The Forgotten Spaceman
Lunar eclipse plunges me in shadow.
Orbital, I spin in the dark.
Nebulas, I am insignificant amongst many,
Extra-terrestrial, alone and apart.
Limbic, I drift with creation.
Interstellar, I reunite with my past.
Neutron stars, immense galaxy dustbins,
Eat planets while I watch, aghast.
Severance, I have never felt so keenly,
Screaming, cart-wheeling, into the dark....

Spaceman Vs Sea Monster
At the bottom, in her clutches, you’ve found your new home
Her ghostly embrace makes you feel more alone
Spaceman, at peace in the depth of your night
On glamour and glory, you’ve gotten too high
And somehow you slipped and crashed through the sky
...one day you just rocketed by
Earth’s son is drowning in a tub with the chills
The...

Premium Member Here He Comes, Mr Spaceman
The contestants gathered short and tall
Two-headed mutants lined the wall
Aliens from galaxies far away
Rehearsing, should they win, what they would say.

Some stood naked, though you couldn’t tell
Others wore apparatus and suits so swell
I heard one contestant shouting, as he drew his sword,
"You will NEVER win the Spaceman Of The Year award!"

"I will SO!”, replied the...

Non-Spaceman
I’m gonna count up to ten
I won’t ask you again
        Now turn in your gear
Get the hell out of here
And never come back here amen.

Spaceman of Life
Young men in virile stride
Pass to see the prize that awaits.

Competitive glares that will push the envelope
Who will stand to accept the honor?

"You will never win the Spaceman of the Year Award!!"

    "I will SO!"

Into the chamber for another test
  Mistakes made here cause...

Premium Member Spaceman
He was a spaceman not a man
He came from the sky one night
The day is remembered in history
It was like the arrival of an Arabian king
Or when Cleopatra arrived to meet Caesar
The word of the arrival tickled the ear
Of all that were near and far
They were all surprised by his unexpected turn
Surprised that the celestial...

Premium Member Spaceman Come Knocking
spaceman come knocking on my door
said he gonna tell the night
said he gonna tell the star

I said one day soon
he’ll be far
his eyes were bright
but mine were too

and he
most distant man I’d ever see
boots were wide
padded suit
to see him through the galaxy

yet I’ll be here
spaceman there
opposite points in history
with every life in between

spaceman come knocking...

Premium Member caught myself a spaceman
Caught myself a spaceman with a rah, rah, rah
Put him in a jar, all fresh, green, funny and raw
He looked at me and I knew that I frightened him
He was going to be my pet. I would name him Jim.
But wait someone said, doesn't he need holes to breathe?
I will not poke holes in him,...
