Nymphomania

I have been called a sex god
It has been said that
I radiate an aura of pure sexuality
I stopped telling my friends stories of my exploits years ago
Because they don't believe me
For instance
My last lover was a 54 year old paraplegic actress
I once gave a girl dozens of orgasms within a single minute
And can reproduce this feat at any time on any woman

Every inch of my body is fantastic
Like a machine fine-tuned for sexual pleasure
My sex drive is monstrous
Unending
Makes me crazy
I only stop to smoke cigarettes once every few hours
And I don't have a refractory period

All this is true
I'm probably a nymphomaniac
But it doesn't matter
Because I hate people
Because I hate dating
Because I have nothing to prove
Because the cosmos are indifferent
Because economizing sex disgusts me

I'm generally quiet
Try to keep a low profile
But inside
a Martian sex dragon
Breathing passion and lust
Inside
Roaring madly alone, tortured
Clawing at my skin
Chomping on my bones
Gnashing on my brain like a chew toy

I pretend not to care
I like to think it doesn't have an affect on me
But it is me
And I hate it
And I love it

stars revere the rising sun and bow out of sight,
refractory shadows lift, revealing rays of light,

illuminating, misty, ruffled, canopies on trees,
rippling waters humming, in the gentle morning breeze,

sacred song birds, fill the air, in a choral litany,
beneath a dome, a colorful horizon, splattered vividly.

Doomed Dolt, Numbed Nerd, Trampled Trumpery:3

the Medicare, an undeserved fund the patients spend,
which seems extremely excrescent,
must be crushed immediately without any mend.
No coverage serves them right! Be they gravely ill or convalescent.
In his favor, all the rules the Capitol shall bend,
prosecution immunity, business chance----each prerogative coming on end.
His flagrance in abuse of power, plus republicans' acquiescence, plunges to a state perversely putrescent,
in consequence, honest individuals wizened while tower of liar and mar-a-lago mire tumescent.

High as the staff's passions hit, perfectly as their patiences fit, more than half at last have to quit.
What has ground away every panjandrum's wit and grit?
His inopportune blah-blah and twitter tantrum bit after bit,
the latter a globe-mocked target and also, often a globe-shocking tool kit.

Atmosphere of allies only too calm and bland,
against them, with his single hand,
he stirs up trade wars amid the entire world's guffaws.

Prostrate shall be the security of homeland,
prostrate shall be the competence of diplomatic corps,
bolt upright frontier walls shall stand----
but stand only in his brain, which constantly bolts out lunatic lore.

Pants on fire, collars on fire, hard and fast is this refractory liar.
Really a refractory and prolific liar, really a refractory and lifetime liar,
boasting his lying score higher than the steepest steeple's spire,
never plans to retire, until one day he has to expire.

Nonsense the globalization trend, nonsense what the majority attend,
abandoning all oversea interests and renouncing all international duties are the cause he shall defend.
And the itinerary of isolationism, his pilgrimage route.
Endorsed by none, would he be alone? A point nothing moot.
Epiphanic from Roman catacombs, arms open, ecstatic and naked----an epiphany non-faked----
Nero comes up to embrace him grinnily, like a kindred spirit in long pursuit eventually slaked
acting as his soul mate cum his sole friend
and escorting him all along to his final end.
His final end, Nero's end, that's who could brazen out the mass hoot.
His final end, Hell's end, that's where he takes root.

Big Ass Glasses

Ogden Nash once penned us
On our social status
Thus: "Men don't make passes
At girls who wear glasses."

But picture his surprise
Should he suddenly arise;
How much it would astound,
So much now's turned around?

It sure would give him pause,
What fires men today; 'cause
Now they aim their passes
At girls with big asses!

Forget glasses! No girl
Gives men any quarrel
Because of that old vex:
Refractory index.

Today, no ifs or buts,
Her big rear end is what's
All their lust's focused on.
Somehow, though, it must dawn

On her, also, to infer;
Maybe he delights her.
Whatever...some 'ass' is
Sure to gaze through her glasses

In hopes to reach her heart
Before her butt end part.
He'll stare into her eyes
And pray that she complies.

Must Ogden Nash today
Revise his saw to say
That, "Men don't make passes
At girls with small asses?"

We, the lolling masses,
Must view all these asses.
We shake our heads and muse,
What's our next sex abuse?

Phallic Worship

Death,
An awakening approach,
Destructive constant, obstructive refluence,
Refractory parallax or pantomorphic assistive,
A paper chase, paragenesis phallic worship.

Dialing In

That engaging voice rings out through the dark
Percolating between bands on the air
Soaring antennas pulse his festive spark
To share his diversion of solitaire

Nestled within promotional urges
Hidden behind that bombardment of sound
Charisma propels his karmic surges
Lifting his influence up from the ground

I bask enthralled within that merriment
As I dial in to win concert tickets
He offers up comfort most relevant
While defeating those tittering crickets

In my young mind I ponder my free will
As I scan future's potential for me
If only I sharpened my emcee skill
My meager voice could expand past the sea

Sojourning over vast hills and valleys
I launch my quest to fulfill distant dreams
Trouncing over boulevards and alleys
With eyes wide open to evade bleak schemes

Every open door now slams in my face
While laughter chases down those marble halls
Dial in massive resolve as I erase
Balance-sheet junkies hiding in those walls

I long for real talk to reach my people
Businessmen wholesale their spirits for cash
That iron tower serves as my steeple
For conquering bright minds in just a flash

So I dial in to the college station
That refractory refuge on my wave
Instead of drowning in dour frustration
Those substantial watts would pump me to rave

Panic shifts to diligence on my show
Where you will always find relevant songs
I hone my craft until I can bestow
That remote rapport that justly belongs

Kaleidoscope Pixies

Watching the sunlight shatter
and regroup to sliver again
in refractory bliss across the bay
evening shadows lengthen
and the kaleidoscope pixies
play across my eyes
while the silent hiss of suns' set
under rose and lavender skies
etches my life.

Truth Discerned

When I was slain in the spurit I was mostly surprised.
Dehydrated and dizzy, clenching the lids on my eyes
Blood refilling the arms recoiled from a flourescent-lit sky
None left supporting my legs after Blackburn had squeezed me too tightly
So I descended - relaxed, expectations unmet.
Quelled my instinct to get up and just laid there instead.
Conscious, biding my time like I'd seen others do
Outside Principal Greenlee's office in elementary school.

And so I came back to lie; said he got me real good,
but the doubt was throughout. I'd been caught stretching truth.

And in the dark of the van, coming back from the Trio
The Devil'd caught me again, this time all filled up with Jesus.
Took my spirit and honed it, blood now sprung resurrect,
To be betrayed by the Passion that had sworn to protect.
Despair exceeded the guilt as I sucame to the thrill.
If the Lord didn't touch me tonight, by God, somebody will.
Graced by girl or by guy, my fervent righteousness renewed
Dead set to enliven these hormones if it’s the last thing I do.

Refractory bites out my brain, has innocence lapsed because I'm evil?
Or was I simply a product of my id's superego?

When you suggest that I'm just angry or pointing at the wrong guy
Ya minimize my effort dismantling intrapersonal lies.
And you can live with the assumption that my conviction went moot
Or bother entertaining my hold-up, that your predictions weren’t true.

Premium Member Refractory Patience

From the drizzling silver of yearning night,
mesmeric flotilla of fervor on moonbeam
sails through the aperture of your window,
anchoring on the swan-winged bedspread.

The diaphanous ivory of your sparkling skin,
radiates lavish patina of luminous longing,
blazes in the invisible flare of eros ember,
as the moonshine stokes the amorous fire.

As a fly enticed by consummating bonfire,
I waft to fondle luring sizzler of glowing you.
Lest I burn my lascivious probing passion,
I wear the refractory potholder of patience.

Marriage: the Crucible

Work of the eyes is done, now
go and do heart work
on all the images imprisoned

— Rainer Maria Rilke

Crucible: A severe test, as of patience or belief; a trial.
   and
A vessel made of a refractory substance such as graphite or porcelain, used for melting and
calcining materials at high temperatures.

therefore
marriage is a severe test of our belief in each other
and ourselves
requiring
patience for change
acceptance in giving
life giving opportunity to be oneself
a test of patience with repetitive mistakes and fear
a trial
a life trial
moving forward with knowledge
and heartbreak

a vessel then strong enough to withstand the heat of love
and time
where we melt together
again
again
again

Premium Member MOTHER SAID

Divine counsel marked by wise comment
Came from our Mom with love’s caring depth
Along cautions to which we obliged.

“First, do your best in every task’s breadth
Always enjoy chores midst sighs and ‘oomph’
With good success as fulfillment prompts.

Next, choose what’s right, discerning the false
Praying with faith to solve a problem
Like in crossing roads that are zigzag.

Then, be not stressed when you are anxious
Take care of your health against heart wounds
Laugh out loud, giving your soul sweet warmth.

Yes, talk to God; He knows your secret
His grace and power fill what’s empty
Turning awesome greatness from nothing.”

Oh, we thank our Mother* for her bulb
Lighting us to be useful engine
For blest roles in our functional worlds.

Proverbs 6:20 - My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother.

5th place, "MOTHER SAID with Refractory Rhymes" Poetry Writing Premiere Contest; Sponsored by Suzette Richards; judged on 9/15/2024

Refractory rhymes are those words that do not have a natural rhyming word without having to resort to foreign/absolute/slang words, slant rhyme or mosaic rhyme. The word ‘rhyme’ here is used in the strict sense, called a perfect rhyme, that the words are pronounced the same from the vowel of the main stressed syllable onwards. Words that rhyme in one accent or dialect may not rhyme in another.
