Best Overlook Poems

From the Overlook

a Spanish sonnet

Passion thrives on forgiveness, oh my sweet.
Your scorn will reason well to wonder why
I attempt a smile even though your eyes
refuse to cherish blooms laid at your feet.
We need to take stock of trust when we meet;
weeds of abomination poke and pry.
From the overlook, my soul heaves a sigh,
you uproot our relationship with deceit.

Your lie lacked confirmation from the start -
why you would mock or kid, I do not know.
Struggle rose within this admiring heart;
impatience flames and yet I rise with hoe
of love to root out what your two lips thwart.
Each day, sees me at work melting your snow.

I think patience works well to promote passion in love relationships.
Notice the words in italics in the second stanza, flowers bloom there.

Three things in life last forever
 Faith, hope and love
 The greatest is love
 God is love
 He that abides in love
 Abides in God
 And God in him

Success begins in our lives
When the problems and hurts of others
Matter to us
When the wound of one
Is the wound of all
When the pain of others
Is the pain of all
It is only through love
That we can respond to God

If we give everything we own
To the poor but do not love
No matter what we say
No matter what we believe
We are bankrupt without love
Love never gives up
Love is always there to act
In the face of persecution
In the face of intimidation
In the face of trial
In the face of temptation

Lord give us love enough
To overlook the mistakes of others
Lord let us rejoice when others do well
Love cares more for others
Than for self
Love does not want
What it does not have
Love is positive
It does not want anything negative
Love is good
It does not want anything bad
Love does not want hatred
Because love is love

Love does not strut
It does not have swollen head
Love does not belittle anyone
Love does not look down on others
Love does not force itself on others
Love puts up with anything
Love is determined
Love perseveres for the best
Which is yet to come
Love looks for the best
Love keeps going to the end
No matter the obstacle
No matter the difficulty

If we speak in tongues of angels
But we do not love others
We are simply making a noise
If we can prophecy the future
And understand all mysteries
Or have faith to move mountains
But we do not love others
We have accomplished nothing in life
A person who does not love
Cannot be entrusted with the power of God
He will misappropriate and misuse it
To hurt himself and others
Love looks around to see who is in need
Cause help is the best investment
In all we do let love lead

God Will Overlook

God Will Overlook

For God, would you want to go to work
As maybe quite a genius or plain old clerk
Milking many cows or working in a field
Hoping to produce a very good yield.

How about being plumber or a typist
Be in a beauty pageant and hard to resist
Or just judge sitting there who will wait
Then after best is chosen begin to celebrate.

As all my days increase and a poet may be
Always trying my best and others agree
Then God started administering His test
Discovered just being your self is the best.

Don't find yourself false, but to God be true
Even though on His test may miss a few
Come to think of it, I am a miserable cook
Thank goodness, my cooking He will overlook.

Could Love Overlook This Pain

I consider you my chief, at one point of time
My commander at heart , leader of our military
The big gun in our castle, but mental confusion
Came upon my soul, heart and mind
Disturbance was in the air, causing a big fluster
Flurry thoughts came in my bubble, bursting illusions
As, I tell myself, this can't be true, I know you

You love me, and wouldn't destroy, our magnificent home
Bringing tears , tears and tears
How, could love overlook this pain
This sudden burst, I'm feeling to, disappear far , far away
Where no-one, would dare to stay or lay
So, I may stay on my knees and pray
Pray that this, bewilderment goes away
Because, truthfully,
I have only, one question
Could love overlook this pain?

The world welcome you
You're free to travel globally
But we always see only the best
And overlook the worst
We admire others
We forget our love
Travel is only for leisure
Knowledge and experience
And not for a living shelter
There are racism and foreigness everywhere
And so let's appreciate
What we've already possessed
Our beloved motherland and our families

While, alone, I gaze upon this splendored sight
the true meaning of Nature's spectacle is somehow lost.
I will leave with emptiness inside my heart, for, these
wonders of beauty are best seen and appreciated when
shared by two souls.

So, should you chance to pass this way alone and
long to share this sight, I leave an echo of my
heartbeat so you may capture the true beauty and
meaning of God's splendor.

Pause, and in meditation, let our spirits look
together at this splendid sight. Then leave with peace
of mind knowing that another kindred soul has passed
this way and you need not feel alone.

Beauty We Overlook

Beautiful flowers abound…
Yellow, Red, purple, and brown.
There is an abundance of beauty on this Earth.
We overlook it at times, and wear a frown.

Overlook Offense

Words or actions may upset you and me
If we allow them to control us, how tragic that can be.
We can avoid saying words like: “You make
Me so mad: that’s fuel to the flame, and will make their
heart glad.

Don’t admit that their actions
Have power over you. As long as that
Person knows for sure, you’ll live in
Bondage forevermore.

Overlook offense though hard it may seem
Overlook their actions though upsetting it may feel,
A great example to have and to hold
Like water off a ducks back let the offense roll,

Overlook

June 6, 2012

You make me feel so low sometimes
And you wonder why I turn to others
You cling onto me jokingly
But in all seriousness, it bothers
I wish we can just be honestly close
Not just close, but able to click
Instead you act like a prick
It hurts to say the way I feel
Because I know you are so much more than what surfaces
I love you, I really do
But sometimes you make me feel like a fool
Like you’re using me
And I am not an adequate tool
I overlook the things you say and do
Just so I can make you happy
And that is sometimes a difficult task
Because the aching of inadequacy in my brain
Is driving me insane
I know I point out the obvious
I know that I’m stupid…I know I’m a fool
But why do you have to be so cruel?
Is this how it will always be?
And why can’t I cling elsewhere?
Without you hurt?
I can’t live my entire life making you happy
We all want to be content
I can’t leave the others behind
Sometimes I feel like you’re bent
On just you and me…
Or maybe it’s not me at all
Maybe it was never me…
I guess I overlook things too much to see

Darling, paint the eyes

Every morning I paint a pair of eyes
to see the world for me—
Mines scream at
the sky fracturing into neon glass.

The dazzling eyes I painted—
I use them to fit in
the crowd dancing in chemical haze
—reasons left out at the gate.
I use them to study
the rites of smoke
—to ghost myself in every exhale.
I use them to ignore
the judgmental stare
—that inner child I silenced, it's always her

No good can come from spoiling the fun—
Darling, just blind yourself.

Premium Member A Day In Life

Start the day
Fresh
With energy
With confidence
With hopes
With plans
With dreams
Full to the brim
So that you don't have any time
To grumble uselessly
To evaluate things too strictly
To compare greedily
Until you confuse yourself
About today, yesterday and tomorrow
And overlook today
Which should be the most important day

The Box

I was grateful for the love of family and friends

But I was longing to hear your voice just once again

Then I came upon a box that I had not seen

There was a note that read ‘just a few keepsakes to you-from me’

I would recognize that handwriting anywhere

It was from you, my beloved my dear

I carefully opened it--not knowing what I would see

The box opened easily without a need for a key

I peered into the box

At first, I was a bit confused

Was this one of your jokes?

Or were these things really to be used?

There were:

Glasses – to help me to look for the best

A blindfold – to assist me in overlooking the rest

Some glue – to remind me not to be broken apart

A doorknob – to keep open the door to my heart

A glove – to incite me to offer a hand when I observe a fall

A ladder – to provide me with the vision to help others stand tall

I closed the box but promised to open it again

Whenever I missed the voice of my mentor and friend
