Abstractly Phenomenal Butterfly Thesis

She was an abstract woman in a clinical world
theoretically reasoning her notions were perfectly
discerning midst-chaotic sensibilities,
whilst her inane whimsicality kept semblances of
insanity eye-leveled twixt reconfigurable ideologies'
over-share & objectionably designated delicacies of
exothermic exposures pseudo-psychic phenomenons,
therefrom she found divinities were misaligned
with governmental expansions as an alternative to
spirituality and hypotheses of butterfly hurricane frolics,
'twas indubitably manifestations of poetically piddled
calculating escapism artistes & scoffing con-conspirators

GRACE GROWS BEST IN WINTER
I had but one joy, this apple
of my eye, to preach of Christ
,my Lord. Now I hang but by
a thread,but if I may say,
it is all of Christ’s spinning;
Day by day the bloom fell
off my branches and joy did
cast its flower. And yet I might
still meet with joy up in the
rainbow’s bower.There the
good Husbandman does pick
His rose and gather His lily.
The night will close the door
And hasten my anchor within
the veil and I shall go away
to sleep,leaving others,now
to tell my tale.

SCENES OF A CARELESS BOYHOOD

The sound of water,escaping dams
willows,old rotten planks,slimy
posts,brickwork,old timber props
wet ditches,sedges and silvery nets
towpaths without gates,horses that
tow barges collared with crimson fringe.

Wheat and thatched cottages and cornstacks
grasses in flower,bogrush bulrush and
teazle,so tall.Bindweed,wild carrot,
hemlock in bloom,cow parsley,plantain
bramble in June.
Poppy,thistle mallow
and hop.Purple heath,hills and swift
running streams,true clear freah and
brisk as champagne about to pop.

LEISURE FROM LISTFULNESS
A long & dreary time,exquisite
delight has passed.A perverse
unaccountable feeling.A moment’s
reflection,a store of recollections
a painful task to concentrate upon.
Questions come thronging my pen,
difficult to convey,a matter of doubtful
expediency,leisure from listfulness,
dreamy,beautiful,inconsistent,reflective.
Passion and affections a mute sense of
attachment, yet gratifying. The end of a struggle

Life, a Paradox

This morning as I woke up,

smiling at a new day,

thinking I’m a day older,

I looked forward to another birthday,

but my mind quailed at the aftertaste

before I shared my joy

with friends and kindred:

another day had been taken away,

and my dying day advances!

Out of my window I looked

to find out the cause of the noise therefrom—

Mr. Somebody had bought two more cars:

one for himself; the other, his wife.

And delighted they were,

for now they had six cars altogether!

I shivered at the irony:

their earthly stock had reduced by two!

After my bath,

I made for the living-room.

The sights were eye-friendly: assorted gifts!

Everyone gazed interestedly at my exclusive outfit.

‘’An angel has descended Heaven!’’ they exclaimed.

An ounce of disappointment overtook my face.

All these lots had been withdrawn

from the deposit of my life wealth!

There came the merry-making,

but only I did not have fun.

‘’Are you the odd man out?’’ they asked.

But life as a paradox:

it grows every new day,

and dies every yesterday.

It is an ending game,

awaiting the stoppage time.

UPON THE SEASHORE
Off the blue Nantucket
music of laguid hours,emerges
from the labyrinth,delicate
snail-horn perceptions of beauty,
thronging this world of sensible
things.Stirred by majesty,soft
flowing surging impressions
where sea meets sky.Infinite
purples,fragments of rainbow
gleam in the spindrift,sensuous
lively,lovely,many-hued restless
gossamer,abysm of time in a
dancing throng,slow recurrent
the rhythm of the sea, sifting the
illusion upon a seashore.

SOJOURN IN THE EXOTIC
Penetrating imagination,restless
intellect’s perverse ingenuity
and worse, in imperishable
lines eerily luminous corescate
like brilliant pyrotechnics.A wind
that blows aloof,ebbs and flows
of the familiar and the strange.
A picturesque protracted sojourn
in the exotic,a periennial longing
to be what we are not.The paradox
reasserts itself and glamour fades.

The Legacy of Light ~

We all have a legacy, which we shall all eventually leave behind

Yet how shall it read, within its epitome or epitaph?

As I beheld these words, their writings

I could tell that they were brought forth from ones soul....

While sitting by this peaceful brooke, of serenities everflow

Wrapped in the warmth of Heavens graceful tide

Contemplating, what remarks I could render

In reposed reply unto it all, from the depths of my heart

To the hopeful sanctum of their own?

Often I have turned, shunning the false perceptions of greatness

Within the eyes of the world....

Always pointing away from the created, to 'The Creator'

To lift this candle of truth, unto, the fountain of praise deserved

Wherefore do I find these gifts of others, which I have professed!

But first, I must turn unto my very own soul....

Beholding them beyond the stagnant mirrors of conception

Wherein the clouds of vague, do they often reside?

Kneeling atop this bank, and dipping my hands beneath the shallow waters

Exhuming therefrom what treasures, which these my open palms may find....

As I ponder what breath do we take that is lasting, in this our world?

And what impacts upon others, if any, will this their write leave behind?

This story, the ultimate question, to the honest answer, that I shall hold!

For to live only unto thyself, I have often considered, believed

Is but to slowly bleed, the inevitable death, of ones very own life....

Yet to offer it unto others, while you walk, you breathe, you live

Is, truly wealth beyond any measure~crossing the barriers of trident time

So what do I say in response, to these words which I have read?

As I turn to the purest source of truth, now standing before my eyes!

Let me speak not, before this reflection of thought reflected

Has been brushed by this glow of reason, these reasons that I find

Searching for, within their writings, this response unto....

Friendship: Just Like a Palm Tree

Friendship: Just Like a Palm Tree

By Izunna Okafor

From the crusts of lonely loams
It gently roots inner and outer
And softly pullulates harder and taller
To register its purpose to mankind.

Like the trunk, the bond glues harder
To the closely open hearts of soil
Who signed for mutual reciprocation.

Its oil heals internal and external wounds
Smoothens the rough path in the journey of life
And generally satisfies the ravenous and thirsty mind
Amidst love, sweetness and uncommon affableness.

It is a shelter
To those who faithfully embrace it
It is a protection
From both the seen and the unseen blitzes.

Though it might be swayed or troubled at times
The frond fans away fears, worries and anxieties
And breezes up pleasure and comfort
Drawing from the wind and coolness of the heavens above.

From its base to the apex
Valuable is every tranche thereof
Beholding its mutual and universal foredeal
Both in the long and the short runs.

Just like a palmtree
Friendship is fecund, impactful, virtuous and gainful
Though bad may fitfully come therefrom
That, the good utterly outweighs.

Grapes of Despair

There is no part of life mine alone,
If regarding my whole existence.
What belongs to me is only flesh and bone,
Therefrom this life has subsistence.

Down on the farm I was buying time,
The universe I studied for reason.
Sweetest wine carried me through my prime,
It numbed my pain in every season.

There arrived torturous days galling,
Mainly dispiriting to my mentality.
Yet I operated above whatever was appalling,
I just dared not easily show my fragility.

All this and more, it kept me sane,
Scarcely a day I had without sin.
There was the neglect, and profanity arcane,
Its blasphemous speech was akin.

On a dry creek bed I oft-times laid,
Looking up at the sky in a daze.
Habitually I went there and quietly played,
Literally it was a place I could laze.

Sometimes I caught fresh tadpoles,
Then cooked them in a tin pot.
These larvae's I collected from tiny water holes,
An acquired taste they were hot.

But only to the conversant hillbilly,
I rather was such in an awful rut.
It wasn't something I could flee quite freely,
So in my misery I feasted on smut.

Actually I tried to glance elsewhere,
But I felt like a slave to this stain.
They looked so pretty in their neckwear,
Several were butt naked in the rain.

Across the flat fields cattle grazed,
Completely ignoring the crows.
A vineyard nigh I watched over unfazed,
Lady of plight too would impose.

The grapes of despair I grew there,
Relying on ***** men in chains.
They worked all day till dusk without fanfare,
And none of them had notable names.

It was a harsh country for the folk,
Ye all marked fateful on a tether.
Unfortunates who had no rights to provoke,
Things there were cruel altogether.

The slave tarts I occasionally took,
Most offered no fiery resistance.
But when one did I quickly gave her the hook,
It meant she'd hang in an instance.

Until the grapes of despair expire,
I shall continue my trade of sin.
Down on the farm I expect this life to backfire,
Postulating fears to my hell therein.

A Cup Runneth Over

we're sorry no pets
poststorm dog barks wag nonstop
an arched cat hisses

cool shades show a view
advanced a treat much delight
sun-kissed blossoming

a smile comes my way
my countenance is induced
courtesies likewise

get the camera
oh just about almost there
outstretched stance crying

you bought only games
I hate it there's no Xbox
it's still in the car

it's a wink of time
that will endure evermore
it's a lifetime rise

two friends meet one more
threesome playing together
greatness in numbers

baseball team haircut
eleven members now bald
boy with cancer hugged

ere the knell chimes in
fun times at reminiscing
hugs and love abide

public tree planting
when the old plant trees whose shade
they'll not sit under

how true can love be
our enemies still fight on
for whom the bell tolls

pick a tight corner
not a wide open field then
get them one by one

what is confidence
'tis fear that dwells deep within you
wear the whole armor

sip his Words therefrom
drown in them force need to breathe
substitutes wisdom

child beseech not I
for He lives within your heart
your faiths will bless you

don't busy yourself
filling other cups but yours
God will fill your cup

I am quite content
I've more than enough for a
cup runneth over

ALL IS SIMPLICITY
Create a little business for
the Eye to be drawn from

glee.Variety, lively touches,
surprising effects to make
the heart dance so pictures
walk out from their frame.
All is simplicity and elegance
almost motionless plainness
in a grand style. The eye may
be cheated by appearance and
size, as a tune confused by a
false bass, a fictious bundle of
trumpery in poetical impossibilities.
Fools talk of imitation and
copying, all is imitation, what
makes the difference,not genius
