I searched a rescues site
To adopt a pet for me
When I saw her face
That moment -I knew
My heart skipped a beat
I fell in love with a cat

Your coat colors of many
So beautiful to me
Your eyes a lovey green
They sparkled brightly
That is your name
Chosen just for you

I was told your story
When i came to see you
I told the lady"-She is mine"
On the way to your new home
I ma\de many promises to you
Which I kept for you

Welcome to your new home
A new life that is better
A home filled with love
When ready to the house
This is your new home
Filled with love for you

Sparkles is 9 years old and affectionate. The call came Feb. 9th. I brought her home Feb. 10th.

I Searched In Vain

I had and lost a love so sweet, so fair
It came about by chance so quick and rare
There was no time to think of wrong or right
Love came and stayed to help us through the night

We met and talked while time had stopped it seemed
As time stood still I found what I had dreamed
I asked her name, she laughed and said, "Be still.
If this should last beyond tonight, I will."

The night of love flew by on wings of fears
The thought to lose this love at light brought tears
But through it all the joy of hope pressed on -
The sun came up, a kiss and she was gone

I searched and watched to see her face again
But deep inside I knew I searched in vain
And now I'm old I lived as best one does
I sit and think and wonder who she was

A Soul-Searched Stretch of Despair

A soul-searched stretch of despair
Emits from the pores of these tears…
Staring off in an emptiness I embrace
A place so stark of life
So lost…glad to be misunderstood
Yet frustrated by the lack of empathy
The lack of sense…
Words oozing in an unfeeling mess…
To exist… to merely exist
Does it not baffle you?
Does it even cross your mind…
That you…and your thoughts… are so
Incredibly alone...?

...

Or is this soul lost in sorrows…
Sorrows you can never dream to behold?

Premium Member I Searched Centuries For You, My Love

Several times I have glances of a,
Past life in a time that is,
So familiar to me, just not this one.
The one thing I always remember is a,
Woman whose beauty and those,
Deep blue eyes I will never forget, ever.
It was the age of King Arthur,
Camelot and the magic of Merlin.
Then it goes away and I'm back,
Only remembering someone I use to love.
I dream of her at night only waking,
Up with tears in my eyes knowing,
I have lost her all over again.
Definitely dreading this meeting,
With my boss opening the door I see her,
Like I'm magically thrust back into the past,
Cam, Is it really you ??
She walks up to me like a dream,
She stands in front of me,
Touching my cheek she says yes I'm real,
I have searched centuries for you,
As she kisses me I hold her tight,
Never wanting to let her go,
As I hear my boss say Tell Zeus,
I'm glad I could help.
Yes Percy I certainly will.
Percy Seriously ??
Yes Queen Lauren I was protecting you,
Until they could come back for you,
Until it was safe out of Olympus.
After all King Arthur is your cousin,
He awaits your return.
The kidnappers are in the Brigg.
Queen Cam are you ready to take,
Your beloved back to Olympus.
Yes we're ready.
The kids are dying to see both their mothers.
Come on Lauren let's go home.

The Girl Who Searched For Horizon

She once ran and ran swiftly;
Over the green wet meadows and
Down the shallow valley land
Crossed the narrow long bridge
To reach at the beautiful ridge
Where the sky kissed the earth lovingly.

Tired she sat down looking sadly,
She thought it was near somewhere
But couldn't find the lovely place nowhere
As a flower that was about to wither
As a sad heroine of some writer
She still looked at the sight longingly.

She was dark and lovely;
Like she reflected nature's raw beauty
Her tiny eyes shined brightly
Like it holds full of energy and life
Her hair was long and swayed like
It was dancing in the breeze lazily.

Her innocent lovely smile suddenly,
Spreading on her curious face
Seeing a small dove flying apace
Felt like she forgot about finding
The horizon that she found interesting
When her eyes saw the bird quickly.

Swaying hands while running quickly;
Little feet covering short distance
It felt like God has showed his brilliance
When he dolled up the angel like doll
I pray never the Lord let her fall
And always love and embrace her softly.

I Searched For Noah's Ark

The gulls are soaring
Diving for food they’ve located
The beach filled with dead crabs
I am a sailor in the night watching the star
confuses my mind so tired....so tired.

White clouds covering the blue sky
Enchanting me making me dream
Yet when the moon
And the clouds disappear
The dreams turn into a nightmare
And hard it is to understand.

I Will search for tranquillity
I shall locate the ship before it leaves
Where will I search?
This is I, this is me, this is life;
Noah's Ark in the mist of the horizon
I swim, fast and faster
I will climb the ladders of rope
I will congregate with life...again.

The dog and the barks at me
Waggling their tails in joy
I pat their heads
They bite my soul!

The Tom cat shagging in contempt
The female cat screaming with pain;
I watch.....Nature taking place
I am stunned and confused
As playfully they lick each other.

The bull is lying on his back
The cow feeding her calves
No time to drink milk said I
Grapes of divinity shall quench my thirst
Whilst drunk I search for a goat.
With a heart that loses its thumping
The lungs stops me breathing.....
For a while....

The horse, the mare, the donkeys
Crunching damp straw
The rain still pouring down
And I am still thirsty,
As the birds and the bees make themselves known.

Earth and sea are one
A city has been lost to the dolphins
As the sharks bite through the boat,
My house is now empty,
The family no longer waiting
How hard it is to be a good
How easy it is to be bad.

I searched high and low
On the mountain peaks
In the green meadow
In every verdant and serene place
Of my mind, I searched
Hoping to find them

I dipped in the streams
Of my ever flowing emotions
I spent time
In the sheltered cavern of my soul
I lay in the sun drenched valley
Gazing up at the wispy clouds
Of my thoughts
Hoping…
Hoping to find them

I searched high and low
In the chambers of my heart
Going through each one
The warm gushing life giving flow
The rhythm of my dreams
Pounding in my ears
Breathing in the oxygen of love
Seeing it mix
The vital essence of my life
Lapping at my feet
Hoping ….
Hoping to find them

I searched high and low
In my own little universe to find them
They were not

So I turned my eyes to the outer universe
I lay down on the soft grass at night
Looked up at the inverted tea light stars
Spread on the rich black table cloth of the heavens
On which powerful hands had spilt
The white stream of the Milky Way
My finite thoughts lead beyond
Beyond….
The mysteries of here and now
Traveling to find
The essence of love
Scrawled in the stars
The meaning of YOU
I searched and searched
There were not to be found

I came back
There you were
Standing before me
Resplendid
Divine
Beautiful beyond description
Then…..then I looked into your eyes
My outer universe
My inner universe combined
There in the light of your eyes
I found them
I found them
In the sparkling of a tear
That held onto your lash
As you drew me near
Whispering into my hair
That you love me
I found them
The words
The illusive words that show
What you mean to me….
But they fluttered away
In an instant
In the warmth of your embrace
Before I had a chance to utter them
And so
I closed my lips over yours
And I let my tongue speak

Sometimes Stories Are To Be Searched For

Sometimes stories are to be looked for

The words are to be weaved in

Some emotions are to be beaded

Then some smile and tears along with fears

Like moon and stars are to be tucked in

Then you have a story turned into a good story.

I Have Searched

I have searched my entire life
For a man as good as you are to me
I have longed since childhood
For someone to believe in me
I have walked a thousand miles
For a love I didn't find until now
I have spent all my life
I have spent all my time
Crying until now
I once dreamed of a love so true
I pondered on thoughts of passion
I wondered if I would ever feel it
And now I have this devotion
Searching myself I wonder
How long can true love last
When it is tortured so
Will it be rescued at last
Can distance and time make us strong
Or will it tear us apart
The thought of losing you makes em weak
Knowing there would be distance to start
I don't know how much more
That my heart can take
I've been packing my heart with ice
And putting everything I have at stake
Yet is love enough to carry
All this weight and sorrow I feel
This horrid abandonment that consumes me ?

I Searched You

I know, it isn’t so easy,
To pursue a child for forgiveness,
I know, it is easy to say,
A lesson of patience is too hard.

Believe me or n’t,
It is best way of living,
You can stop innocent shying,
Or can save your innocent tears.

You were always heavy on me,
When my women were pregnant,
You always cried for revenge,
When my children were grown up.

Time to time, day to day
You searched me and I searched you,
But never learnt a lesson,
No mistake has delivered a lesson.

My heart Searched for Your True Worth

It's time for me to make a change
My life I need to re-arrange
Before it spins into a wreck
Hopefully there's still a speck
Of glimmer and hope so I
Can muster up the strength and try
For finding another chance
As my life gets more enhanced
With good that I've never known
Only bad days have been shown
In my life---I can't remember
A happy time that has never
Turned into so wrong and bad
I wish I could finally have
A smile upon my face
And get out of the sad place
That has tortured me for years
I want to cry happy tears
As hours are getting brighter
And my heart is so much lighter
Filled with joy and happiness
That are plenty and endless
And I know it will soon start
As another lonely heart
Understands where I have been
Soon becoming best of friends
Helping one another through
With love that is always there

Lost Petal

Beneath every roses,
I searched for your petal...

That last leaf is my respite,
You are a beauty in my heart...

The soil that shed my tears,
Created that lost rose...

That last leaf is my respite,
You are a beauty in my heart...

Beneath every hearts,
I searched for my soul...

A last respite in my heart.

I searched
so hard,
trying to find
the me,
in myself

This is not Tanka it is Gogyohka, a fairly new form growing out of Tanka. I think I have the form correct, but i have not yet investigated the tone and
intricasies of the content. Keep watching for this as I think it will catch on quite quickly. The form is to take a poem about the length of a haiku and take out each mini phrase within the total phrase and arrange them in five lines. Joann Grisetti introduced it to me last week. It is kind of hard to determine if a one, two or three word group is a complete mini phrase.
