Connection with nature
When a new day arises
Inspires to meditate
About the meaning of life

Looking through a window
Feeling the sunshine rays
After morning routine
Recharges the senses

Within Hellish Abyss, Sounds Serpent's Hiss,
Part Two

As Poe'sque verses come demons surround,
night hours break into loud hideous sounds.
With claws and long fangs thirsting for warm blood,
more beasts appear in a torrential flood.

Yet nothing can stop pen and its dark ink,
for deep in poetic dark, poet sinks.
In distant pits of hell, flames rise and roar,
as lost mortals seek to even old scores.

Pen recharges onto paper that begs,
as if it had marathon running legs
For now master Poe's image had arrived,
uttering these bold words, "I have survived"!

More verses pour from his cracked and parched lips,
on pain, death, heartbreak, ancient sunken ships.
Sailors wailing as dark waters they drank,
and into dooming depths bodies thus sank.

Poe calls out warning, "my stay may be brief",
poet cries, "faster pen, give me relief".
"Obey this order, least my black mist leaves,
express these scenes for master Poe so grieves".

Demons moan, wanting black and darker still,
as their wickedness begs more savage thrills.
Magnificent master Poe again speaks,
"waste not these hours, Raven's power soon peaks"!

Premium Member Seasons

Grey skies and cooler mornings, moisture on spiders silky webs which show off their patterns and circular beauty and as you walk along little clouds of vapour form as you breath.

Yes, autumn has arrived stripping the land of its emerald beauty and foliage
but also presents us with a stunning masterpiece of autumnal colours of browns, reds, and gold on a canvas landscape.

Not far behind is the winter, its seasonal cousin, but is presently in the wings waiting to make its unwelcome appearance.

Shorts and tee shirts are now stored away but eagerly we await the return of those long hot summer days, with family outings and barbecues and sitting in the garden, glass of wine in hand watching the bees go from flower to flower collecting the pollen that will provide us with sweet golden honey.
And the butterflies, who seem to flutter aimlessly in flight, but catch your eye giving you an aerial spectacle.

But you shudder as a chill air brings you back to the present and realisation dawns that boots, coats and warm scarves are the uniform now.
Ready for the onslaught of winter, of cold days, fog, frost and snow that will bring joy to some and untold misery to others, although severe to the old and very young, the abstract landscapes of winter hold a certain beauty that inspires poets and artists alike.

A lull in winters campaign against us will come at Christmastime and we are able to retreat into our warm defences of fires and log burners whose shimmering flames radiate heat that recharges us with warmth and cosiness.
A glass of warm spicy mulled wine provides us with our inner glow.
Every day past the shortest day in December will bring us to our victory of summer days once again.

Before that though, the winter will withdraw and herald the start of spring, bringing the birth of new life to the land and preparing the way for the joys of a long awaited summertime.

Written 8th December 2017.

Firm old man
Obstinate ways;
Will and testament

Lawyer consult
Due diligence;
Making a will

Retirement daze
So much to learn;
At my own pace

Human nature
To nurture;
Null and void

Means testing
Between old flames;
Wants and needs clash

Beauty greets
Truth is silent;
Love presides

Calm in chaos,
Stillness moves;
Cause and effect

Mindful knowing
Worldly ways;
No-thing fills void

Go beyond things
To unseen grace;
Herein is home

Learn to "Let Go"
See how you feel;
Embrace blissful rapture

Noise and conflict,
Opposing ideas;
Plunge into storm's eye!

Fatigue funnels
Body battery flat;
Deep sleep recharges

Echoes fade away
Dying day liberates;
Flight of night visions

Heavy eyelids
Boulders crashing;
Rejuvenation begins

There is a gap
In between takes;
Point of pure peace

Words like notes
Musical scales rhyme;
Poetic impulse

Conflict
Collision;
Cacophony

Tale for sale
Malt and ale;
Booze never fails

Wine culture
Red and white;
Sensory exfoliation

Hello
Small talk;
Goodbye

Listen
Rumour has it;
Be happy now

Rumour
Riot;
Reaping

Twilight and luna
Lunatic wiles;
Moon glow magnetic

At the end
Start again;
At the beginning

At the start
End again;
At the ending

Three simple lines
Touch of magic;
Haiku fragment

Good day
Good night
Goodbye

River Peace

Pools of water sparkle in the sun
Rays of light having fun
The buzz of life is all around
A dragon fly passes by
Wings flapping how great that sound

The grasses whisper in the wind
As bee’s flirt with their nectar
Butterflies gentle flutter by
Dancing on the flowers like my mind

Splash a sound disturbs the peace
A fish catching food, catches the sun
My thoughts drawn to his domaine
Life in the river my thoughts insane

I cast my line across the river
It floats down stream as silent as the night
This ancient windy river
it’s prize of fish it fails to deliver.

Peace is what I collect
Even with an empty net

Rays of light from everywhere
The gentle wind I can bear.
The sounds of nature in my head
Recharges my soul for times ahead.

Mirror Image

Mirror Image

The mirror image sometimes cast,
Beneath your earthbound feet,
At last,
Toe to toe and heel to heel,
Inverted image sweet,
But real,
Red image there a reaching down,
Your earth connection,
do not frown,
Your earth connection neat,
Recharges the spirit, if it’s low,
Solemn there ‘tween toe n toe,
Till angel flow does meet,
The flow comes with some heat,
From fiery center earth below,
Makes now for sweaty feet.

Another hologram exists,
Above your head, quite in-discrete,
Brain to brain, head to head, the mist,
Purple flashes-white completes,
a system that was lame,
a cosmic union tweak,

Suspended brow to brow, uh-oh,
Sublime, when all do meet,
Passion of the power flow
The overself there, envelops so,
Soul path and body seeks,
Intuition flows, so dreaming stops,
The knowing is complete.

Don'T Let Go

I'll pray
You don't let go
For these heartstrings of mine
That only you possess the love
That pumps the blood running through my body
Your touch recharges my soul
Fueling a joyous
sacred fire

Premium Member Mindfully Minding My Mind

The quiet of the late afternoon sun

Is all that I wanted to hear.

The rays casting shadows in the room

Is all that I wanted to see.

Watching the daylight move around the walls

Eased the tension and stress in me.

A few moments to gather my thoughts

Time, so precious, so dear.

Comfortably sitting here

Relaxation drains me of life's fears

Just a few minutes of time for me

To sit in peace watching nature perform

Makes me feel good and smile for the beauty of life.

Recharges my mind to face more.

Passion's Canopy

Freshly the water drops my tongue
Epic summer lung, life spans forth
Frothy drawings and drumming helium balloons
When hot weather makes its mark

The pressing passion keeps me draped
Luminous canopy on Aztec stairway
Reminding me how i've always waited
Each calendar spin to unfold

Now is the time we climb
To each others arms softly
Musing what we've always known
The happenstance of eerily familiar

I want to envelop you in colors
And shrug gravity from shoulder's beacon
Darling, my shining star, treasure wed
Below the sea, the way earth recharges bounty
Each spinning cycle

Gather your fruit from gypsy leaves
We will nomad every mystery
Worth plucking!

Aurora Borealis

A light beacon in the iciest of regions,
Solar winds full of both brilliance and bluster
Glory of trenchant travelers from afar;
Skyward sorcery that time does not mar.
Shining with such a wonderful lustre,
Lantern of lucidity wherefore philosophers seek a Reason.
As every Winter grows thick,
The prowl of the sabretooth,
The hunger of the polar bear,
The pale of the moon's watchful eyeWhen one begins to sigh,
Wondering how your frost-bitten fingers will fare,
Knowing not how to go on, in sooth:
Suddenly, into place your bones and thoughts begin to click
As you look up and see her,
Fluorescing ever more wildly, frantically bright
Shimmering blue and silver
Fiercely haloing over you through the Night.
Her loyalists curse the cold which she can scarcely resist,
Trekking miles to reach her through the Evergreen forests.
She has the heart of a snow lioness
Looking after her cubs through harsh distress.
But though her beneficiaries honour her in a climate that's chilly,
She is not really averse to the comforts of Man.
In fact, she is a Lady of both magnanimity and indulgence
That it is yet unwise to deem too silly,
For she glows beyond all treats to a greater span:
Appearing before earth with a gift of utmost refulgence.
Existing by herself, like a hummingbird on a higher plane,
Where memories ancestral are stirred up, that have long been lain;

She unfurls and recharges in proud hermitage:
Ready to awaken, in you, in loneliest season and age.
Ready to ignite, when all hope seems lost;
Ready to find the Will to survive at any cost;
Ready to make the shoots push up even through the frost.
Ready to bring warmth and nourishment like the perfect host.
Though she is not perfect this much is true;
To the vulgar, her vanity sometimes stoops to kowtow.
Too in love with the humble creatures she ensnares, with a 'wow', and a
'woah'...
Too in love with the image which the crowds drew... So enthralled to the
show...
Hiding from her own lofty view
Her faults - covered by too blinding a virtue.
Mother, I still love you.

The Imbalancing Ruse

Fresh and serene droplets rest in galore
As the dawn smiles on them to adore
The tiny prettiness in spectral mode
Downs from out of the heavenly abode ;
In dainty drips and drizzles the elixir
Enlivens  and recharges the aqua-spur

Beyond the brim and out of norm
It sinks the floater and defaces the firm -
Mounds or  mansions,weed or tree
Huge or little - are all toppled free ;
Strange are the ways of the cosmic strain
Be it the wind ,fire,tremor or rain

Atop the floating debris and decay,
The  self-centred biped strides astray
With a whimsy wand and febrile chill ,
Streching the vicious arm for infinite fill
Of the precious trash ,never for any use;
Yet as ' trade ' - the imbalancing ruse.

Resolutions

All that begins for sure, finds an end -
Abrupt, distinct, obscure or of dismal blend
Fervent farers wade through or waft
While they trust more  their own craft ;
Great deeds and rare feats result
In marvels and manoures well dealt
And prompted by the conscience upright ;
Yet is there a domain murky and trite
Wherein the dual pull : drop or go
Smites and recharges a half - done show ;
The pleasure sensed with success depends
On the sane thoughts the equity intends
And commands to be followed all through
To resolve : ends begin with a set move.
