Best Seated Poems

Seated At the Right Hand of the Father

Good
at hiding
it
won't know to look at
handicap
disability
embarrassment, worse than bad breath

must have smacked my head against something
when I was playing good cop, bad cop
and I was the suspect
guilty of something
no doubt

Taken
downtown
for interrogation
on why
we didn't finish everything on the plate

Taken
downtown
to the experts
on why
this sorta thing keeps happening

Taken
down
to a low spot
on the carpet
that better get clean Right Now mister

Taken down
to the Department of Motor Vehicles
where you flunk the eye test
because you've got a
permanent
detached
something or other
which explains a lot

Like why I left,
why I lean left
dress to the left
get left holding the bag
feel left out
but don't see left
because father is always right
father is right handed

Deep Seated and Connected

Deep seated and connected
Deep seated and connected, my collection plate feels naked, been adjacent to ills and thrills of my spills, causing heartache. My thoughts go round and round like the earth rotates, I have expectations that haven’t come to pass, I had let go of meditating on the pass mishaps and just move forward best that I could, still trying. All awhile have to also let go of the few times I saw my life flash by, and never again contemplate suicide because I have no right to take my own life from the one who created this experience for me – because it’s a blessing either way it goes.
Either way it goes…
Sometimes I go backwards looking out window blinds waiting for my dad to show up, to save me, who knew that he needed to be saved too? Who knew that the things you go through builds character and creates, molding into shape to make your backbone stronger, I longer and hungered for things that were not for me to change, but my reactions to the chaos was more relevant for my future than I initially understood, but it’s all good. Deep seated and connected, my collection plate feels naked, been adjacent to ills and thrills of my spills, causing heartache.
Remembering being in the car with nowhere to go, no destination, riding around hoping to look to others like I was on my way to somewhere great, the lies we create to hide the things we despise. In the parking of a grocery store, watching the rain compile against my window pain, while trying to situate myself in a comfortable state to sleep the night, lock the car doors hope the boxes squeezed in this tiny space can detour anyone who walks by…I was thankful for the rain…it was right on time didn’t have to reach my tear duct eyes. My soul was in disarray.
Trials and tribulations are inevitable, the test that we face at times can seem unbearable, but in due time the light will too shine, and all the darkness will become the catalyst that make your resilience for life circumstances and situations easier to endure, I explore the peace that comes without cost, without boast, just the inner voice that says stay with me, walk with me, and don’t give up. I got you, I got you…

Stay Deep seated and connected.

Pandora Seated At Wrigley Field

(Poetry) let it thicken as it stands.

Let it be beautiful, unharnessed verbal rage or
song or deed, or graven image set in stone, where
walls fell around some demagouge in
some ill-remembered time.

$IN

In our arrogance we place this
joyous thing in

chain$

We seek to give it rules and charter, duties and forms but
the ravenous beauty of our thinking has outsmarted us.

and,
much like pandora's discretion,

when the first man (Or Woman)
-chicken or egg get over it-
pressed his stick to dirt and made his mark he unleashed a
torrent that can never be held at bay.

(Poetry) will not be held in fief, and the
Box which was held by the daughter of Zeus
     is
       open.

And I for one am glad of it.

Let it light our hearts ablaze and temper our
might with frost, let
the last vista overlooking the plauge of perpetuity be

LOST

PORTRAIT
YOUNG GIRL, SEATED, WITH VIOLIN

Scanning…

Her dress commands the scene,
Stifling the beige background drapes,
Flowing, engulfing a plush, roseate sofa

Can this have been a concert,
Either before or later?
Well? …What?
Does she actually play the violin she holds on her knee?
Or is it afterthought?

Such a pretty young miss,
Hair across her breast in one thick, long tail,
Face picture-painted, simple, no passion

Scanning…

Hey!
This is no artist!
Her music lay rumpled, scattered on the floor
If the Kruetzer Sonata, it has been badly played

Premium Member Two Large Ladies Seated At a Bar

Seated across from me at a bar were two large women with accents.
"Cool accents," I said, "Are you ladies from Scotland?"
"It's Wales." one snapped back, "you stupid moron."
"My apologies," I said, "Are you two whales from Scotland?"

Seated Woman With a Parasol

Sitting on the love seat,
Today I feel a moth
Bodily peeled from its chrysalis
To meet the world’s dim eyes
And worrisome gales.
God left precisely X years ago.
I had no use for one afterwards,
Until I met your breath along
The sinful clamor inside my veins.
And I am caught between duty-
Should I build you into a shrine
Of eternal unfaith-
And the wildling taste at the roof
Of my mouth- do I crush your
Grandness of the wrist,
Under the ball of my foot,
The one you kiss before you
Reach the troubled line of my leg.
My butterfly confliction
Succumbs to your godless ways.

Deep seated Blues

This ugly colour, long lived – sung, can be cathartic.
Setting free destructive moods – escaping the harsh Artic
waste lands, as one births her voice – begins to sing
of all – their essence, their understanding - aloud, will bring
to this, sad, – lost in the history of your time -
wasted emotions traversing the pathways of this rhyme.
A song of cathartic notes, brings joy, a peaceful way
in which to begin life anew, start a brand new day.

To this world, coloured in blue, let us pray
that all the pain – created – will fade away,
making room for rays of sun light to shine,
to light up a path, a wealth of experience to mine,
– for gold, the brass ring – the freedom to find
the meaning this ode, this voice, that has told
to the sight of the listener, so she may unfold
and choose to take a much smother road.

Our Birthright

Our birthright is to clearly see
What God reveals and speaks of thee
In spirit's realm, we must engage
Before things manifest on life's stage
To this majestic force we yield
Our worldly discourse now revealed
With Christ, we rise to heavenly places
And embrace a life of new graces
A resurrected lifestyle we lead
Empowered to meet our every need
As we grasp the depth of this truth
We ascend to higher view
From this vantage point, we boldly face
Earthly challenges with steadfast grace
For in this higher, sacred sphere
Doubt and fear no longer interfere
Our purpose and destiny to fulfill
And live out what God planned with skill
For we are free, our spirits fly
To reach the heights and touch the sky.

Premium Member Their Promises Are Seated On the Peak

How high their ship…she’s sitting on the waves.
Bob-stopped at top of ferris wheel. Their might,
a flood about their feet - they dare not breathe.
The teeter-tottering might sink them quick.

Her formerly unbalanced stance, so drunk.
The utter-wave that drives her down and up.
The shipmates think of home and more so then.
Ship ascends Everest to bump the sky.

What hell! What depths! The slide at breakneck speed.
The fear! Except the Lord does intercede…
The tears they weep on their way down. The begs
begin, to promise God all sorts of things.

Their promises are seated on the peak.
And will they speak of them again? Will death
or life relieve their fears? Forgotten deals -
vows read as each one stands before the King.

Longa in English means a musical note with a time value equal to two or three double whole notes: In modern notation, a longa is usually represented as semibreves tied across two measures.
I might change “in longa” to maestra in the future for a teacher who is always tired, lol.

Premium Member Seated Together at James Earl Carter’s Funeral

God’s timing impeccable, bringing
together presidential adversaries, ringing
in the new year, giving us a chance
for revival. We hear about truthtelling stance.
We shall all pass into the great beyond;
Will these politicians find a way to bond,
Put aside their swords of tongue and lash,
so in heaven, no need for teeth to gnash?
Will these men and women embrace the Lord,
enter the pearly gates in one accord?
One could hope of such peace, if ears
would open, repeat the words of God, fears
tossed to the sea, aha moments to glean,
put away all impurities, dishonesty, and hold
to the greatest government above the clouds.
My shoulders shake, my eyes drip pearls. Crowd’s
mannerism, will they be shaken from unbelief
and hug one another, not just in grief
but truly love, dare I say love and other
in all the New Testament ways of sister and brother.
L.A. on fire, N.O. run over, evil restrained,
yes…restrained for in demonic force sustained,
we’d tear out the hairs of our heads, unless
we have the seal of God, like Passover impress
upon our heads, Christ’s blood upon our heart’s door.
A lighthouse beams - the sailor, Carter comes ashore.
Imperfectly, in our humanity, we enter God’s presence,
yet covered by His perfect sacrifice; His omnipresence
felt, but might each one regret past sins, fly
with the Holy Spirit, sanctified to begin again. I sigh
at the thought, for all mankind will bend both knees,
humbled; or ecstatic at His glory, for they aimed to please.

Saw a sign in a washroom that changed my stance
“Please remain seated for the entire performance”
For the ladies, it's not a choice
It doesn't apply to us boys
We can write our name in the snow, while we dance
