Best To Each His Own Poems

To Each His Own

My sister and I have different personalities
Never alike, two peas from the same pod,
but not germinated for the same Winter crop.
We never argue over mundane trivialities.
I like halibut, but she always chooses cod,
and I prefer vacuuming; she loves to mop.

But there is only one topic we cannot discuss
Our political views caused too many disputes
We disagree on the qualities of a President
and had heated debates. Oh, how we did fuss!
When I said Trump was immoral and in cahoots
with crooks, and he was a stubborn old cuss.

She fired back that Biden was senile, much too old
and she didn't like Kamala, which made me sigh.
Round after round we boxed, in verbal objections.
She watched the numbers as voters were polled
and I wanted scissors to cut off Trump's red tie
and no more commercials for Presidential elections.

Finally, I said, "Our bickering is tearing us apart."
She agreed for the need to put an end to our feud.
We're both much happier, but once in a while
she'll mention his name, and I'll say, "Don't start!"
I'd never vote for a man who's crude and lewd.
I can't understand why she can't see that he's vile.

We'll never agree on which man is most deserving
or which one truly lives by America's Constitution.
We avoid politics when we come face to face.
But I know Trump is unfit, and is totally self-serving
Biden isn't perfect, but Trump started a revolution.
He made a mockery of the office. Such a disgrace.

Yes, I blame him for inciting the Capitol subversion
But didn't say a word to her so we'd keep the peace
Sometimes it's still difficult not to interject a belief
so we talk about taking a pleasant holiday excursion
perhaps to the Caribbean or to the isles of Greece.
I'm just glad that we found a way to stop the grief.

To Each His Own

This is the story of two lonely souls....
Who found each other, without cajoles...
Neither had ever had a mate....
Yet Jack and Gill decided to date.....
They felt an instant connection....
As both were Chefs and had a fixation....
One for Chicken the other for Bacon....
And so decided to take their direction....
From what they had learned in life....
Party animals that they were....
And perhaps now you can concure.....
Their feelings for each other....
Was so far from any another....
People just didn’t understand....
Why when they walked, it was always hand in hand....
They never strayed and held tight to their ways....
Believing their world was just another phase....
But eventually the world would accept you see....
That what they had was called * “ smaltzy “....
*Yiddish word for rendered chicken / animal fat or a garish over the top fancy party...

To Each His Own

Some like it hard and some easy,
Some like it fragile and some tough.
Some like elegant not cheesy,
Some like it real, some like it buff.

Some take their time to have breakfast,
And some wake up and off they run.
No obligations or steadfast.
All deserve spot under the sun.

Some like sex with perfect stranger,
Some choose to rediscover one.
Some prefer a heat exchanger,
Some - a fireplace and stars and fun.

Some like it steady and stable.
For change some like it versatile.
Some like to be tied with cable.
Some like their dirty clothes to pile.

Some sweep just upon occasion.
Some just cannot bear to be seen
With no mop. Figure equation.
They like their living space so clean.

So we are all so different.
We all pursue our tiny dreams.
One can't afford indifference
Or randomly let go of steam.

Give way to consideration.
'Cause in the end, to each his own.
Direct path to admiration.
With God's help you won't be alone.

To Each His Own Bed

When Ozzie & Harriet wed
Censors decreed one to a bed*
Desi & Lucy
Never got juicy
But McCarthy still dubbed them, "Red!"

* It was not OK in the USA for
married couples to share the
same bed, but always OK for
people and puppets to beat
the crap out of each other,
leaving Soup poets to wonder
why people are so cruel!

To Each His Own

we all are blind ,until we see-that in the gods plan.
nothing is worth the making if it does'nt make the man
so why do we still build large cities, if the man unbuilt goes--
for it's in vain we continue to build-------
---- unless the builder also grows,,

                       so

i looked at my friend that always stood by my side,
and wondered why does'nt our enter spirits agree
should i give up this friend that i so valued with pride,
just because he does'nt serve the same God as me.

Each bough, each limb, each mantel draped
with dangling beauty edged
each bit a dream which does dwell
within man’s heart so pledged.

Each star that lights the evening sky
and pillowed cloud-scaped night
reminds us all of Bethlehem
of God, his Son and Light.

Each pristine bit of tinseled foil
does reflect sublime
the undeniable goodness of the soul
which wakes at Christmas time.

As long as there has been photography,
there has also been ***********.
Dirty pictures fill whole magazines.
The photos depicts sexy scenes.
Digital shots are found on internet sites.
What can be seen may cause frights.
Some folks get kicks looking at what is shown.
All I have to say is "to each his own".

Inspired by another member's poem.

To Each-His Own

I never chose to write like you,
it’s enough to write like me
My feelings live to shape each thought,
your passion foreign known
I need to use those gifts bequeathed,
while searching endlessly
And leave to you your native tongue
—and speak my words alone

 Even though it’s evil,
God can remold, soften –
and pour into it
To each His own

I am not my own
Even my life is on loan
