Premium Member I Write

I write…
I write of many things- tangible and intangible
My faith and ideals, work and play
My life and loves; my successes and failures, too
Of war and peace and material things
A million thoughts throughout the day
Transform into forms and shapes
And my heart speaks its truths
Which crowd the corners of my mind
At times fiercely threatening to riot!,
It is then I pause and listen, as it seems they
Attempt to burst heart and mind at the seams!
And no recourse do I have then,
So eagerly, joyfully, I open wide, the gates!
I see them charge onto paper or electronic screen!
'Sweet freedom'! They seem to shout triumphantly,
In their final escape from emminent death!
They escape the endless holding cells
Then disburse throughout the universe
Seeking to inspire, console, bring some smiles
To feed weary souls of fellowmen.
I write because it brings me untold joy!
I am a poet

I know nothing of meters and such
Never was one to read poetry much

Spent most of my life in the dark
A lost soul trying to make his mark

To free myself of my own plight
Picked up a pen and started to write

No idea what I would write about
I opened my soul let it all pour out

Lost in the plight of father time
I wrote out rhyme after rhyme

Through my poems it occurred to me
I’m no longer bound my mind is free

And with-in that freedom what I found
Every beating heart has its own sound

Many years later and free of the dope
I found in the Lord a brand new hope

Straight from my heart I hope I show it
It was truly my fate to become a poet

To Write Your Best

To write the finest poem that your heart and mind permit
You must let go of yourself and earthly bonds, dream vocally
Speak aloud in your mind of feelings, both good and bad
Let the words overcome you, present themselves to you
Take them, rearrange them and stir in deep meaning
Thereby touching on the heart of something that matters so
In other words, to write that one, that special one, let yourself go

I Almost Lost It!

I looked in the file cabinet but I could not find it there.
It obviously had not been filed; I began to look elsewhere.
I looked on the lamp table beside the green armchair.
Only to find my poem was gone, but I did not despair.

I looked in drawers in every room; frustration did forbear.
Exactly where I put my work, I was not aware.
I looked beneath my knitwear, my neck-wear, and nightwear.
My poem, lost in a nightmare, had vanished in thin air.

I began to search the kitchen, aggravation in full glare.
I looked behind the china, the stoneware, and glassware.
I looked between the pots and pans, beneath the new cookware.
All too soon, my family knew my recall required repair.

So, I retraced my every move as fear began to blare.
There was nothing else to do but eat a chocolate éclair.
(But I was on a diet; so, instead…yea, right…I ate a pear.)
And all of this I did before my heart felt great despair.

“My Dear” came to help me, for I could find the poem nowhere.
At times like this, when things are lost, life seems so unfair.
The devil cast his fiery net, but my soul he did not ensnare.
I calmed myself, my hope was bare, and then, I said a prayer.

It was soon discovered, after I cried, but did not swear.
That it was in the computer room, not stolen by some corsair.
A plastic drawer behind my chair had become my poetry lair.
Forgotten works, unfinished thoughts, old poems were nestled there.

Relief, now sighed, I caressed the page, new verse written with care.
And it was not long after this dreadful affair that I became aware.
Each poem that flows from a poet's heart is written with personal flare.
Uniquely styled, with passionate views, shared insights, loved and rare.

Whether upon the computer or on paper a poet's poems find air.
Each published thought from soul to man must be carefully stored somewhere.
So, when upon a summer's steam you write your thoughts so fair.
Put them in a most safe place, consistently, and you will find them there.

Reverberating Echoes of Beauty- Reverberating Beauty

Echoes of wonder streaking lightening from the clouds above
Transcending, ascending and descending in ways that defile the norms and laws of mankind
Beautiful moments that caress anew purely, initiating continual healing of broken pieces of hearts together
Floating, flashing and striking across the footprints of the dust of earth, illuminating bright with scenarios overshadowed with the history of the stars
Leaving signals, signs, symbols and legacies from one generation to another
Paving ways for the seeds of tomorrow planted by our forefathers
We perceive their legacies inscribed onto our hearts as the salty streams emerge at the sites and sight of hollow grounds
Alluring, deeming, redeeming, intriguing, captivating ~invigorating

Lost in an alluring unconscious state of fantasy
These hymns soar delivering kisses of liberation to every creature~soul
All is soaked, buried and trapped within this “interminable” infinity
Like tiny drops of pure silk and honey melting into an ocean that swirl from the eternal seat of a source unknown, unfurling with butterflies sucking nectar from flowers

Silently I lay helplessly numb, emotionally stunned at the taste of original beauty
While my heart is frozen
My hands and feet submerged cold
Watching a drop of water slowly gathering into oceans and seas that drift their coolness caressing the shores
These hymns strike chords that send currents of shock waves of eternity into my soul~spinal cord
Ripping my sorrows apart
Washing my soul's slate clean

The fabric of my skin suddenly becomes the template ~molecular workbench of musical strings generating rhythms~inscriptions~symbols unknown
My heart the source of its swing~melody and rhythms that bend sound waves into malleable shapes unseen
Perforating transparent light waves of different rays that intertwine with assorted colors spinning me around as I sink sleeping into this unending infinity

Gradually and quietly diminishing as seeds germinate, sprouting into flowers unfurling their petals to freedom under the eternal liberation ray of the sun’s shield.

The Poem (Inspired By David Smalling)

Before the lapwing learned to fly
Before the flower came to die
Or make a presence of death
Out of the fragrance of our breath
Before the drum
And before the thunder rolled
A voice
Behind the curtain of the dark
Like a quickening, sudden spark
A voice
Across the waters scrolled
And now behold
Words with wings of tongue beating
In little cages, singing heartbroken songs
The Word
Becoming man
Dreaming of eternity out of eternity
That seems never coming back again
And I
Breaking global boundaries with my feathers
I crying to leave my chains
Like sepulchre clothing in a cave
I hating the partition of rooms, the segment of brains
Hating the new world order and oppression
Know my cage is not vitual
O let no genie turn my love into a ritual
I hear their wings beating in head
My heart is a sudden sleepless bed
I write the sound of images
My heart returning where I fled
Time and space chaining me to the dead
Things giving birth in my head.

Inexplicable View...

Back to home after a tiring day
Wished to get a heartily repose
Reclined on sofa with no thought
Show in soup many featured posts.
One gained my attentive attention
About the unpaid nature so pure
Words simple touching the Soul
Pleasure as if from heart it flowed.
Stretching speechless all the more
Carried to a different land of allure
Far from material and glamour zone
Paused with fumbling words galore.
No comment for view of piece adored
As I turned “me “a messenger of God
To no longer let deforestation go on
Be a volunteer to nurture nature.
At my end prevent its wastage ever
No comment doesn’t imply not good
In fact the appreciation was heart felt
Rekindled the message of author to all.
Thankful to write this theme this day
As an opportunity for respect to pay
For letting view such austere writing
Changing my life for best than better!

Premium Member Imagine By John For Yoko

In the annuls of time
A song was written
By John Lennon
In love and smitten

His Japanese girl
Had caught his eye
Was it
The Beatles demise

The songs he wrote
Since the Beatles departed
It was 1971
And his new career started

In this year
His most famous write
A year after the Beatles
Disappeared from sight

His heart now captured
By a Japanese girl
Imagine that
His heart in a twirl

Her poetry inspired
For John to write
Her World War two horrors
Brought to light

For his inspiration
In his writing suit
Yoko Ono's book
Grapefruit

Imagine a raindrop
Imagine the clouds dripping
Give peace a chance
Listen to John's singing

In dedication to an Ex-Beatle whose awesome track " Imagine "
is sung all through out the world

Whispering Letters

My heart speaks with a wordless voice
Whilst my hands seek to word the noise
It does not understand at times
My emotions run riot in a haze of confusion
Amidst this sifting and separating
Of what really is that has to be said
About what, anything if at all something
My body convulses in a nameless agony
Painless in its infliction but restless
In its captivity within me
My eyes dance in a mysterious light
The first to decipher what my heart speaks but chooses to hide

Text

Slight vibrations quake my heart
I long to hear her silent tone
Intervals are my demise
Apoptosis in lovers cell?

Thoughts race towards self-destruction
Divers expect a fatal crash
No fulfillment, no peace of mind
Nymphos in catholic school

Emoticons con my emotions
Truth lays in these dotted eyes
Blue crashing waves pull me under
No more desire to fight this pool

Curb my cravings of fasting hunger
I delight through unspoken solitude
A heart that beats is one that lives
My heart waits to hear the tune

Premium Member Free Verse

From the heart with unfathomable depths
Innermost emotions forever, deeply stir
Overflowing at times they beg release from captivity
And in no way is dependent upon our reason or rhyme
Through verse they are freed and echo throughout the universe
Most often prompted by a sweet essence renowned
Through the musings of the spirit murmuring
Interpreting the dictates of heart to mind
The hopes and dreams of men lie in silent wait for liberty
The precepts of my free verse, and freedom of expression
Remain unencumbered, unrestrained
Without defamation, or degradation
Meant always to uplift and promote growth and success
And like waters from flowing rivers, irrigate and nurture seeds
Scattered across our parched, dry earth

No Secret (Reversed Verse)

For naught
Tempt in darkness
That which the heart would not
Have revealed by light un-harnessed--
Confess
~O~
Confess
Have revealed by light un-harnessed--
That which the heart would not
Tempt in darkness
For naught

If you open your heart and close off your mind
Leave all preconceived notions behind

Shut your eyes and close out the light
Just let your soul drift like a thief in the night

Let it drift straight into your heart
For this is where true understanding starts

People believe you understand with your mind
This is because people are blind

I've come to learn true understanding starts
When you let the soul join with the heart

As I write my poems what I try to do
Is open my heart so your soul pour through

Even though I don't know you have never seen your face
Our souls and hearts join together in a special embrace

When this happens believe me its true
The next poem I write just might come from you

Maybe not all but a special part
Will be from your soul brought back through my heart

So could you please let your soul drift away?
Because mine is real lonely and needs

Written from the hole in prison

Emotional Roller Coaster

Love,
I swear it's an emotional roller coaster
I wasn't suppose to fall in love so fast but I did
and thats the thing
I didn't know what I had till it was gone
and now my mental has me thinking
I did everything wrong
maybe I did, maybe I didn't
but now that my heart is in construction
I see myself doing more & more lusting
but deep down all I was looking for
was a woman who I could call my woman
my lady & somebody who I'll be happy to say
she's pregnant wit my baby
yeah to some of y'all it might sound crazy
but at an early age I chose to understand love
prior to my heart gettin thrown in the mud
that 1st love of mine she changed my mental
but I'm just explaining to y'all
just explaining what I been threw
