Saša Milivojev - SLEEPWALKING
Silent
The Skies are silent
The Moon awakes me
The Night gently embraces me
You are no longer on the shore
Where with salt ourselves we smeared
Dreamed and to the Sea we used to croon
Oh, my Beloved,
Unfold
For me the stairs of the Moon
Plush toys I shall scatter
Down our dunes of sand
The memories are calling me
Wait for me

Saša Milivojev - NOT AFRAID OF FATE
Again
I am born again
First breath
Pain
Crying
Again I see arrays of colours
Everything has changed
What madness
It’s like a fairy tale
The taste of mother’s milk
I stretch
I grow
Lost in the sounds of a dream
The light plays
At the verge of time
Crawling on scratched knees
When I unknowingly said
Momma
From a distant memory
Walking
Going up and down the stairs
Eager to try it all
Wandering far away in my thoughts
Speaking with nature
Intoxicated by her melodies
And when they yelled at me
Don’t do that and that
Through life I walked
Clairvoyant and blind
To kindergarten
Where I met friends
With bat ears
And there I sat alone
Not vain
But lonesome
Lost
In my own landscapes
And when I burned the colouring books
And discovered the sound of the school flute
When I felt the strength of written words
That heal the darkness
I wrote
I played and sang
Until I fell in love for the first time
And woke up again
Biljana
Marija
Tijana
Hermina
Marina
Dragana
Sladana
Who would think
That I loved so much
And played music for them
First cigarettes and drunkenness
Bad company
I see myself in the fog
When I was a boy
Who could not show emotions
When I created illusions
Of having friends
Behind the darkness
Friends that know my
Secret behind a sigh
They laughed behind my back
When I painted too
In each effort of mine
They saw an unsound mind
Let it be
I fight
Not afraid of fate
And loving my age

Sasha And The Rain Song
Tapping at the window of my heart
Sasha with the summer in her eyes
Painted like a timeless piece of art
Hidden in the vision of my rhymes
She smiled and shared a moment in my life
And then the moment slowly disappeared
As if the moment was ever really mine
And the smile was even there for us to share
She read the words that I have worn
And asked which I have liked the best
I told her deep inside I’m sworn
To never judge above the rest
She said her heart was in a rain song
A tune she heard so long ago
I told her mine was in a love song
In search of fruit to help me grow
I took her hand and held it gently
I felt her spirit deep inside
She filled the emptiness within me
And brought to life what long had died
Our eyes met one last twinkling glance
Before I turned to say goodbye
The pitter patter of sweet romance
A song of rain and fresh desire

Saša Milivojev - TO THE DREAM MARKET
I throw memories down the well
And, leaving, I hear the echo of tears
I do not want to have my face
Treading on my own verse
Tied in knots
Like a frightened doe
I run across the glass bridge
To the old place
Where Light and Darkness part
Where sweet dew awaits me
To play a man again
To hear the sound of a horn
To reach the market where dreams are sold
Where they cure aches and memories
You will never hear me laugh
For I still mould my sin
And wait
Wait for you
To cross the glass bridge

I felt your presence in my heart this morning,
I think about you when I'm alone
Or when I stare at your photograph,
I am sorry I couldn't be there for you,
When you breathed you're last and crossed
Over the rainbow bridge into heaven,
After I hugged you in the hallway
I had to go to work,
But I didn't want to go,
I wanted to be there for you,
I wanted to hold you and comfort you,
Because you were always there for me,
Like the time I was sick in bed
And you wouldn't leave my bed side,
Or the time you waited out in the snow
For me to get home from work,
And those summer mornings when we
Would sit together in the open doorway,
And watch the neighborhood come to life,
Now you are in a place created by God,
Where cherished pets and former
Owners will one day meet.
Saša Milivojev - A CHALICE OF GORE
Silence bites
Below school's stairs
Trickling tears of fervent gore
From thy brethren's veins
Their cups to the rim they pour
All is shattered in the blast
Heavens echoing with silence
Dracula is licking his lips
Threading fingers through their tears
Pouring for his laughing friends
Ask why, if you dare,
on your blood they're feasting
you may lose your ears
the screwdriver your skull may be piercing
Chainsaw by the school
Truckloads of dead bodies
Buckets of ice of kidneys galore
Bloody lakes bear witness
Yet the World 's watching
Mercilessly
My torn heart
Still is beating
While a crow my heart is eating!
In that chalice of gore
Flows all evil of the world
In it glisten child's eyes innocent
Shattered by the blitz
Voiceless stone
Sing of malice
Of the stake
Of the rope
Never will it pass
Our torment's toll
Rivers of blood will forever flow.

WELTSCHMERZ ("WORLD PAIN") - THE PAIN OF THE WORLD
In this century withal
Rivers of blood still flow
Bombs echo
Children are being killed
Heads are being severed
Millions are starving
Diseases are devouring
And you are singing
The gallows are trembling
In the valley of the fallen
In the salty tears
With our putrescent sores
We fall prey to the crows
Our festering entrails
For the starving wolves
A shattered house
Little boy is weeping
Over the body of his Father
That forever now is sleeping
Schools Temples and bridges bleeding
bloodstained wedding guests are screaming
Little white coffins
Maternal howls
Above Uranus
Hear the painful growls
Delirious poets are prattling
And not a word are you uttering
They blinded you
When they raped your daughter
Strangled ‘er with the wire
They abducted your brothers
Tortured in the cellar
Shattered their fingers
With ferrous clubs
With a saw agape their skulls
Their legs wagons lacerated
Their limbs with machete dissected
Flayed the skin of their backs
Dumpers of corpses
Bulldozers to the grave consigned
Roads run over their bones in cement confined
Bodies filled the bottomless well over the brim
Come closer
Look within
The infinite darkness of the abyss
To hear the silence of the universe
A spark is glistening in an innocent eye
Children are helplessly falling to the dust
Venomous saliva dripping from their mouth
As their rosy intumescent faces bust
In their closing prayer
Reverends to a cross immured
Laughing at the stake they burned
Tender ivory cherubs
Flew away like a flock of birds
Rip my heart out from my chest
As I am unsleeping
May your golden ship catch wind away from shore
To raise your glass of blood once more
As you feast your eyes in silence

Sasha
I remember when I held your hand
And told you about God,
You listened so attentively
And never thought it odd
I remember when I kissed your head
And watched you go to sleep,
We prayed that if you didn’t wake
The Lord your soul would keep
And as you grew I saw your faith
Grow right along with you,
And you included Jesus
In everything you’d do
I became your hero
With me you knew no shame,
Because I followed Jesus
And taught you to do the same
Every time I talked to you
You learned a little more,
You grew and took the things you learned
As you walked out the door
You had your tribulations
And your fair share of strife,
But Jesus had His hand on you
And guided you through life
As it goes, we lived our lives
And struggled through our days,
You chose to follow Jesus
I went the other way
You got big and I got small
As we went through the years,
I got weak and you got strong
You helped me with my fears
I remember you came to the park
And took long walks with me,
You told me Jesus loved me
And He would set me free
I remember when you held my hand
And watched me fall asleep,
And prayed that God would show me
My weary soul He’d keep
Now you’ve become my hero
With you I know no shame,
Because you followed Jesus
And taught me to do the same
Saša Milivojev - VOLCANO
Below the naked sky
A hole is seething
An avalanche is boiling
The sun is melting away
Who protects you
From the burning rain
Now that you are gone

Secrets a usually kept hidden
but a secret like how much I
find you attractive can't be
kept hidden coz it shows every
time am with you.
Amazement, wonder,
astonishment is what happens
each time I look into your
eyes coz you seem to always
take my breath away. Stars a
planets that yet so far light up
the sky, you may not light up
the sky but you will always
light up my life with just a
smile. Handled with care
should be the only way your
treated coz that's how jewels
should be kept. Agony is
knowing what exactly you
want but not being able to get
it, that's how I feel when it
comes to you.
Saša Milivojev - A CRY
Apollo’s discus
Fine blond hair
The echo of the universe
The strong winds of Zephyr
The sun’s heat
Melted the wax wings
And I fall again
Why am I not a shadow
To be torn into two pieces
In the air
Why do I not have an apple instead of a heart
To have an arrow driven through it
Why is uncertainty so agonising
Let the blade cut the neck
A curse
A choir is singing
Purple colours of dreams
A verse fallen from the lips
The thirst of withered lilies
From whose petals
We will hear a woeful
Cry

May came and flowers of all colors and shapes declared their earthly glory;
their perfumed wafts mixed with the spring morning crisp breeze
entered my nostrils, but their strong aroma made me sneeze...
while cherry and apple blossoms smelled like the fair skin of young Mary!
Towards noon, Fields of Sasha Daisies waved under the wind's warm breath as a gift,
and with that beautiful image in mind, I sought the perfect flowers for a lovesick girl;
ah, they were very tempting, so I picked them with a gardener's precise craft!
Did I forget to ask her the real reason that made her bluer than a lonely bluebell?
I often spoke to her, but her unhappy smile hid a mystery I couldn't solve:
had Mary lost love or was forbidden to have one? But why cling to fears?
I had hoped that giving her my flowers would have made her believe in love...
someone who cared and was willing to listen sparing her useless tears!
Returning home, I heard two Marines telling Mary, " We're sorry, Brian fell to the foe! "
And seeing me holding Sasha Daisies, she ran and embraced me to express her woe!

THE GREAT DYING
THE PESTILENCE
It’s raining snake venom
from the clear blue skies,
millions of bacteria,
stench of excrement,
genes of mice and rats,
lead powder dust, quicksilver droplets,
on the planet of the “reptiles”
piles of human corpses.
They poisoned God no less,
and all else is vague,
Here comes hunger and agony,
rabies, AIDS and plague.
Put your mask on.
Lock up your doors.
Street is not the place to be,
The horror is outdoors,
the devil has come,
to take you to the camp,
the great dying has begun.
Prepare to retaliate!
Below the camp they are harrowing
it’s gas chambers they’re preparing.
And I am stealing time,
blood-soaked to my knees,
to defend myself with explosives,
as the fool once said:
“Graveyards will be too small for us all”.
Even on the verge of the abyss, no less,
in the face of pestilence be fearless,
someone will remain,
children will be birthing just the same,
Thy will be done,
noone can extinguish the Sun.

Saša Milivojev - TO PUT THE SUN OUT
They are leaving
Through my dirty windows
I see the shadows in the distance
The sound of footsteps disappears in the silence
And a voice lures me
To scream out my tears
To return into my madness
To forget everything
To hang my soul on the washing line
My heart to stop the earth
To put the sun out
The End

Saša Milivojev - LARVAE
Nine
Evening
A bright speck soars
Darkness from the sky
The spinning of a wedding dance
The sound of waves crashing
Against the rocks
Lava runs through the veins
A multitude of larvae
Behind the rocks
Shine instead of moonlight
