknown love
How cold we can get
To leave them the cold
For love unknown?

We are loving in difficult times
Turn one page at the Hospice
You chop my head, I chop yours
That is how we bid each other
We kill, we are killed
We mourn ourselves
Bury ourselves

For Love unknown
Love of what, Now?
Of tribe, of Pet, of Soil, of seat, of what love
The Love of seat; My table!
We are loving in difficult times!

I Lay Down These Stones

I lay down these stones
And hope you will see
I do this for you
And what may one day be

That I am always there
And truly love you
Worrying about you
Is all that I do

These stones have meanings
This I did learn
When you turn one over
Progress is earned

One stone means faith
In what you can you do
Count on yourself
Make dreams come true

The next stone means hope
And all that I pray
Is the man you’ll become
With each passing day

Some stones cause pain
Since they show what you’ve done
Don’t run away
You’re never alone

But most of the stones
That I did lay
Are there for guidance
And light for the day

Light in the darkness
Is what I pray
I can give this to you
Don’t turn away

Accept what you’ve done
And change it from here
That’s how you grow
And then learn to care

To care about those
Who have been here for you
Waiting patiently
Is all that I do

Premium Member - Miss Friday - Weekend Humor -

    Miss Friday,
is desperate to avoid being forgotten
She is a caring and kindhearted woman
    If someone asks her age,
she will answer with a lie (of course)
It is not a crime to tell white lies
To turn one feather into five hens is to exaggerate
    - a trifle into a big deal
    Never pluck feathers

We all feel that the weekend is too short
    time flies as a arrow
She will enrich your day with humor
never doubt that it will please you
    There will be no performance
Dance your way, let worries fade away
Life will be boring without her ...
    admit it

Premium Member That's the Tenderness of Soul

The soul has many facets.
It can feel empty, can feel whole,
Broken or mended...
That's the tenderness of soul.

When a heart bleeds for another,
When hateful deeds turn one cold,
When love compels kind actions...
That's the tenderness of soul.

When attachments form,
When compassion takes the leading role,
When the bonds of love grow stronger...
That's the tenderness of soul.

When one feels tired and weary,
When poor health takes its toll,
When one begs the purpose of their fight...
That's the tenderness of soul.

When nature makes a spirit soar,
When a sense of humour finds things drole,
When two hands join and fit just right...
That's the tenderness of soul.

Tenderness is vital.
It's a quality of old.
Tenderness makes us human.
It will make ours an appealing soul.

Quarrel of Man

What meanest thou? Why doest thou rage oh man.

How hath thee imagined an evil thing against thine brother.

For now the nations are heard, a tulmut as waves roaring.

Mankind shalt weep for the loss of his sovereign glory.

Kingdoms shall fall to break asunder the pangs of conscienceness and cords of fellowship.

Can'st thou explain? If thou canst answer me.

Why doest thou continue and thusly allow

suspicion, prejudice , and narrow-mindedness.

Why must thou hate and raileth upon thine brother and turn one man against another

creating this endless quarrel of man.

Lest thou learnst to forgive and seek each thy brothers higher good then shalt the ancient

pulse of hatred continue to grow until the nations of the world explode.

Whilst thou understand oh man? Mankind hath but one redemptive plan to love one another

as was God's command.

Ode To the Girl Child- In 4 Parts

INFERNO OF THE GIRL CHILD - 2/4
------------------------------------------

You have, a long way my dear.
And a much longer,
journey awaits you.

There was a time, in history.
During this period of grace.
She was condidered, so impure.
And not allowed to enter
Hallowed places.

Even the living spaces.
Because man decreed, that,
God considered...!
his own creation sacrilege...?????

At times; she....,
because of this stigma.
If an untoward evil should happen.
Be considered the reason,
for such an event.
Was burnt alive in the stake...
because she was the curse of the Gods...!

A sacrifice,
to appease the creator....!
who cursed his own creation...?

This is just a pigment of history.
Just one turn, one view.
Through the kaleidoscope, of life.
Tribulations, of our beautiful girl child.
