Coco the Clown

Coco the clown went sailing one day
to a holiday destination far far away

Suddenly, the sky went dark and the wind did blow
and the waves beneath his boat did grow and grow

Coco lost his oars as the winds blew and blew
and he paddled his way with a size 50 shoe

Through his telescope he saw an island far away in the distance
and he made it to shore with his skill and persistence

A group of locals met him as he sailed onto land
with necklace of bones and spears in hands

They carried off Coco to a waiting stock pot
with vegetables and seasoning and water boiling hot

Poor Coco the clown was simmered to perfection
they shared out the meat after careful dissection

They sat down to dine and after having a chew
one said to the other “does this clown taste funny to you?”

Premium Member Kindness At the Sea

The palm tree bends in the wind at the sea
with smooth, beautiful, flexibility
A splash of salt water hits the sand
Rolling with sea shells onto land

Surprises to find in a special search
beneath wooden posts where seagulls perch
Watching what gems will be found left behind
By the moving sea, showing how to be kind

Premium Member Wind Blown Dreams

The wind howls, breaking branches all about with cracks
Roaring like a racing train down the long metal tracks.
The wind blows lightly gliding a paper boat floating by
So quickly noticed, then gone with the blink of an eye.
The wind whistles in the grass, blowing the drifting sand
At a beach with waves crashing white wild curls onto land

                                One after another…

The wind upon my face, releases tension into the air around
Where kites are flying above the park with a flapping sound.

At the end of the day…

                                     - It stops -

A calm evening settles quiet, as the silence tells a story, to be.
It began with the wind tossing images all around to see.
From the water to land, from the sky to the sea, it seems
Pictures ease the mind to sleep, falling into wind-blown dreams.

Premium Member Roswell -July 8th 1947

The inhabitants of Quintar V
Were in many ways like Man
They evolved from legless blobs
And from the unkind sea
Ventured onto land.

Their technology advanced
In only a few thousand years.
Hyperspace was soon available.
So the greater minds left to search the stars.

For many light years they travelled.
Through universes and galaxies galore
Generations grew up on their ships
The young were taught space ship skills
And prepared in peace to greet new life.

Eventually they came upon Earth.
And at Roswell began their descent.
But despite all the knowledge gained.
The spaceship into the ground crashed.

The brainiest creatures in all the Milky Ways
Did not know how to land.

Very green flushed carpets
Sky blue azure topped ceilings
Tree branched sofa chairs
Mirror sea rippling four walls
Windows and doors shut!

REBIRTH! © TANKA

Infant birthing new
Into mankind-likened modes
Start fresh from homed sights
Cultured to suckle blind
On natures ‘tested’ recollected notes
Left ‘one on one’ in thought sense!

Earth’s Time Shares © TANKA

Earth imploding ‘noted’
Fished from science scales to date
Attention everyone
Demise for man’s brutal act
Shrinks to pin-head size!

MARKED SPACES! © TANKA

Caterwauling winds
Float the once settled landfills
Forming 'blocks' of sand
Balanced on set place-mats
Dwindle down to nothings.

A LITTLE SALT PLEASE! © TANKA

Salt beds remain ‘still’
Air-dried salt mines reap
Sea tides, air-dried onto land
Leave the needed salt shares
Flavour 'salted' dressings over time
Enhance life’s food plate!

FORMIDABLE THOUGHT! © TANKA

Too many thoughts stockpile
Hanging words staged 'left'
Rehashed until spent
Sending 'mood-eating’ topics
To announce ‘inner’ moon ‘tides’!

SHARED AIMS! © TANKA

Unity bids man
Into work managed mindsets
Oiling the forces ‘toil’
Producing metal and brawn
Empires bleed open!

SET STRIDES © TANKA

Brain building 'strides' learnt
Leg and body builds in time
All in a heady breath count
Balanced events mate
Affecting lifespan!

Premium Member Pink Cotton Candy

Pink cotton candy striated clouds
Intermingle with blue
Lure the artist to observe painting
Upon a canvas true

Distant doves sing a summer song
Happy to raise a large brood
Soon they'll be independent
Seeking out their own food

Life goes in circles, birds nesting
In places they were born
Some families never leaving
Hold onto land plant corn

The sun never failing man
Rises each day to warm
Today it rises fire ball red
Warning of impending storm

The canvas is painted a little
Different each day
No two exactly alike
For the earth doesn't stay

The earth's rotation brings change
Near and far to the sun
Slowly changing positions
Keeping life, having fun

Now the sun is golden glowing
Just above the tree tops
Its heat will be scorching too soon
Destroying unwatered crops

Just a few minutes out on the porch
Time for spirit renewal
How it prepares my inner needs
Helps my spirit fights duels

The Sailor and the Sea

You two are the sailor and the sea
Bringing about all good things to be

Content and calm like when the sea is blue
With a clear sky to show what love can do

Sailors don't fight the waves or tide
They embody curves of the sea, along for the ride

While the sailor can steer her ship onto land
But she chooses to keep her ship away from sand

Though the wind can pick up and the skies go dark
The sailor and her sea can not end their embark

As you are the sailor and the sea
Circling the world endlessly

Refreshing Rain

Rain dives down onto land
Grass oceans and even sand
Gently falls upon my hand
My reflection in the raindrop
Who is this I see
Tiny little drops of rain
Created high up in the sky
In the clouds is where it lies
Cleanses planet earth
Soon after its birth
Washes away evil and sin
Gives one a sense of refreshment
Planet earth is truly a blessing
Wash away all earth's pain
Earth. Please.
Wash away my sins
Let the water rain down on me
Replenish myself to start a new
Slight regret gives off a sense of weight
Heavy on my shoulders
I carry this around
But I must accept my sins to set myself free

Good and Evil

Rain
Gentle rain.
Softly falling,
Playfully splashing,
Tumbling down.
Raindrops racing
Down a window pane.
Pitter patter.
Pitter patter.
Pitter patter.
Cool.
Clear.
Refreshing,
Replenishing.
Quenching the earth’s thirst,
Filling her rivers and reservoirs,
Making green again her pleasant land.

Rain.
Cruel rain.
Lash-ing
With it’s
FURY.
Thrashing.
Crashing.
Pouring,
Pouring,
Pouring.
Forcing
Down
Earth’s
Throat.
Choking,
Till her rivers
Spew out onto land
In floods
Of
CHAOS
DEVASTATION
And
DEATH.

IF ever I had a country: XI - XII

IF ever I had a country
And if ever I were but the Admiral of the Fleet
I'd issue an edict to keep ships out of foreign waters
I'd order all on deck on or off duty curse-under-breath sailors
To fish out of oceans crushed cans and twisted plastic bottles
And whatever else poisons sardines dolphins sharks and whales
…………………………………
…………………………………

………………………………..
………………………………..
I'd see to it that all our ancestors of the primal soup deep
Were brought onto land with all their shredded creep
And to the tune of the Divine Land's Anthem make all weep
In solemn burial ceremonies commit such memories to keep
That is, if ever I were but the Admiral of the Fleet
And even if I never ever had no country

The Tide

The wave are turning and I want
To pull you from the tide,
You go under, yet you use
The blue-black water to hide.

What are you hiding from?
There's nothing to fear in this world.
Don't you want to curl up with me,
In love, tangled and furled?
Don't you want to breathe your last,
In a place you feel serene?
Don't you want to watch your family grow,
Your children reach their dreams?

Your conscience, it takes over.
You want to just lie down.
You want to go in peace and quiet,
Where you can't hear a sound.
It's not a choice between life and death,
But a choice within your mind.
You cannot search for who you are,
If you decide to hide.

I look at you, you look at me,
And it's all so surreal.
The worst is holding onto your soul,
But, nothing you can feel.

I know you want to touch the bottom,
And surface to the top.
But you're convinced that there is no way,
You'd ever want to stop.

I know you want to break free,
And swim back onto land.
Even though you tell yourself
That you won't stand a chance.

Don't tell me any differently,
I can see it in your eyes.
You want to live, you want to love,
Do it all before you die.

It's not your time to leave this Earth,
And fly into the sky.
Let's get you dry and take you home,
No sorrys or goodbyes.

Story of Time

It is land of seas but was born in fire
The fire
Is what creation of our planet would inspire
Only when it cooled it put on more familiar attire

Than it was world of sea
With strange creatures in that sea
For next one hundred and forty million years only sea
Would control Earth’s destiny

Than creatures began to come onto land
Some adapted to live in trees others sand
Many different creatures would be found
In this strange but fertile land

Amphibians then reptiles in blink of evolutionary eye
And reptiles dominated earth, sea and sky
Pterodactyls would learn how to fly
But at the end of Mesozoic they and dinosaurs would die

New life would form
Mammals would evolve like a storm
New plants would take form
And seeing birds would now be norm

Then finally man appeared
And from certain point of view he is also weird
Through his time man both cried and cheered
And so far has not disappeared

He has mastered many things in his time
But what would be sublime
Is if he mastered the very time
And more importantly every line of time

When we see sea or huge field of grass we know it’s vast
When I look at the sun as it shadow down on the sea of grass it will cast
I realize time is vast
But divine must be face behind sun and time that forever will last

Jonah

My word arose in Jonah's ear
To Nineveh say, "The judgment’s near;
Now harken unto My decree,
For your wicked ways have come to Me."

But from My presence Jonah fled
Down to Joppa so he sped
To Tarshish he bought a fare
In a ship to take him there.

The ship was battered by winds intense
The cargo lost at great expense
The captain cried, "Why do you sleep?
Entreat your God, our souls to keep."

The one was sought and lots were cast
It fell on Jonah - the truth at last.
"I am a Hebrew, I fear the Lord;
Save yourselves, throw me overboard."

"Do not charge us for Jonah's life
By ridding him we'll end this strife."
With fear and dread they threw him in
A fish prepared to swallow him.

Three days and nights he suffered hell
A time to think from where he fell
From the mouth of Sheol repentance grew
And onto land the fish did spew.

The streets of Nineveh heard that day
A prophet's warning to obey.
A fast was called, the city spared
The prophet left, his anger flared.

Another slap, it came his way
The mercy of God to those who obey
The sun, the shelter, the worm, the vine
The love of God meant to refine.

The storms of life are there to warn
Of impending judgement about to dawn
As My people run from Me
A fish I send to set them free.

Our blue planet, the epitome of primal beauty,
a unique dot of singularity in celestial infinity,
revolved in astral space spinning nature’s splendors,
until on evolution trail hostile species of man arrived.

The creeping swarm of greed called progress
devours the green blanket thriving for ages,
constructs the toxic greenhouse on the planet instead,
extreme climate events trace global warming trajectory.

Glaciers and ice sheets melt at alarming rate,
rise of sea-level is unparallel in human history,
makes ingress of oceans onto land a future reality,
time would come to create the modern Noah’s ark.

The pristine nature was in realm of grandeur
in harmony with its stable innate equilibrium,
the stride of wanton exploitation marches on and on,
if unheeded, it’ll soon cross the sustainability rubicon.

Freedom Ship

Freedom Ship

There is a ship floating in the harbor
It has a long history behind it
Hauling hundreds of starving people
Men, women and children
Loaded in the ship’s belly
Fleeing from torture and death
They cried and mourned for those left behind
Thinking about how their loved ones must live
But this ship had a long tradition
When they brought its passengers to land
The Captain would turn on every light
To let freedom know those people were coming
And to give everyone the hope they never knew
And that hope grew as they stepped onto land
That special would not wait
It left again immediately, with its lights out
