Witch Hazel

There once was a witch named Hazel
Mistook poison oak for sweet basil
She finally conceded
New glasses, she needed,
For Halloween spells reappraisal

Green Plants

sun shines from above
to synthesize chlorophyll ...
green peas appear

my meal full of them
like herbivores and insects ...
sweet basil flavored

green snake hides
between the grass and creepers ...
bush rat approaches

Rosemary Thyme fell in love with
a spicy character who was Sweet Basil.
Her parents didn't Extractly like him,
because he Peppered them with Salty
words. So they would meet secretly.
One day however, she Cinnamon Cumin.
Her Poppyseed her, Anise he mad!!
To keep them apart, he put her on
the overland Sage bound for Oregano.

Premium Member Mulberries and Monarchs

Each year I plant an herbal garden
very near a stand of mulberry trees
and every Spring when they're in bloom
they attract butterflies and honey bees.

This morning, as I tended the sweet basil,
a young Monarch landed close to my hand.
Then, a cloud of them swirled around me,
and flew back to the mulberry trees to land.

For that moment I dared not move an inch,
mesmerized by the wooshing of their wings.
It was so memorable, that I'll never forget.
Their humming was like a song Nature sings.

I watched them flutter. Thirty, maybe more
before clinging on to leaves of vibrant green.
Their bold colors of black, orange and gold
looked just like petals as I watched them glean.

A SEASONED SONG
rose,oh rosemary
sweet aroma to me,
fragrant,my thyme with thee;
lovely lemon balm
ope'd hand is my palm,
mark! love's finger print,
indelibl'd with mint;
hold sweet basil at bay,
hark! these sage words I say
my evening primrose,
see my ardour grows
aside the mistletoe.
Such is this feverfew
in my lovage for you

Migrations

an open window
and a shout of girls with blossom sweet basil in the hair
over
the salmonoids rummage
the depth of the rivers
the springs want to find
to lay the spawn

in the darkness of an idea
a snake left a precious stone on the roadmargin
from now on the vineyards are blessed
a corypheus with a must jug
p*ss waiting for us at the gate

2

Badea Cartan is older and older
the way to Rome
cannot go
in the graveyard
stopped to read a book
p*ss blowing slowly over
yellowed leaves
stuck on autumnal words

3

they are scattered in a cornflower bed
warm love poems
a laios
the oracle listening
while
the sun sparkling
touched by the steamy ringlets
forming a cross

4

this year too
for God’s sake
we are healthy and can see grapes on the table

little November
cheerful
with a bunch of cockscomb
knocks at the gate

children’s large eyes
have a taste for the delicious apple and quince cakes

golden leaves on the margins
embroidered curtains with chrysanthemums at the windows

Capsa brothers
hurry up to serve general Joffre
a little chocolate top hat

5

under the eaves
nostalgia still nestling
a long way through the desert have to fly the swallows
to the evening service
the woodpeckers call us
on a path that leads to the mountain top
the moon
strolling
has at the breast
black currants and bilberries.

Premium Member Dappled Things

Oh, thank you God for dappled things-
   For skies of bright clear azure blue;
      For singing birds with lovely wings;
Fresh cool secret forest springs;
   Landscapes beautiful- and morning dew;
      Thank you for a cliff with an ocean view.

Treasures found along twisted paths, strange;
   Fragrant flowers growing that dazzle;
      Colors only nature can arrange;
And oh, delight- this patch of sweet basil.

Sweet Love of Mine

Walking down the quaint city street entering the sweetshop,
Oh yes! Hershey’s Almond Milk Chocolate tasty flavor
Sweetheart chooses sweet licorice and hot fudge brownie delight,
Sweetie pie and I flavor sweetmeat crystallized fruit.

Sweet tooth such a happy mouth vibrato to have;
Healthy sweet corn with sweet pepper and sweet-and-sour
Rest in front of my Dear Heart and I with a sweet pea,
Sweet cherry edible fruit on ice cream dessert, oh yum!

Sweet sultan annual herb varicolored flower in garden
Touches sweet acacia shrub fragrant flowers for perfumery,
Enjoying sweet basil on my sweet potato pie with my Sugar Love
Sweet nothings sound to wife trompe l’oeil painted photographic reality.

Sweet cicely herb white flowers brighten garden sipping
Sweet cider with cinnamon and raspberry shortbread warm
Soul with endearments, together speaking love honestly husband
Wife meshed together in all things sharing sweet clover; blessed.

Garden

I love farms and planting. We love green foliage. My small garden have grown. Taking care and work on it make me happy. I often water it. I really appreciated that several times of smooth rain in the last month. I like its followers. Today I saw Moringa, five years old. I looked at for a while. How beautiful is that white cute flowers! in an unexpectedly lucky way. The aroma of basil and green mint bless my soul.

My Room

I confide my self in a room
Large windows opening to a garden
Smell of honey suckles mixed with lavender and sweet basil
Venus fountain drips as birth sings winds dancing in leaves
The only wish I made a sound of my music to be a picture perfect

I confide myself in a happy loneliness nevertheless
Speak to every creature as my friend as we’d first met
Still feel incomplete till moon is full as seen in window
Move to a another room with larger window overlooking many gardens

The Ripe Olives and Red Wines of Florence
David J Walker

Austere is the way I remember
The convent in Florence

Perfectly white walls
And the small single bed fronted

By worn floors from daily
kneeling in prayer

A simple soup
will be served
At supper

My native guide says
Possiamo fare di meglio in città

Either way there will be
Ripe olives and red wine served with

Artisan bread dipped in garlic
Sweet basil and virgin olive oil
