something about trees
gleeful branches aflutter
with ephemeral wind

without sun
standing stoic
trees 
they fascinate me
décor of lichen
on weathered bark 
deep roots, unseen,
sustaining this idyllic frame
a life without trees,
to me
gray and dull
contrast
a spring day
with
a choir of leaves
my heart sings
