A New Day, a New World, a New Tomorrow

A new day, a new world, a new tomorrow

Shades of painted corners
face these inward fears
Now drenched in today’s worries,
as flat as the cornerstone of suffering
caught within boundaries along wasting moments,
crying blanket feelings,
pounding on the walls of despair

“leaving fist prints like so many discarded roses”

Calling out to the endless deafness
“Time it does not heal,
scars merely cut deeper”,
in echoes among the tapered distance
Fog engulfs the melody, slowly chasing
after poetic symphonies
playing from a southern direction

“vertical compass points from there to here”

Your weary hand trembles
violently as it reaches, pleads
where a monochrome sun sets,
beyond the chosen horizon
in heart shaped vistas and sweet tea landscapes
Trust grows in amber glowing beacons
waving banners of solitude

“free flowing fabric beckoning in longed for motions”

You force the stoic front door open,
creaking hinges scream, fears cup beneath your chest
Breathing in the stench of the past
but lured by the fragrance of the future
Where sorrow drowns in cascade pools,
pain hides where it can not be found
and he waits to lift you beyond the darkness

“and you find you have wings, safely within his opened arms”

Now floating towards a white picket gate,
swinging freely beneath the arbor,
once a collection of lattice work shadows, dark lines
on a desolate earth, now a tapestry
of blooms, woven among long dreamt dreams and
clover leaf wishes revealing a pathway
to the beginning of

“a new day, a new world, a new tomorrow”

Winter is leaving a patchwork behind
Woven lumps of snow, for spring to un-wind
Melting into flowing streams, easy to follow
Right on down to the river bend's flow
A place for my soul's revival, under tall pines, soft soil
A nice place of rest from burdening toil
I can imagine I'll be there pretty soon
Set a date with my muse sometime before noon
The river may show me something special to say
Bringing with its music, a refreshing, new day

With Each New Day

With each new day

~

The night is silent
as evening drapes her cloth
above all that is seen
and shadows sit wondering…
what shapes will find them

Thoughts invade these hours
while fireflies sift through
evergreens now still,
seeking only but a soft breeze
whispering sweet dreams on feathered branches

And I sit here on the lawn,
counting minutes, feeling the emptiness
the midnight skies seep,
longing for what will come
on the eastern horizon

For that is where I shall find you,
glowing in tangerine ribbons,
painting pink clouds in dawn’s blushing brush strokes,
igniting a new day in effervescent colors…
as the sun rises and I smile

As once again we converse,
drinking coffee and loving life, enjoying
what comes from the awareness
that friendship truly does exist
with each new day we face

Good morning Soupers

Love Pray New Day Enjoy the Gift

New Day

Give us all a New Day
Give us all a Holiday
Give us all a brighter dawn

So when the Sun pierces our curtains
That what which we were uncertain
Are consigned to our past
Like ghosts and ashes

So give us all a New Day
And let the sun shine
Into every room
Where the clouds of doom
Are decorations and affirmations

That the Storm is clearing
And the Sky has no ceiling
For all we are feeling
Is Love and Rocket's
Set for the Sun

Come On
Come on
And all become 1
Who fear none
As Love's great reward
Is nothing more than that
Love itself

Enjoy the gift
And give the World
A well deserved Lift

Streetlight shadows, sentinals of the night
Give up their posts
Secrets safe

Crescent Moon, Venus in tow
Sighs its last breath
Waning on the horizon

Newspapers flop at doors, car exhaust
Once more bubbles
 In the sunrise

Thoughts of commerce, or lack of it
Fill heads with coffee

Below the bridge, alongside the river
Ducks push out a few feet
Stirred by the homeless
Searching for firewood

Lights flicker in tall buildings
Hoping this will be the day

My thoughts turn to rhubarb pie
In season now

Freshly

Baked.

Away all sorrow

   Move swiftly into the past

      Today's a new day

        Wanting only happiness

            Tomorrow is further still...

Each New Day

        It's a new day today,
     New challenges ahead,
  New things to be explored,
New roadways to be tread.

        Each day has its lessons,
From which we get to learn,
  Sometimes, there are new risks,
Which teach us to discern.

Let us thank and praise God,
     Each day as we commence,
  And He'll carry us through
Each new experience.

Luna fades to dream
As the sleepy Earth's eyelids
Begin to flutter...

A New Day

Her grateful kiss moistens the dawn, raised arms embrace the sun.
A light like fire burns for all time, a new day has begun.
When Sunday morning’s church bell chimed, brisk steps tapped with the song.
Gray walls of stone held prayers within, stained glass cast shadows long.
She stood hunched low prisoned by sin, carved statues froze her feet.
A face of slate hid darkest fears, her path walked in defeat.
A voice of hope from prayer spoke clear, love shined from grace unbound.
With arms held high and knees bent low, soul praised without a sound.
On high, she saw gold haloes glow and wings spanning blue sky.
This Sunday morn behind church doors, to hate she said goodbye.
With love, each new day to explore becomes a welcomed gift.
The world around her is her church, God’s beauty does uplift!
Heavenly song floats from high perch, the birds know all too well
God’s love brought forth a melody from Sunday’s old church bell.
Then when the bells toll solemnly, she’ll rise to a new song;
bell’s chime will call to other souls as new days come along.

"I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart) I am never without it..." E.E. Cummings

Hello my dearest darling, it was our time to wake,
The rustic rooster had already roused my reverie,
Heralding the dewy dawn
Of our new great day.
For I could never live without you.
I yearned for your presence all the time.
Everywhere in the countryside was peace
And crowned with our steadfast love
With the sound of nurturing nature.

As I lay on our comfy broad bed,
I looked at my still-slumbering wedded wife.
Her fragrant freckled face looked on so serenely,
A soft sweet smile hovered on her luscious lips
So peaceful and fair,
As if she were amid many pleasant placid dreams
So I could not bear to wake her up and spoil
Her various favorite fantasies.

Suddenly her emerald eyes fluttered wide open,
And saw my boyish grim smiling seductively at her.
She grabbed my head and lowered me on her lips
That smell of lavish lavender filled my nostrils.
This was a harmonious heaven on earth.
Later we went down for our favorite food,
We rode our bikes and pedaled hard,
Admiring the snow-capped mountains that rose far.
Cedars, larches, and junipers adorned the steep slopes
Where eagles, kites and vultures flew
Searching for their potential prey.
Whilst on the grassy picturesque plain,
Warblers, thrushes and orioles
Twittered their serenade symphony songs.

Finally, we arrived at my Taverna
And beckoned the masterful Manager.
Heard the required report on the gains I made.
Everything was smooth
For I wear my enchanting emotions up my sleeve.

We idled the dreamy day away,
Hugging and kissing most of the time.
Partook of a delicious dinner for two,
But at closing time we went back home,
To a well-needed restful rural repose
In each other’s enticing embrace.

Draped over the land like a ghostly shroud,
a blanket of morning mist
morphs into rolling banks of fog;
soft as an eider-filled duvet.

Dawn rebukes Night's claim to darkened skies
and armed with chisels of light,
sculpts ebony shadows
into shifting shapes,
sent scurrying into nooks and crevices.

Pink, indigo, and blue hues
expunge an ebony canvas of stars and moon;
as color emerges from first light.
While a bashful breeze blows silhouettes into disarray;
etch-a-sketching, a brand-new day.
And subtle sleeping sounds, slowly awaken;
giving voice to Nature:
while a scarlet sun silently shimmies up a crimson sky.

A New Day

A NEW DAY

The start of a brand new day,
  Another beginning,
A fresh start in the morning
  What will today bring?
Will it bring rags or riches?
  Nobody knows for sure.
  What unexpected things life brings,
  But harmony peace and gentleness,
  Who could want more?
Respect, good wishes and kind words,
  Is important and we adore.
  Gentleness is needed,
And helps you through the day,
  Caring and gentle people,
Who have good things to say.
  Making a peaceful world,
  Is important to us all,
  Love, respect and honesty,
  We need forever more!

A New Day

I search and i fight,
                                   in hopes of new light.
And to the ones who fight,
                                         For this light,
Even though there could come a fright,
With a smile i show you my delight.
I, you, and they hope for what may
                                     Untill the new day.

Premium Member Window At Dawn

spinning dreams like
Irish fairytales
weaved in spider spun baskets
held my memory still and soft
in hibernation as fossils
waking from haunting slumber
in rock cottages on oceans wild and blue
telling tales of childlike delight
with giggles of innocent freedom
while through the window
catching the glint
in the sun’s opening eye
the golden blanket of hope sneaks
on silent caterpillar feet
slowly measuring
the distance of shadows
as the warbles of songbirds lift
to the amazing dawn of sky
my joy warms the cold blankets
as eyes vaguely open
mating with the new found day
capsized with the heartbeat and rhythms
of all that walks, runs, swims or flies
my joy leaps into this womb
of eternal happiness
as I rise to a splendid day
