As the Earth Revolves Around

Outside stars sparkle while daffodils await the morning sun.
Crickets sing their cheery song hoping for a night of fun.

Roosters and hens sleep hidden, snuggled in branches of trees.
Owls are awake, looking around, feathers ruffled in the breeze.

Inside, folks are fast asleep without a sound or a peep.
The sun is on the other side, warming the shepherds’ sheep.

Around the world people love and hate, it happens here and there.
Let us turn our hearts to peace; show tolerance everywhere.

Let us set aside our greed and use only what we need.
Let replenishment be man’s rule of thumb…please, God speed-

Value thrives in the soul of a man, not in what he “owns”.
Wisdom holds the key to love and to the Creator’s throne.

The heavens shine a warming glow; it does not hesitate.
Likewise let us show forth love and bring earth’s peaceful state.

Before the daffodils look up, let us end hate’s bitter cup.
Love one another around the world…God’s creatures…waking up.

When the night sky sparkles each star as earth revolves around.
May wisdom fill the heart of men and peace on earth abound.

Standing on a hill of Jezreel,
Watching growing corn in the field,
Listens she does to the birds’ song
And to the trilling crickets’ chirp.
The sun now pass the most far hills
Means the days’ work is over and done.
Soon the night guard will shut city gates
And all eyes will yield to the dark.
By music of the spirit of silence,
The visions of rest are made to dance.

Then in the middle of the darkest night,
She arises from slumber and the bed,
And leaves the sweet relaxing visions
She had waltzing through her head.
Laying aside all her night garments,
Off she runs to her nightly chore.
Running around the corn they planted,
Makes her sacred circle ‘bout the field.
Magic footsteps giving blessing
By her dance and dark undressing.

Soon passed the summer season
And away went her warmest sigh.
Corn in green and golden garments,
Stood in ripened splendor gleaming.
With its emerald sheaths bursting,
Send its gold rays into the sky.
To the harvest come young maidens,
To strip the ears of their garments,
Laughing under the spreading trees,
They sing the blessings of Jezreel.

The Loser

There was a guy who was a real loser
Only because he was quite a boozer.
He'd drink and drink and drink all day
Then he'd drink the night away.

He could not keep a job because of his habit
Always blaming something else, as he drank about it.
He would talk at the bar as he was a real gab
Couldn't pay for his drinks, so they kept a tab.

After losing a job for the fourth or fifth time
He almost went into a life of crime.
He didn't know how to get out of this hole
And always seemed to be on the dole.

One night on his way to another bar
He heard some singing from a church not far.
The music enticed him for a look see
Imagine his surprise at inside there who'd be.

It was a young girl, maybe nine or ten
He hadn't seen her since he could remember when.
Her angelic face was one of the keys
With her sweet voice...brought him to his knees.

He knew at once he was being shamed
By a power so great, now only he himself could be blamed.
For there was the Lord asking him, "Why,
Did his little girl come to the church and cry?"

The quiet words that a child implored
Heard up in heaven, by the Almighty Lord.
It was that moment when grace grasped him
Shook him awake, to recognize his sin.

After that night he cleaned up his act
For with the Lord he had made a pact.
From now on, sober would he be
And his daughter again, her father would see.

For the Lord had heard the prayers of this little child
Turned to her father, making him timid and mild.
Many years went by as then these two
Once again, into a family grew.

He found a job that he worked for the next twenty years
Thanking God each night, as he fought back the tears.
So, if there is something that you need in your life
Put it in the hands of the Almighty, Who alone can calm your strife.

Don'T Forget Every Night At Eight. You Pray, I Pray, We'Ll Make It a Date

Don’t forget every night at eight
You pray, I pray, we’ll make it a date!

You can pray to help your heart
To heal the sadness when we’re apart

I’ll pray for things to get easy
When we say goodbye, to not feel queasy.

You can pray for mommy to get her own place
For your own room with lots of space.

I’ll pray for you to be happy
And for your daddy to not be snappy

You can pray to see me everyday
And ask God for everything to be okay

I’ll pray that the angles protect you
And your sister and brother too

You can pray and ask for anything
He listens to all, he is our King.

I’ll pray all night for you my son
Hoping tomorrow brings you nothing but fun

I’ll pray for you to understand
To never stop reaching for my hand.

I’ll pray that everything will work out
That my love for you, you’ll never doubt

So Don’t forget every night at eight
You pray, I pray, we’ll make it a date!

He Died

Jesus died on the cross for us,
But the Devil makes us lie and curse.
We cry all night and day,
People tell you not to cry.
But all you can do is ask why.
"Jesus save me here my cries, save me."
"Take away my sins.
I feel like I'm getting stabbed by pins."
So as we say,
"Jesus save me from night and day."
