Best Tranquilly Poems
Snow -
a sleep
descending on the twilight streets;
Snow, in silent fields you lie pristine
beneath moon’s glow, a blanket shimmering.
Oblivion serene!
Tranquilly envelop me in
Sleep -
a snow;
the more you fall, the deeper that I go
under.
Oh, sweet Slumber,
suffocate with pearly flakes
those of us the weary that repose,
long time having waited like the windrows.
As Boreas does blow,
lull and bury all in drifting, dreamy
snow.

Winsome Wisteria Sonnet
Eden, open your ardent arms to grace
Wisteria's soft lilac petaled blooms
Draped stunningly about Spring’s sunny face
In softest shades of lavender like plumes.
Your aroma wafts heady in the breeze
When graceful racemes descend from above.
Divine as the frilling flowering trees
Your stunning sight captures my heart with love.
Goddess Venus must surely be aware
Of the glorious sight that you bestow
Like dainty dangling ringlets in Spring’s hair
As zephyrs sprinkle your petals below.
I am profoundly moved by your presence
And tranquilly transported with pleasance.

Sonnet
In tender light of pink sunrise
under a sheer, swiveling sky,
you rescued me on jagged rocks,
then from the haze, shined you and I.
This joyous place upon a strait
over the gently roiling sands,
is where our love rose on the winds
surrounded by salt-kissed wetlands.
Clear, cyan seas flowed tranquilly,
and in love's trance, I fell for you.
What started as my heart’s secret,
I shared with seagulls as they flew.
Waves surged and sprayed across the shore,
mist glistened and blew off the dune.
Then kindest eyes found love in mine
as tides swelled in glow of full moon.
Today, I count my days as blessed.
I am assured by faithfulness.
I’m lifted to your waiting shores
as glistening waves flow effortless.

-3/7/14 and 5/2/14-
The waves of the sea and the screeching of the seagulls
Mix together like coffee and cream
I feel like I’m livin’ a dream
I walk barefoot on the warm, warm sand
I don’t really understand
Why you lay a hand on me…
Is it because I’m as mournful as the sea
Or is it because I’m the waves that swivel and dive down in ecstasy?
I don’t quite understand
The reason I feel the city’s pressure and hardness
They are cemented in the abyss
Serene Shores…
Sails in silhouetted slumber
Serene Shores…
Falls into flamboyant floors
Serene Shores
Guides me gently, giving me grand advice –
“DREAM ON, DEAR CHILD!”
The sound of honking is heard unexpectedly… the sound emitting out of the car
It was so uncalled for! It was going way too far!
I feel like drifting away in a deep sleep, carelessly hitting the seafloor…but I’m wide awake instead
I would like to lie lifelessly and tranquilly…I ascend from the water’s surface in disappointment – where’s my head?
I can’t completely comprehend
Why I am more in tune with nature – it could mend
A shattered soul…
A torn, forlorn heart…
Like my own
Serene Shores…
Sails in silhouetted slumber
Serene Shores…
Flaps its fantastic wings, favoring the light of freedom!
Sadistic Shores
Pushes me forwardly persistently, poking at me pessimistically–
“WAKE UP TO REALITY, YOU MORON!”
I ponder about the future and its many mysteries
There are clues in the surface of the ocean
I’m too busy trying to pick them up as I go…I wonder about the meaning of the past memories
I squander my time, getting caught up in bittersweet emotion

Pearlescent specks were sprinkles in a sky
that would have been dark but for the white
of those ivory flakes I saw
twirling so tranquilly down.
Swirls of serenity -
those pearls of the night
filled me sweetly
with delight
before
bed.
When
I woke,
I looked out
my window to
see what night had brought.
While I had been buried
in dreams gone unremembered,
dull barren land of December
lay enfolded pristinely beneath
a beautiful argent eiderdown quilt.

these are

fruit times
hanging out
tranquilly in
touch with
well let me
think...
everything
but then IT
asked me
to name
everything
so starting
simply
i picked
this up
and then
that and
named that
this and this
that
one of many
two of many
too many
manyies but
few of any
nothing pairs
up in threes
always a he

confusedly
not knowing
why since the
lamb is laying
with the lion
having no pride
to be beside
the other lion
of course the same
about me swinging
with the chimpanzee
i should be with
that other thing
naming it
whoa man

I’m Virgo, playing music tranquilly
in this self-portrait. The clavichord I chose.
It denotes fine education; the black clothes
I'm wearing prove I value chastity.
Dark as a shadow, to the left of me
is the face of my governess, which shows
I am dutiful. My face fairly glows -
lit with love for the arts and poetry!
See me in this latter portrait, still in black,
a high collar at my neck. A strange disguise
my face is now; I'm nearly taken aback
to see my sagging jowls! How dim my eyes,
and how thin my lips! But never did I lack
for love! I have lived long and have grown wise.
*Sofonisba Anguissola, who called herself Virgo, lived
from 1532 to 1625. She was a female artist known
for her great grace and modesty. I chose to write of
her using the Petrarchan Sonnet to honor her Italian heritage.
The two self-portraits described are from when she
was both young and old. I thought it interesting to
see how she changed with the years. If you copy and
paste my link, you will see several self portraits from
her youth and the two on the bottom are probably
close to when she was in her 90’s!

Italian Sonnet
Rest in peace, you loyal elf
You surely will be missed
You were shining in our darkest hour, a candle
Lit despite the storm
We buried you beneath the sand
Where you reside so
Tranquilly
Because in your last moments, you were free
Free at last

Weeping echoes no more in the hazy war torn streets.
The churning insides of our beings replaced with inner peace.
Behold the laughter of innocent children frolicking in the plains.
Their parents tranquilly enjoying life with song and dance---no pain.
Witness the animal kingdom united in harmony,
As the lamb, the wolf, and the grizzly bear bask side by side with glee.
Our aching for those lost in death transforms to ecstasy,
As we embrace them close in our arms----soon a reality!
Yes, this glimpse into the future is a promise we can trust!
For our God who cannot lie has sealed it with His love.
God pleads, "Come under my mighty wings, you indecisive ones."
He'll protect you from all harm, as you listen to His Son.
(Isaiah 2:2-4, 11:6-9, John 5:28-29, Revelation 21:3-5)
This is a sequel to my poem, Gone.

In the numinous nebulous clustering clouds
The sacred soul of man in creation
Within the homogeneous hemispheres of consciousness
A sapient spark in consummation
Thrown thru subatomic space and temporal time
Inhabiting the jewels of the Heavenly sphere
The jaded journey of man in its molding
Binary building blocks within the Earths premiere
Plasmatic parallel universes unfolding euphorically
As the molecular matter tranquilly transforms
And the Angelic realms wondrously watching
For the cosmic climaxing Super storms
We enter the Central Sun of Christ Consciousness
Mans DNA abundantly absorbs His thrusting light
Behold a New Angelic Man mysteriously manifests
As the Ancient Ancestral Ones await and reunite.

As rose petals wither in the autumn of life,
Days hasten in orbits, some dull, some are bold.
my muse rises to hoist a setting sun hung in gold,
gleaming light abiding as daughter, mother, and wife.
Glorious blessings entrusted outshine loss and strife.
Circling paths of heaven and earth, charms conjured unfold
as rose petals wither.
I hum a lighthearted song from an innocent time
and soar higher than summer to tranquilly reminisce.
Then, receive autumn with thankful heart, tho' spring I do miss.
Warm days dash by, distant Christmas bells chime
as rose petals wither.

She sits content,
Grasping the orange blossom in her long slender fingers,
She sits, alone in the world around her;
Worn pages of her favorite book calling to her,
Like an old friend it beckons;
Characters leap off the pages like old friends,
Brushing her mind with familiarity all their own;
Tranquilly, she poses;
Lost in a realm of her making;
Surrounded by the sweet scent of the garden,
She lounges, the very image of solitude;
Contemplating the possibilities;
Placidly she sits…

Anacreontic Verse 3
Cool crystal raindrops
scrolled down the palm leaves
swishing and drooling
over sloping eaves
The scarlet lilies
reddening their cheeks
bugled open to
the bees tranquilly
snoring in their hives
under painted roofs
Last eve I sat in
the shady arbour
luxuriously
enjoying the rain
playing salsa with
these blooming girls in
crimson skirts in a
signature scented
floral studio
painting hues of red

Deep the pond
sweet the water,
Tranquilly placid
nestled in safe abode,
Nourished by tears of yester-years.
Vast the spaces
of times immemorial,
Condensed to serve
in segmented places,
Striving and continually
seeking the birthing waters
of the placid pool.
Vain the vanities
of immortal entities,
Chasing shadows
in spiraling obscurities
floundering, for a way to find.
