Best Obvious Poems
There’s God and there’s the devil
Man’s caught in the middle
Who’s good and who’s evil,
There’s Heaven and there’s hell
More beautiful is the earth
Can anyone otherwise tell,
There’s sin and there’s confession
Then there’s the rule of law
To constraint further transgression,
There’s Koran and there’s Bible
Forget William Shakespeare
Man plays the role of the disciple,
There’s Politics and there’s Religion
Trapped like a rabbit
Man is the lost homing pigeon,
There’s lyric and there’s melody
You have Opera and rap
It’s time to end this parody,
You have pouring rainfall
There are lakes and oceans
Bubbling brooks and waterfall,
There are grass, shrub and tree
Man’s eternal soul
Forever craving to be free.

Talent is when you know how to do something
without any understanding of why or how you do it
Talent is automatic, talent is enthusiasm, talent is pure love of doing
She comes in all shapes and sizes
She falls out of the sky
She tweaks your nose
She is playful and friendly
Talent is your best friend
But sometimes your worst enemy
if your talent is something everyone needs
but no one wants to pay for.
Talent is excitement, talent is love, talent is hope.
Talent is obvious, but sometimes not to you.
However, to everyone around you.

Every new day, the sun will rise.
As time passes, the moon expands.
Reasons to act without surprise.
Every day, the wind brings new ambition.
The river flows into the shoreline.
Every day holds a new lesson.
Every day, a new baby is born.
After nine months of pregnancy.
God promises and bestows adorned.
Stars will illuminate our nights.
Large ships navigate in deeper water.
Abetted by vast cosmic sights
Plants will surely grow.
It's an unavoidable indication!
Obvious, as we all know.
Without a problem, there is no solution.
We prefer to go right to specifics.
Valuables are found in the deep section.
Outcomes are entirely arbitrary.
How deeply one will be involved.
Outside the scope of the fantasy.
Forecast what people say, I believe.
Vague terms are complex to discern.
Events were hardly what we perceive.

We no longer move in normal ways
and all this because of Covid 19
I no longer watch the news these days
Each day I pray for a simple cure
but as the numbers climb I realize
prayer is the only way to procure
Time lapses and we are losing ground
wish I could see a miracle or two
perhaps it would help me feel sound
Guardian angels are prepping their wings
preparing for their journey on earth
if I cup my ear, I can hear them sing
Hope is the only thing worth a keeping
in this world of uncertain terms
we got each other so lets keep steeping
Soak in the Faith as if it were a straw
we are al so very vulnerable
and none of us are above the law
Life is a gift so we shouldn't assume
never take any one for granted
hold on to each other while in loom
Thank the stars above that our still here
and even if you are afraid
be brave, and never give in to fear.

whims may become a blessing or a curse
pushing one toward certain ruin or worse
drinking from the deep well of evasion
well versed in dark practices of persuasion
fixating on dreams of what ought to be
avoiding what mirrors reality
totally free of social encumbrances
in spite of what the best assumption is
wandering through this life oblivious
hiding from anything too obvious
urge to be free of all expectation
jumped right into without hesitation
do not question need to swallow it whole
subtle art of self-induced mind control

You're chatting with your pals, but the subjects ain't the same!
No talk of sports or music, or movies you can name!
It's more the results of MRI's, CAT SCAN's and the such!
Medications that you're taking, how often and how much?
The Doctor's that you're seeing. What do they have to say?
Do you need special treatment? Is your insurance gonna pay?
These answers, plus your aches and pains, you simply must contend,
the obvious conclusion, you've reached Old Age, my friend!

On this earth, the sun rises in the east
And sets in the west
This cosmic phenomenon can’t be missed.
On this earth, the oceans are tinged blue
From where their water came
They have no clue.
On this earth, to the sea the rivers flow
At the edge of growing delta
New land is formed low.
On this earth, the winter time is cold
Northern wind spreads the mist
Dark gloomy sky can’t hold.
On this earth, flowers bloom in spring
Colors splash on green meadows
Butterflies flitter on latticed wings.
On this earth, rain forests are vanishing fast
To control global warming
We need to preserve them, we must.
On this earth, life is a unique entity
Evolution in geologic eons has caused
In the blue planet biodiversity.
On this earth, humans are species of distinction
Ravaging the pristine nature
They will surely face extinction.

Life is a cycle of joys and sorrows
Ups and downs come and go, sometimes high, sometimes low
Use your todays, don't think of tomorrows
Failure is the stepping stone to success
A win requires hard work, something we cannot shirk
Challenges are needed to make progress
A leopard cannot change his dotted spots
Can't straighten a dog's tail, try it, you're bound to fail
The speed of a ship is measured in knots
There is no taste in the white of an egg
Can't get taste without salt, for pickles it's default
Love and trust must be earned, you cannot beg
No one can number the stars in the sky
The sand can't be counted, the rain not accounted
Lightning can't be controlled by human eye
No man can stop the bottles of heaven
Clouds you can't number, or change winter to summer
Can't give food to the young ones of raven
God has deprived the ostrich of wisdom
Her eggs she does not guard, her heart does become hard
She's cruel, but that's her innate system
The eagle mounts up, makes her nest on high
The horse is not afraid, with thunder he's arrayed
All these facts are obvious, can't deny

“Dear Lord and Savior, hear my plea.
I've one request - wait, two or three....
This time though, I'm in a fix,
so maybe there'll be five or six....
Please answer quickly, hear me now
and I'll pray daily - that's my vow.
Unlike before, please don't postpone,
for really Lord, You should have known.
I've sacrificed so much for You,
for years been nagged by 'you know who'....
The children too, yell at the spouse -
we really need a larger house....
My boat is bleached from Your hot sun
so I really need a brand new one.
My wardrobes full - but can't wear those,
for Heaven knows I need new clothes.
You know I just went out to eat,
‘all I could eat' - wow, what a treat -
topped it off with cream and cake -
so take away my stomach ache.
I've tried so hard to lose some weight,
from all this fat that You create....
I feel so tired and weak somehow,
so give me strength - I need it now.
Oh, thank You for my new guitar,
my brand new camper, one more car,
but vacation's what I really need -
roller coasters, lots of speed.
You are so great. I know You care,
so answer now, my simple prayer.
These aren't mere words, these are my needs
and if You grant, I've more good deeds....
There's so much more I'd ask of You,
with credit cards long overdue....
But you, dear Lord, must surely know,
the fish are biting. I must go.
I only ask for what I need.
These are not 'wants' so please proceed.
Stay close to me. I'll call again.
Please grant me what I need, Amen.”

Clear as black and white, they say,
In Occam’s razor slashing terms,
Exempting endless hues of gray.
Despite spotless reputation,
“The Obvious”, on occasion -
Subject to interpretation.
Findings depend on where we look,
How far we venture to explore
Beyond the cover of the book.
The most erroneous of all -
Character sketch at a quick glance -
An eye assessment of one’s soul.
Through the prism of closed mind’s sight
A premature line is drawn,
Assuming either black or white.
Unless we deeply delve within
We scratch the surface of what seems,
While substance lies beneath the skin.
Hard proven facts one can’t deny,
Nevertheless, each story holds
Second, eye opening blind side.
“Stating the Obvious” I deem,
Unless they're clearly black and white,
Things are not always what they seem.

With the cares of every day
You are so weary
It is time to pray
As you pass along life’s way
Your fondest hopes fade
It is time to pray
By the things some people say
You are so betrayed
It is time to pray
You know your life’s gone astray
Something isn’t right
It is time to pray
When things in your life seem gray
The sunshine vanished
It is time to pray
When your nerves begin to fray
You want to lash out
It is time to pray
If you are about to sway
Away from your truth
It is time to pray
You are tempted to betray
Those who love you most
It is time to pray

When you die
You are gone
It's goodbye
No one stays
On this earth
For all days
It is said
Past is past
Dead is dead
Done is done
And for whom?
Everyone
You won't know
When it's your
Time to go
Need I say?
That's the world
That's the way
That's the trade
That's the rule
No one made
So come on
Live your life
'Fore it's gone

This years race for president is impious.
Making my thoughts ever so oblivious.
So I have made a my own decision auspicious.
If they should win, others would be envious.
That is why I shall vote a candidate so devious.
While others may say he is completely dubious.
At least I feel that this one is ambitious.
So I will cast my vote for, Captain Obvious.

Fate or coincidence
as if we have a choice
constantly at odd
with those who share
a difference in their voice
as if we could change the world
so pretentious for us to concieve
as if only a single soul
still in me would believe
Fake or conciousness
a notion to betrothed
as if you betterment
was for me to love and loathe
everything in place the explanation
was there was a grand design for that
or just a repetition of certain circumstances
and leave no chance to reason
Break the code
or break the mode
broken cycles, growing old
fading voices go being unknown
but my choice is mine alone
take the hand of a higher power
or take a thermo nuclear shower
submit or be done with
tossed out like the waste
just a tiny hint of power
leaves a certain taste
corruption is only almost certain
free will still relates
to the points so poignant
they are pinpointed mistakes
not yet made
Premeditated, so there goes destiny
as if a higher power
has the power to contain me
as if a higher consious is out there
for me to have
thats the only certainty I know
almost for sure why I push back
the unknown is out there
driving all so called life
for you so call everything
must come easy for you
like butter to the knife
and you wonder why your drowning
and cannot break the surface
look deep inside your mirror
into the fate you may be worthless, coincidentally
