Song of a Teenage Girl 2/2

Concluding Part

PRELUDE
The song expresses the feelings of an Indian village girl. Her parents have fixed her
marriage (It generally happens in the rural areas of India, even to-day). She is about to
leave for the first time for her in-law’s place. She do not want to go to her father in
law’s place leaving her parents, her soul mates friends the animals and birds. The song
sketches the tender feelings of her heart for her Mother, Father and Brother & for the
animals and birds, whom she used to look after until now as her most precious friends and
who taught her how to sing a sweet song.

The Song of a Teenage Girl 2/2

Still if you have decided to send me to my in laws, place, O dear,

This year, O My Dear Father and Mother please,

Do not forget to send my brother on Rakhi*

So that I can tie up the Rakhi String* on the wrist of my sweet brother.

You know O Mother, being a newly wedded bride, I won’t speak much in my in laws place.

If I speak, who would bother to understand the feelings of my heart.

Still if you have decided to send me to my in laws, place,

O Mother, Please don’t forget, what I have told you today,

Only then, your daughter would be happy in her new alien place.

* Sasural. A Hindi word. Meaning father-in-laws place
*alien place. The place of in-laws generally remains alien for rural girls, as their
marriages are fixed by the parents & in some cases, even the husband remains totally
unknown to the bride.
* Koyal. The melody singing bird of India.
* Rakhi. Rakhi is a festival of siblings of opposite sex,
which symbolizes the love & the emotional bond between them.

Z Lovely 39

She comes in just before 6:30
Donald's ride will never be early
Their relationship is not kept under cover
She calls him her big brother
Now they both drive a 300, Donald says his is better
There is nothing like the smell of leather
Zena keeps hers cleaner, it holds more shine
She has a nickname I gave her, Z Lovely 39
She starts to freeze when the temperature dips below 79
Her heater is on full blast most of the time
Palmetto bugs, spiders and snakes
Zena will run a mile a minute to escape
Donald said he is thinking about moving his desk out in the warehouse to keep
from walking back and forth
5-2-9 suggests Donald buy some Dr. Scholl's cushioned insoles to prevent his
dogs from getting sore
Zena just got her new clothing catalog from 1-800-SO-FINE
It was addressed to her exclusively, Z Lovely 39
Another day starts with my desk neighbor, new adventures will arise
Donald will spend most of his day by her desk, comes as no surprise
He has romantic visions tumbling like a dryer in his mind
He will always big brother to Z Lovely 39

Premium Member April Stevens

In Niagara Falls was born Carol LoTempio.
Her new name “April Stevens” was the one we would know.
She has a sweet and sultry voice that sounds keen.
April first sang at the age of fifteen.
With the recording “I’m In Love Again", her career had begun.
This Cole Porter song was a hit in 1951.
April’s next record “Teach Me Tiger” had a bit of a rough go.
Many stations refused to play it on the radio.

In 1963, she joined her brother Nino Tempo.
“Deep Purple” became a hit everybody would know.
That was a song that went all the way to number one.
“Whispering” proved that their careers were not done.
They hit the charts one more time with “All Strung Out”.
That was another hit song without any doubt.
This brother and sister act gained great popularity.
Nino and April still perform today. They are a must see.

I thank both wikipedia.org online encyclopedia and Nino Tempo's official website for information I obtained to write this poem.

Medusa's Brother

Girls look in your direction and see you comin'
In the opposite direction, they start runnin'
You claim you are in excellent shape
Your face is a train wreck and you cinch in your gut with electrical tape
You drive a Yugo, it's color is Slime Green
You say you are just over run with bling bling
How can you claim you have the perfect life
You are married to an inflatable wife
Women look at you and begin to cuss as they run for cover
Somebody spray painted a name on the car, it reads Medusa's Brother
You have no clue why everyone calls you M B
You believe they are saying M D, you think it's short for Mac Daddy
You wear your favorite tee shirt that reads World's Greatest Lover
In the females eyes you will always be Medusa's Brother
Well M B, for you there is some bad news
You will always be singing the lonely man's blues
You have asked M TV to pimp your ride
They can fix your car but your face you can't hide
You say well, I guess it's true, a man's best friend is his mother
But did occur to you, your mom also calls you Medusa's Brother
