Letter To My Beloved Sasha

I felt your presence in my heart this morning,
I think about you when I'm alone
Or when I stare at your photograph,
I am sorry I couldn't be there for you,
When you breathed you're last and crossed
Over the rainbow bridge into heaven,
After I hugged you in the hallway
I had to go to work,
But I didn't want to go,
I wanted to be there for you,
I wanted to hold you and comfort you,
Because you were always there for me,
Like the time I was sick in bed
And you wouldn't leave my bed side,
Or the time you waited out in the snow
For me to get home from work,
And those summer mornings when we
Would sit together in the open doorway,
And watch the neighborhood come to life,
Now you are in a place created by God,
Where cherished pets and former
Owners will one day meet.

Don: I've just finished 4 of your great works. Each got better as I continued. This is a wonderful capstone. I'm one of those "pets in heaven guys". Wrote a lengthy rhyme about my lovely Snickers. Sasha will be as pleased to see her master as you will be to see yours. Keep them coming. oldbuck
