Poem for my neice

such innocent beauty is yours
my tender, fragile soul
the light in your eyes
reflecting the true loveliness
deep within that does arise
your smile my dear
captivates the heart
as you lie in my arms so near
a true work of art ?

Red sky at night sailors delight

How does 1 cut the hair on a head that's no longer here,
prolonged was the shadow with holding tender mercy.
With I left needy, no 1 to toast our final beer.
Since have I found no inner peace,
instead I poured your love into 3 neice.
Believing you flew free upon release,
back to the deck of the Cavalier,
moored off the Cape of Good Hope
where you finally found that you belonged there
Sat on the pier, red sky at night,
Gerard's delight...

We'll Miss You

you was someone special to us all
you put a smile on our faces
even when it was us you were talking about
you even made us feel special when you talked about us
because that let us know that you loved us
and that you might even like us just alittle bit
you've been here thoughout my childhood
and it was just normal for you to be here and there
but now that your gone
life just want be the same
because i'll never hear a good joke about me
it's going to be boring around here
without someone with all that spice and spuck you have
around to make us laught
love you and you will forever be missed
       love you
         your neice

Is poetry
the music without its words
outside its silence?

Sunset melting drips
sap rises, bed sheets ripple -
dewy bodies float

Suburban fox,
tearing bin-bags for morsels -
seems to like Indian

My eight-year-old neice
wonderous at fairy tales
captivates us all

Enchanted silence -
the babbling brook of calm mind,
flowing to the pulse

Cumulus clouds rise -
serated sheer angels' wings
touch down on heaven

MY neice Angela

Youe are so funny
always making me laugh out loud
Makes the day sunny
You stand out in a croud
Even though your only five three
always crazy and insain
You are care free
An never show your pain
My best friend since birth
My kids buddy and aunt
Best little person on earth
You think we ingnore you but we can't

Happy in my sleep

I have a place in my dreams
Where only she and I can be
And when we're there it seems
She knows everything about me

I talk to her about my lies
And share all my secrets
She answers only with her eyes
Telling me to let go of regrets

I ask her questions about death
And why God took her away
She only takes in a deep breath
And with her eyes says, "you'll know someday"

She walks through a garden of flowers
Outside our cozy place
Then sits by a brook for hours
Where we both just stare out into space

I feel so happy and at peace
Just sitting there holding the hand
Of my beautiful angel... my neice
Knowing someday I'll understand

My peace fades away
As I awake and weep
I try to hurry through my day
So I can be happy again in my sleep.

Jo,you are so thoughtful loving and kind
these are true qualities that are to find
in a young lady that asks nothing in return
you are very bright and eager to learn

About anything from work to every day life
i know you will make mathew a beautiful wife
i am so proud to have you as my neice
you know the right things and only want peace x

Brothers Day

There’s Father’s Day
There’s Mother’s Day
Why can’t there be Brother’s Day
Maybe in the month of May
Set it up without delay
A Brother’s Day
Mom and Dad would probably say
A brother always gets his way
On Brother’s Day
Where would all his sisters stay?
Why – far away
On Brother’s Day
Lunch would be a big subway
Eaten at a small café
On Brother’s Day
And Mom and Dad would be OK
With dinner on a TV tray
On Brother’s Day
Dinner maybe fish fillet
As his entree
On Brother’s Day
Or maybe something done flambé
Anything in big display
On Brother’s Day
And maybe an ice cream buffet
Or a big parfait
On Brother’s Day
And maybe he would get to play
With modeling clay
On Brother’s Day
Or a game of old croquet
Munching Frito-lay
On Brother’s Day
And you can bet there’s be horseplay
Full blown chaos – no halfway
On Brother’s Day
No cutesy pie in no beret
No Tutu from no ballet
On Brother’s Day
No girlie-girls with their hairspray
They can all just sashay
On Brother’s day
Every brother would hooray
If they could waylay
A Brother’s Day
It’s no cliché
Brothers everywhere will pray
For Brothers’ Day

My neice has 4 kids - 3 girls and a boy and the little guy was feeling left out and
wanted to know when Brothers Day.

i was just a small girl, when you hurt my world.
you hurt me for so many days.
days turn into weeks
now i'm left defensive less and weak.
now I've got this big secret on my shoulder.
who can i trust because everyone to busy to notice's hurting me.
what you stole was priceless.
in every one eye sight he hurts me every night.
blind by his kindness.
force to live in hell, my place of home.
faking is so hard, could barely stand too young to make it on my own.
the blood in my underwear, the pain in my eyes; he didn't care.
so young i had to grow up, be strong and stand in the sight of fear.
trap between evil and good.
do other girls go through this? or is this just in my neighborhood.
my hurt and pain how could a little girl take in so much.
i yearn for my mother touch, my father strong hands, my sisters to understand,
my brother to protect me, my cousins to never neglect me, my aunts advice,
my uncles meanest, my best friend hug, my Neice smile, my grandmother
caught up in sorrow, confuse and daze in my mind
with my pain i can't go backwards
yet now i grown and its over and done ,now i leave my past behind and walk
was lost now i'm found
like Maya Angelo i rise! i can to stand on my own ground.
in my soul i forgive but i cant forget, the heartache forever lives inside.
my past i bury and forever hide

My aunt's a shrink

My aunt wanted me to write something espeacially for her,and as much as i like original's i
prefer the second draft to this one:

Maybe she's
Maybe am a favourite neice
Of a shrink of love and peace

The cream
To my fruit
Exhausted samy
Cant have the kids on mute

Pasta sauce
"It's mint,not meat"
Shopping tour in rome
In her tiny shrunken feet

A dumbfounded shrink
And her neice
Who can't attend the sink

The shivering dutch trees
And a mashamba me
Will have in her heart
Her favourite aunty

(Mashamba:A swahelli word referring to someone who is not accustomed to something
commenly known in the modern word)

Richard V.S. Chris

Richard V.S. Chris (Part 1)

Prologue: Tears falling down his face, Richard hurries down the busy street trying to seek
refuge and the mellow mood sanctuary of his bedroom. Opening the front door as quietly as
possible, he listens for any indication of his neice, cousins, aunt, or sis being home. Noticing
he's all alone he runs upstairs to his bathroom, bloodstained and all, he says out loud rather
louder than he intended: "Chris meet me in our room!"
Chris: "sign" what's the problem now, and stop crying you making me look bad, I haven't
cried in years.
Richard: You boast too much Chris, that's your problem, be a man, we all shed tears.
Chris: You not a man for 1, and 2 I'm a real man, so I don't boast. All real men know tears
are married to weakness.
Richard: You must not be human then because you hide your feelings, I show mine with a
Chris: Now see that's YOUR problem, letting everyone know your vulnerability, then you get
betrayed, on the ground, in tranquility.
Richard: I don't care anymore man, feelings mean you have guts.
Chris: You care coward admit it, that's another problem you care too much.
Richard: If you care for someone freely, they'll care for you freely how could you let that
Chris: My dear half, free means to finish last.
Richard: You think you perfect, like your mind is all smart.
Chris: I gotta admit, gettingover with my mind games is an art!
Richard (Punchin da bathroom door): It's your fault Tashawn is gone I just can't get over it!
Chris: Stop being soft, he's gone in a better place with worms and sticks.
Richard:You won't hurt anybody else, you can't do nothing.
Chris (Smiling): How can you LET me do something?
Richard: At first I tried to grant you freedom, but I can't let you roam free, you don't deserve
Chris (laughin his head off and pointing through the mirror): Look at you man, thinking you
can shell me like some a hermit.
Epilogue: Richard stands over the sink face-to-face with Chris. Dried tears border his face as
Chris grins and sneer at him. Richard is taking full responsibility for his actions. Letting Chris
takeover for a handfull of years has set him back so far physically, emotionally, socially, and
mentally. How will he repair the dehumanization of his character when it has been slowly
incinerated away like a tower being burned to the ground? The people close to him and away
has been distantly affected by what he calls the "parasite." How will he rebuild?

You will be Missed, Monique

So much personality and drive,
everyday was a new suprise.
The love and joy that shun forth through your eyes,
is a memory that will never die in our minds.
It was much much to early for us to say goodbye.
To a beautiful young lady
that played such a prominent role in all of our lives.
Our cousin, our daughter, our neice, our friend.
Our love, our heart, now rests in peace.
No more worries, no more cries,
as much as it hurts, we must now dry our eyes.
We know the promise for her future,
and in Jehovah God's memory she lies.
One day she'll rise again
happy, energetic, perfect, full of life.

Resting in Peace

Broken promises, Shattered dreams,
Everyone says what nobody means,
Lost hope, Stolen smile,
Everything heals it just takes a while,
Life taken, Love hurts,
Time to brush off the unseen dirts,
Untold truths, Forbidden lies,
Wipe the tears from your drowning eyes,
Deafening scream, Unheard voices,
Everyone's faced with different choices,
Unseen honesty, Pounding heart,
You're incomplete when you fall apart,
Unfinished buisness, Crippiling pain,
No one here is truly sane,
Ripped soul, Unanswered prayers,
People around but nobody cares,
Lights out, Darkness around,
Now you're 6ft under ground,
Forgotten friend, Missed neice,
As you lay resting in peace.

And You Are Me

(A poem I wrote for my for my neice in reverence of my oldest sister who
died a year ago this past October)

By Roy Merritt

Darling sister and mother just passed
Your memory with us will forever last
And while you linger in the great unknown
Know that your memory carries on
In our minds and hearts it dwells within
Til that time we shall meet again
Whether it be in some heavenly plane
Or cosmic dust we shall remain
United forever we shall be
For I am you and you are me
For I am you and you are me
You were my sister, you gave me life
You gave me shelter, you eased my strife
And so on into eternity
You shall forever be with me
For I am you and you are me
For I am you and you are me

She ran outside
pants on backwards
missing a jacket
still as cute
as I remember
but that thought
will always replay
over in my head.

Drunken men
and Kin all around
people you say
are like family
but I trust none
of your words
strangers are
never like family
and sometimes
family can even hurt

She's only a little girl
what is she doing
around grown men?
Spending the night
with her daddy I know
but you leave her
under no type of supervision

I'm afraid for her
for these drunken kin
have hands
and they might touch
her inappropriately
and cause my little
neice to grow up
with scars.
scars that I will
blame you for.
Scars that she
will blame you for.
Scars that will make
her sad and damaged for sure.

 The image of my neice
running outside
with pants on backwards
and a missing jacket
makes me nervous
cause your never cautious
and child molestation
barely takes a moment
to occur.
