Best Rebuilding Poems
Rebuilding a bridge that was blown asunder,
Should we start from above or way down under?
Is it really too late to try once again?
For the two of us to call each other friend?
A heated discussion, words said in anger,
Is how our friendship got into danger.
If we had only taken time to think before we spoke,
Maybe our friendship would not have broke.
We can not retract what we did in the past,
We can only start over and make it last.
I miss your smile - the warmth or your heart,
May we try once again or do we just stay apart?

My son is out fixing up the shed.
Winter is coming on. Needed doing he said.
He had the time and the bound-to’s.
I’m not used to this thought process, I’m not. Not from a child.
I watch him for a while.
Opening and closing gates as needed.
The dust, sifted into powder from summer’s heat, poof’s with his steps.
The heels of his jeans dragging strings on the ground, erase the tread of his
boots.
The shed is old. There is algae or lichen on the north side boards,
where the wood is splintery gray.
Some of the lichen florets are the color of sage, some the color of a bright orange
rust,
Circled with gray ones and black, their life cycle played out.
He hammers nails and screws in screws while holding boards in place.
Sweat glistening where skin is exposed, making long dark stains in his black
shirt.
Veins standing out against the strain, and
Muscles laboring to prove he can do the job well, without a mother’s help.
While he works I think about his father and how differently they work.
His father preferring team work and orchestrated smooth motion
working side by side, no extra movements – and he whistled.
My son needs to prove his skills first – alone.
The shed is done and it will brave another winter, keeping the horses sheltered
from the elements.
The wind, snow and horses milling about, will obliterate the trail of pant cuffs,
Along with the memory of one cool day at the end of summer,
When a man worked hard to rebuild their shelter.

Wearing her zippered jumpsuit of lime
My queen loves to survey the valley's field.
She dreams of finding a perfect place and time
She can make her dream city something real.
Megiddo was an ancient and famous city
Where starting at Solomon's gate then entering in,
Delight, pleasance and joy showed no pity,
And t'was no comfort not to be found within.
This proud city of great power and zeal--
The glory of some rare ancient engineer--
Has seen dust fly from many a chariot wheel,
When victorious kings came to holiday here.
Perhaps ancient Israel's most splendid city,
It soon captured every kingdoms' eye.
A diadem of the Jezreel Valley so pretty,
It invoked the kiss of the Assyrian sky.
Surrounded by its high double-thick stone walls,
Megiddo’s palaces did lavishly and amply abide,
Containing their ornamentally furnished halls,
With towers, storehouses, and courtyards alongside.
And then there are temples—believed to be three,
With vestibules for believers to enter in.
Then of course the altar for only the holy to see,
Where doctrines are given a positive spin.
Where’er perfect foundation might lay,
My queen shall find a delightful field.
And there to be in full domain and array,
The promise of Eden most
empyreal.

rebuilding is a part of life, it's about the ups and the downs
the good, the bad, the happy, the sad all that goes around
as life is about our experiences all that we've gone through
it's about picking up the pieces and somehow make them anew
rebuilding is sometimes costly it will always have a price
to rebuild those torn down walls that make up your life
so what has deteriorated? what do you need to re-erect?
what are those issues in your life that have had the most devastating affect?
to rebuild those torn down walls that you thought would have kept you whole
to rebuild those torn down walls that have caused you to lose control
in order to make it happen you need to re-position yourself in life
in order to make it happen you need to stand before the Lord Christ
now in the presence of the Holy Lord Our God the King of Kings
now in the presence of Our Creator who controls everything
now is the time to make it happen by overcoming opposition
now is the time to make it happen by taking up a godly position
in order to make it happen you need to possess a true faith
and no matter what the enemy attempts to do you need to concentrate
now focused on your mission with a purpose steadfast and sure
trusting that with God by your side there's nothing you can't endure
in order to rebuild those walls in your life that have been torn down
you need to stand on the word of God which is your solid ground
now is the time to overcome your fears and those things that the devil will use
to make you doubt, cause you to bow out one of his greatest tools
for the devil will huff and he will puff but he doesn't have a clue
that as a disciple of Christ he has no power over you
now is the time to wield your weapon "The Sword of the Spirit"
the most powerful ammunition with the words of God in it
rebuilding your torn down walls on the foundation that is Jesus Christ
rebuilding your torn down walls by overcoming the distractions in life
not looking left, not looking right but looking directly to the Lord
and no matter the price nor the sacrifice with Christ rebuild those walls

To be rebuilt, to be restored, to re-establish broken walls
Of former gates now rising up, to them that will rejoice
On assignment from the palace
Nehemiah of noble rank
With zest and zealous zeal
A great work to begin, relinquish finding fault
Continue the consigned course, even if by force
A purposeful quest, yet enemies seek to oppress
Chosen people of Jerusalem
Their aim to hinder
To turn our plans to cinders, of ruin again
Aside from jeers and jokes, we evoke the passion inside
From such a purpose as this
For Nehemiah here to rebuild, not to rebel
To hear of enemies plans, such work began
Armed hands of spears and swords
Guarding watchmen day and night, to then distract, a covert act
To call him away, an unprincipled trip, good intentions not
Yet passing times, forward seasons
Gave no reason, for continued up-rise
No scheme or lies, could dissolve desire
Nor cause delay
Gathered rules, with listening intent
Help the people, re-join and restore customs, not law
Promising years, place heathen aside, do not idolise
A Saviour will return
The writings of Malachi
A faithful prophet, of faithful words

Since the beggining of my journey people always been pushing ignorant views on me,
The evidence is always lacking but still insisting its the way it has to be,
Spend my time escaping to build a mind palace,
Whilst stumbling through this crazy world like Alice,
Everything I learn is like a new brick,
but piecing them together is the real trick as the evils of the world begin to stick,
Meditating on my throne channeling peace and serenity,
Attempting to make some sense of the black, white and grey with clarity,
but my inner sanctuary from the outside becomes corrupted,
Finally time this place was deconstructed,
As you cannot build a structure on broken foundations,
I take my best bricks and work amalgamations,
In my new palace there be holes where once was black,
This time I'll keep it clean and make sure they never come back,
I need to gather better bricks to rebuild my mind,
with new adventures and new experiences is the only way I will find
The only way to start again is to sift through all of the rubble,
If I fail in this then again there will be trouble,
And when the negatives of my mind attempt to seep in,
I'll be meditating in my palace protected from sin.

A coworker and I stand
along a lone Nebraska highway
far from home.
I stand on one end
of a work zone-
a co-worker stands
on the other
communication by walkie talkie
to direct traffic
as it comes and goes.
A road that’s broken
must be made whole
as life bubbles forth
from underground streams
in an unfamiliar place.
Work inches forward
until the sun bleeds
into the sky
when night conversations
friendships are sought
in each other
as we ponder
our time and place
and a light in the parking lot
shines like the moon.

Rebuilding
By Franklin Price
10/12/2017
Rebuilding all, is what we do
We did it after World War Two
Rebuilt Japan and Germany
And they had been our enemy
All their basics mostly done
Brought them back, it wasn't fun
It cost a lot of cash to do
To bring them back, their lives renew.
Now we find ourselves today
Hurricanes have come our way
Our islands now, we must restore
Nature did it, not a war.
Situation dire, and yet we fret
What about their present debt?
It's about the peeps, not politics
We're acting like a bunch of pricks
Puerto Rico, ruined, there you see
They are our own, not enemy
Must bring them back, again as new
That's the least that we should do
It's the people, not the government
The hurricane has come and went
If they had elected you,
There's nothing that you wouldn't do
If the media is telling lies
About withdrawing, I despise
all them, and their hate for you
You can't do that, if it is true
We must rebuild our island lands
Slammed by the eye and outer bands
Now's not the time to think of debt
Congress could pay, with graft, I'll bet

Rebuilding what was torn down
might take endless effort,
and it can be definitely done
without recalling the hurt.
To visualize it again,
it's putting together the ideas
that started it in adolescence...
will it be the same dream as then?
Some achievers build it
as a bricklayer does: brick by brick...
until it is clearly conceived,
to amaze themselves who strongly believed.
Rebuilding what was torn down
by malevolent forces takes firm belief,
and with my defiant courage it will have life again:
breathing as I breath with much sought relief.

Lets rebuild this thing
This love that use to be
Company: once was us
Now just you, and me
Together can be a lonely place
Time and life has caused it true
I need your help with this, My Dear
Lets get back to me and you
I know I need you once again
Don't you long for that place?
Where love flew round about us
A warm and gental kind of space

He understood what I now know
But did not at first
For I had not seen broken children before
Now that I have I understand
They can be tainted and tortured
into submission before they reach school
“It is easier to build strong children
than to repair broken men”
words penned by Frederick Douglass
Wisdom personified
Once broken it is like rebuilding
and rebuilding and rebuilding
After a child has lost hope
lost trust, lost believing in himself
he filters out the good, hearing only the bad
If we do not reach them
before the good has been
crucified and whipped out of them
We may never reach them at all
The key is to reach the parents
And teach them how to love their children
The belt is never the answer
Once you have had the belt
You are always broken
Take it from one who knows
From
Experience…..

Yes, you have fallen.
It felt like a defeat.
In time, you realize
You still have the breath of life.
Calamity has no victory.
What felt like an enormous blow
Brought you to your knees.
Determination fills your bones,
Resilience, your soul.
Broken, but not shattered,
Injured, but surviving,
Gather every ounce of life you have,
Take a deep breath,
Say a silent prayer and
Proceed!

When rebuilding a home
You-
Repaint the walls
Replace broken doors
Revisit all points of weakness
Trusting the process
Of the new masterpiece being built
So it is with the soul
Rebuilding that home
To the home of strength
