Before the Gates of Alahsar - Original Version - 4

4.

Now things started to become clear,
Both Alahsar and Salahmar in the same space,
One would find Victory, the other, leave this place,
light and dark in the eternal battle.
Alahsar, of God's light,
Salahmar, of dark's evil joys,
which of them would wane away?
Devil's fear, or Heaven's glory.

For Alahsar, the city of light,
mortals, their lives laying down,
numbers falling as Algahrs push forward,
is this the end of light, hearts filled with hate.
From the golden gates a mighty moving,
women, they come forth with speed,
hate filled eyes and trembling cries,
yelling out their cry of war.

Still the foe were many more,
the Algahrs always to the front,
mightily they begin their push,
the might of dark within each beast.
Too hold the foe would take great strength,
strength was fading, ebbing away,
the Algahrs now did mighty push,
death and destruction on Badicha lay.

Still mortals stood, though blood did flow,
man and woman, power decreasing,
children watch from mighty walls,
as parents and friends meet their end.
Dark Man fighting, vengeance dear,
Warrior Queen spreading fear,
the bloodiest scene before the gates,
blood for blood,by sorrow's river.

Utamol, with almost life of own,
cutting, slicing, stabbing home,
Dark Man with his awesome grace,
Sends evil from this land of light.
Warrior Queen with power and speed,
destroying all this evil seed,
cries of pain are everywhere,
so many lost, their dead eyes stare.

On the plain great dust clouds rising,
screams of mortals and beasts fill the air,
lightning flashing, thunder crashing,
onward the struggle of life goes on.
Within the heart of living terror,
weapons crashing, teeth a-gnashing,
will miracle come to Badicha?
Shall mortals halt their slow retreat?

Alahsar's own are falling back,
dead and dying are underfoot,
now mortals they must hold the foe,
forward warriors, toe to toe.
No battle ranks or strategy to follow,
Hold position and strike down the foe,
Dark Man now in heat of battle,
Arlaghs feel the hate of Utamol.

In this time before time,
sorrow's song, the last song to be sung?
Strike with rage, power and might,
Become battle Gods, the power of light.
Cry goes up, "Walk in the light,"
the arms are weary, still fight for life,
still the battle crashes on,
what end shall be, before the dawn.

To Be Concluded..........

G Forms - Grook Poetry Contest - Constance La France, Theme 1. Death
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"All our affections are at the mercy of death, which may strike down those whom we love at any moment." Quote by _ Bertrand Russell

sitting with tears
watching a foolishly blurred vase
doodling flowers, a sun, a river, a hut,
a range of hills, hills, hills,
I fill the voids in my tender heart
created by my
kith and kin washed away
without a trace to the sea
when massive hill fell
on a sleeping village.

I Once Knew a Goddess

Written By: D. Collins 5/23/20

I once knew a Goddess, who gave me super human strength.
I've not had that kind of power in me ever since.
If I could reclaim that, which made me so strong.
I would seek repentance for all that I've done wrong.

I once knew a Goddess. who was beautiful, black, and pure.
The answer to all illness, even the broken hearted cure.
A fix for imperfections, and all my major flaws.
The Goddess I once knew, is what I'm telling ya'll.

I once knew a Goddess, who was so clean and pristine.
Not a blemish on her body, that had a problem with me.
She was Ill-Na-Na, plus ten times that.
I once knew a Goddess, unbelievably P-H-A-T.

I once knew a Goddess for over seventeen years.
One who gave me the power, to strike down all my fears.
Ever since then, I have not been the same man.
And, to have that again, I will do everything I can.

I once knew a Goddess who dawned a golden crown.
Reached out and picked people up, when they had fallen down.
That was the best thing I had ever experienced.
She made me a man, and gave me true deliverance.

Not many people can say, that I am so fortunate.
However, it was so enlightening that I will never forget.
I once knew a Goddess, that never brought dismay.
She gave me courage to stand tall, even to this day.

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Path We Persue

Life as understood by many resembles a journey traveled in a daze.
yet you feel lost, we can't help but carry on.
As we travel up the hill not knowing whats on the other side,
where the next curve begins, when to speed up,
or when to slow our pace.
Even as it seems at times we are blindfolded at very least,
human nature tells us to keep pushing through.
our best interest at that time is to put the path of life on hold,
and asses our situation. Even if common sense makes you believe it would be difficult
or even impossible to resume the path started so long ago.
When it all seems impossible or hopelessness stares you in the eye.
Now is the time to grasp our greatest tool in life, just as God said let their be light.
let our light be the knowledge and support of your friends & family.
Use this and not even the devil himself can use his power and influence to corrupt us.
When we have 100% faith in ourselves combined with love for all that is good and pure.
And the hope that our destiny is not being pursued in vain.
Only positive results are to be found.
If u reach hard towards your soul and gather the will to strike down all that is negative.
Then and only then do the clouds disperse the sun becomes radiant
and all becomes clear. And the realization that our goal is in our grasp once again.
so before i put this pen down and carry on with my quest of surprises
and not knowing whats to come.
a prayer has been said guidance has been asked,
and a sense of relief is then achieved.

Christmas Is Coming and This Is Why We Celebrate

Christmas! The most loved time of the year!
Holiday magic: decorations and festive cheer,
Returning festivities of this late December day
Is a world-wide celebration of one, whose birthday
Set the Christian world aflame back in history!
This ever since, has been regarded the start of AD.
Millions have followed his teachings since that day,
And despite persecution, true believers seldom sway!
Strong were His teachings: to love our fellow man!

It’s a tenet, in which many believe, and by which we can
Strike down adversity, if we follow the “righteous way”.

Confident in knowing, when comes our final day,
On our being called, to give account for past actions,
Most of us hope our family and friends reactions
In recalling our life’s deeds, will prove a delight,
Not a litany of ill deeds, as our sternest critics might!
Gifts given today, represent the Three Wise Men, who brought.

As Envoys, presents for the new born King they sought.
Not knowing whom they’d discover on their arrival?
Did know He would be essential for man’s survival.

They were made aware, by the arrival of a star,
He was important, so they’d travelled from afar
In search of the place where he’d be born.
Such was their joy on that auspicious morn

In finding he was somewhere in Bethlehem,
Secure in knowing they’d find the Saviour child,

Which was their sole aim and chosen intent.
Herding sheep on the hills, resting in their tent,
Yet aware events were unfolding, lowly shepherds

Were visited by angels, and paid heed to the news they heard!
Everywhere, church bells, rang out loud in joyful jubilation,
Calling all mankind to rejoice in the celebration,
Extolled a birth which would affect every nation!
Lying soundly asleep in a lowly manger, for a bed,
Every inn full: Mary and child sheltered in a cattle shed.
But from such lowly beginnings, his fame and teachings grew:
Remembered with joy at Christmas, as most Christians do:
Although many years have since passed, Believers celebrate
This day as His birthday. Upon this most auspicious date,
Everyone who “believes” will rejoice and participate.

The Gods Among Us

The breath of the demon kids
subtlety sweetens the air around mortal men.
Strike down! Strike down!
Their hateful hearts a'bound!
Bless them in a pool of frowns,
all 'kind can do is sin.
The gods among us fight the faze,
and see the world a'grin.
Bite down! Bite down!
The flesh of life is fresh,
knowledge most bitter only a glaze,
yea, dip said dope again.

The Princess In the Tower

Oh princess in the highest tower,
You're guarded by a dragon that will devour.
While I am but a broken knight,
The endeavor of saving you does excite.

So now I pick up sword and shield,
And march across this forsaken field.
I take the roads less traveled by,
The journey takes me far and high.

I make my way to your castle,
And let me tell you it was quite the hassle.
Fear grips me with every step I take,
But I must do this for our sake.

I see the dragon fierce as could be,
It advises me to bow down and plea.
I take up arms and strike a blow,
As the blizzard inside me begins to grow.

The creature lashes with all its might,
But I will not give up this fight.
I call upon all I know,
To strike down this deadly foe.

I pierce its heart with my blade,
Now the dragon begins to fade.
His life fleeting before my hands,
He no longer rules these lands.

Running up the tower I see a light,
This must be the end of my plight.
I open the door and behold your form,
Butterflies within me begin to swarm.

Princess I have freed thee,
No longer are you imprisoned by he.
Take my hand and let's make way,
For this is our glorious day.

Premium Member The Legend of Parson Uzzell's Pants

Bat Masterson was hired as a gamblin' boss at the Denver Saloon in 1891,
In a town high in the Rockies, Creede by name; he took no guff from anyone!

The rowdy saloon, restaurant and gamblin' hall ran twenty-four hours a day;
Bat patrolled the place with a pair of 44's on his hips to keep ruffians at bay!

One night he was approached by Parson Tom Uzzell who asked to preach,
As he was wont to do in minin' camps, hopin' fer errant souls to reach!

With misgivin's a sermon might dampen play, Bat banged a bottle on the bar
And told everyone to "remove yer hats while Parson Tom preaches over thar!"

After the sermon Bat directed a bar-tender to pass the hat for Parson Uzzell.
"Be generous with yer coin, then ya'll can continue with yer booze to guzzle"

"Boys, I'm a-thankin' ye", said Tom, "I'm gonna build a church in Creede!"
"I had a revelation from God; He said a heap of religion is what you need!"

Bat was a notorious practical joker and while the parson slept that night,
He had 3 of Soapy Smith's con men steal the parson's pants on the slight!

When the silver-laden pants pockets were emptied, $348 was tallied!
The raucous rabble agreed to double that amount when again they rallied!

$700 was collected; Bat put the pants and money in a safe in the saloon.
Tom roared into the saloon next day clad in red long-johns around noon!

Callin' on God to strike down the thief who had stolen his pants and money!
They laughed when Bat gave Tom his pants; even Tom thought it funny!

Honorin' the tradition of big winners, Parson Tom bought a round for all!
'Tis Colorado lore about the prank played on Tom in Denver Saloon Hall!

The Eternal War

The vile speaks

"You think you can defeat me?
I shall never be destroyed
If you send warriors
I shall rend them limb from limb
If you send wizards
I shall reflect their magics unto them
And watch as they writhe in the torment you meant for me
Neither your priests nor their prayers can prevail
Your god has no power over me

I am every lie
I am every vengeful thought
I am the temptation you cannot resist
You are doomed by your own humanity
And will forever be my slaves"

Humanity’s response

"We are free already
Saved by the very humanity you condemn
Our god provides more than you could ever offer
Seeking only justice we need no lies to reveal your evil

You may strike down the faithful
But to no avail, for they are already saved
Each wizard shall be reborn eternally throughout this age of war
Each warrior you destroy shall return amongst the angelic host
To oppose you more strongly from the next life than ever they could in this
Each act of destruction only serves to make us stronger
You will never win"

Civility

The words you can't ignore
the ideas unexplored
the exploited weakness of an ongoing war.
dig the paint from your nails, pull the screws from it's frame
bite down on the bullet as the bad blood is drained
swim through the clouds, and don't ever come down
talk to the half that's in need of a friend.
flip your old grin, into a crooked, chipped frown
for on the callous cold floor, your level again.

the mirror distorts, and your view is estranged
the perspective you trusted, compels you to change
why is it that in such a stupor, our soul is revealed
as the senses will fade, enlightened minds rear
to educate ourselves, and strike down the order
to choose what we learn, and the knowledge thats forged.

the will for exposure, a progressing motion
that defines our respect, dignity, and devotion
devotion to the pious, selfless and righteous.
to fend off the hordes of thieves and of liars.
pull back on the throttle, and breathe in an answer
spreading benevolence through the wind,
like a contagious cancer.

it's in these few moments, that words touch an audience
and the verity of an action, the truth of one's valor
is the symbol of resistance, and is judged by their credence
in the smoldering ring, of an engulfed company
live the smoky remains, of authentic civility

The Hero's Tune

Smoke drifts across the field,
explosions, distant and blurred.
Machine guns discharging rounds,
Scorpions launching slugs.
Flashes of fire,
plasma blue, violet and emerald.
Constant noise, deafeningly loud.

Longswords rocket above,
Banshees screeching past,
Seraphs wheeling about.
Carriers,
their strange curves and mauve plasma,
float ominously above, charging.
Beams strike down, waves of heat,
splitting of the ground beneath my feet.

Before me, as I run,
my comrades are impaled,
by phantoms.
Cyan double swords,
carving the air.

Glowing jade trails knock back my lines,
followed by lilac needles,
exploding on contact.

A whisper of the air,
as if it were shivering itself.
A mirage.
Moving fast, growling at the sight of me.

Searing pain,
the worst I’ve ever felt,
skewers my stomach.
I look down,
into the eyes of a monster.
Onyx eyes, large and livid,
Four jaws, razor teeth.
Gilded armour, highlights of burgundy.

Suddenly it screams, and I feel more pain.
Looking past this monster in gold.
I see another.
Black and platinum,
Faceless and unrestrained.
Blood red blades of light,
lancing the beast’s golden chest.
Indigo flows from the charred wounds
as the other draws its weapons out.
The monster slumps to its knees,
Gurgling and choking.

I fall to the ground as well,
 sliding off the cyan sword.
Night is creeping on my vision,
whispering of relief from the hurt.

There, standing above me,
the black and platinum being.
Robotic in appearance,
human in movement.
Staring down at me.

The last I hear,
from this monstrous savior,
is a strange tune.
Issuing from its helmet.

Arrested Soldier

We stand prepared for battle, our pikes thrusted toward the gullets of our adversaries.

Hastily we aim to strike down all we oppose.

Our nemeses match us with a fervor that scorches redder than our own flames of rage.

They perceive us a threat to their very ethos.

Slashing of skin underscored by the glitters discharged from steel upon steel exchanges.

Bodies amass as the carmine blanket flows.

Screeching shrieks heard as each soul withdraws from a once confident swain lay slain.

Mighty steed hooves surge the earthy dough.

All shall be gained or gone astray; for no more shall join the savagery of such hostilities.

Victory will govern the fortune of pitiable foes.

Alas, the moment granted by a lamentable contender that punctured my golden cuirass.

My fortune is not to see what will to follow.

Anger Mountian

This, a mountian.
Were plates shift.
A pules, Thermal in
Dynamic.
Rock, so dead-deep
in earth, past soil
Black rich into magma.
From waterfall edgy cliffs.
To Ice-glass , unforgivable shears.
This heat, blasts peaks.

I will strike down, onetime.
Hurtful climers, barbarous shoes.
Decide to clime? Decide to spirit dye.
Blowhard I, With vulture eyes
Scanning cycles, seeing carnage.
Hikers distract me, distracting.
I'm wishing to be that "Argos" Range.

My stone gray easy, unstable.
Silent frost of "loneblame" sumite.
The "sizeofmycrap" reads 66.6 oh and a 9.
To fools who cling on, Ignorent love,
I speak of "avalanche", cover you all,
In silent cold-thick,.

From foothills, I can see Tibet,
Save it for me.

Watch Them Fall

Hear them come trough the sky, now watch them fall on us all, it will kill, is over now,
we gonna go to heaven and let the world our, corpse to see, reveal the hate the world
holds for this life.

Bones covered by blood, we stand and watch, missile are falling down, warplanes, hazing
the sky, the clouds are turning grey and the waters black, the blood of our friends is
making a river on the streets.

A common strenght burying pleasures, now we look at the cross with reckless eyes, respect
for the dead, more fights, more of it to come, i saw them fall, you watched me die, what
was your first tough when the missiles strike down my lands?

Hold on, stop this now, loyalty wins the space, respect is unafected, get ready, we're
gonna die now, the earth is no longer ok, watch them fall, watch them bring beauty to the
world, you like it right, is what you wish for, now they hunt you down.

For a life well behaved, we are all innocent, deserve to remark the fact we all live ok,
so good when we cried for help and so soft the touch of mother, father fights war, i love
i can drink water again, but please don't forget we watch them fall...

Premium Member The Gristmill

A frigid landscape casts a bitter pall
over a barren nation of weary souls
imprisoned and laden under a regime
of hammer and sickle, numb and cold.

Regimented are the eyes of oppression
unblinking, endlessly watching
scrutinizing, searching, ever searching
grinding down the will, receding hope.

The slow wheel of the gristmill turns
burden of stone, its authority crushes
the spirit. Who can break this
massive millstone, treading over
the tormented masses?

A desperate angst arises to rid the
wretched bile that contaminates the land
strike down the carnivorous bear
and with sheer will and determination
break the terrible gristmill of tyranny.
