Epistle To Barack Obama

this epistle per mine choice of heir apparent presidential throne
composed from one liberal minded non-conformist rolling stone

prompted awareness that one voice can affect which contestant will win
and occupy the white house after the votes get tallied from political spin

aware thy missive from an anonymous fellow and a self anointed scribe
will be carefully screened no matter opinion already cast with nada bribe

personal opinion of this sole american male of two score and nine years
that barack obama possesses that je ne sais quois diplomatic state craft
despite disparaging broadside starring paris hilton plus britney spears

the land of lincoln candidate exemplifies (to myself) a charismatic charm
in tandem with a relaxed persona and gait akin per a commoner on a farm

that nonchalant easy going affinity speaks nonverbal volumes to this chap
cringes when espying or hearing from opposing challenger whose lips flap
meaning john mccain whose hidden motives and agenda include his trap
to plant seeds of doubt per un-decided electorate causing lead to get a zap

unknown how trials and tribulations rival democratic senator from Illinois
will weather local nor global challenges and said solution he might employ
i opt for said captain to steer ship of state and exclaim to drop anchor ahoy

if via cosmic divine intercession the galloping newcomer in this horse race
ushering biracial as nominal winner televisions would show a beaming face
the political ramifications analogous to betting square outcome on this ace

i gently beg, decry, fulminate counter attack advertisements fast and quick
against those subliminal sly messages that at first blush appear airily slick
and please reach deep in that magic bag resorting to retaliatory artful trick
lest burning from the madding crowd extinguished like jack’s candle wick!

Premium Member Political Agenda

What if I put up a blog, or comment about politics.
What if it grates on your soul, in your craw it sticks.

But you think I’m a pretty nice guy, otherwise OK.
You want to support my blog not look the other way.

For the life of you, you find you just can not do it.
You just can’t raise the words from a bottomless pit.

What kind of person am I to put you through all this?
Surely no friend would plead to such thoughtlessness.

There are places on the net for one who is in need,
of venting the poison which in so many mouths feed.

Take your place in history, record your verbal feat.
May you be recognized and valued by all you greet.

Just leave the soup blogs free from political agenda.
Don’t rankle and debate the many political referenda.

Don’t ire the quiet multitude reading your dilemma.
Lest someone go bonkers with a little Iwo Jima.

No matter which side you are on.
No matter you brag or complain.
Someone is always offended.
Please, lets keep politics off the blogs.

They were happily wed for fifty years but a dilemma that nettled,
Was their differing political views that they never, ever settled!
Every time a local, state or national election cycle approached,
The squabble began as the virtues of their candidates were broached!

The donkey was the symbol of the party espoused by Ma.
The elephant was the emblem of the party championed by Pa.
They agreed on how to raise the kids and on matters of religion,
But to agree on political affairs - nary one little smidgen!

Their eternal battle even raged beyond the hallowed grave,
As on separate stones these telling epitaphs they did engrave:
"Here a Democrat lies - A lovely wife with the wrong party ties!"
"Here a Republican lies - A loving spouse but politically unwise!"

The Republican (Slam For Contest)

I would listen to your problem,
But I don't have time.
So, I will give a statement,
In the form of a rhyme.
Up the political ladder, I did climb.
I raised every dime,
But how I did it
Should be considered a crime.
The fact of the matter is
I really don't care!
So, go ahead and stare!
Your problem
Is not my burden to bare!
Who are you to talk to me
About what is and is not fair?
Don't you dare!
I know where you are,
But "I'VE never been there."
I always had a lair.
I had the good sense to be born of rich blood,
While the rest of you were born to duds,
Born to live in your houses of "HUD."
I'm a stud,
Born and bred to sling political mud.
From my home,
I've never been forced to leave.
So, I've never been forced to grieve.
Never been forced to receive
A note that left me peeved.
So, I don't know how it feels to be thieved.
And furthermore,
Like I said before,
I never looked for work.
All I had to do was walk through a door.
Job hunting is for the poor!
Not for those who soar,
Nor for those
Who are ahead in the score.
I never "HAD" to work,
But I always had a good job.
So, I really don't understand your mob.
I'm not "TRYING" to be a snob.
I just had to turn a door knob.
So, I don't know how it feels to be robbed.
So What!
So What!
What if a few jobs got shipped away?
You should be able to get a new job
Where ever you may.
You should be able to get a new job
Close
To
Where ever you stay,
Or at least
To
Where ever you lay.
Tomorrow is a new day!
And, in time,
You will be back on your feet.
Don't worry about being put out on the street,
Or those days
When you had to go without something to eat.
Are you going to let THAT
Spell your defeat?
Look!
Politics
Is the game that I play.
For me,
There can be no other way.
Some sacrifices
Are the prices that we are forced to pay.
So, listen to the words that I say.
Sooner or later,
The sun will come out
At least one day,
For you to feel
At least one ray.

Maybe America Just Maybe

Bright stars complement the darken sky
Stratus clouds quivering in the distance about to cry
if this worlds made in God’s image I ask myself why is the sky about to cry

Maybe we haven’t lived up to Gods expectations
Maybe America’s destination hasn’t been reached due to improper navigation
Maybe you’d say America’s destination hasn’t been reached because individuals not finding it
obligation
Maybe she’d say America’s destination hasn’t been reached due to lack of education
Or maybe he’d say America’s destination hasn’t been reached due to the greed of congress
aka political corporations

We use to be a golden nation, God was in school and children had more dedication
Inspiration to others but the last 8 years drastically declined due to obvious explanation
But maybe 2009 is the perfect year to do away with the old and begin on a solid foundation
Maybe once again we can form a true nation, a creation that holds fascination instead of
frustration
Maybe
Maybe we can
We can.
We can be that Golden Nation with proper preparation,
Effort & motivation from the current youth as to say the new generation
Proper navigation from a man with a lot of courage & imagination
It’s Time.

It’s time to stop with all this political pollution and put true ideal into execution
A peaceful revolution of solution creating an America of evolution

Every time a local or national election cycle approached,

The donkey was the symbol of the party espoused by Ma.
The elephant was the emblem of the party championed by Pa.
They agreed on how to raise the kids and on matters of religion,
But to agree on political affairs? Nary one little smidgen!

For generations Ma's leanings were in-bred, she'd never convert.
Pa held similar feelings, his beloved party he'd never desert!
The slightest mention of the attributes of the opposing candidate,
Would spark another inflammatory table-pounding debate!

The outcome of elections they'd both eagerly anticipate.
Invariably one of them gloated, leaving the losing one irate!
If the man steering the ship of state committed a silly dido,
The loser danced with glee saying, "Didn't I tell you so!"

Their eternal battle even continued beyond each hallowed grave,
As on separate stones these epitaphs they did engrave:
"Here a Democrat lies! A lovely wife with the wrong party ties!"
"Here a Republican lies! A loving spouse but politically unwise!"
