To Write Your Best

To write the finest poem that your heart and mind permit
You must let go of yourself and earthly bonds, dream vocally
Speak aloud in your mind of feelings, both good and bad
Let the words overcome you, present themselves to you
Take them, rearrange them and stir in deep meaning
Thereby touching on the heart of something that matters so
In other words, to write that one, that special one, let yourself go

Its been a long time since I wrote any poetry.. And I miss the feeling of writing one. I love the tone and the feeling of this poem. Thanks for sharing the inspiration. Love, Varise.

You are so right. Sometimes, if I think about it too hard, the words won't come. If I just get carried away, without trying so hard, the words come easier. So true, Michael. ~ Carrie

EXACTLY! my best poetry comes when I release the conscious mind (the one constantly muttering within the mind) and just write...my best poems come within minutes and actually, I just posted a poem about that today! love Kristin
