The Knot
THE KNOT

In this dark lonely life that I
have
You are my golden star, just
shine
If the happiness that I have is a
sign that you are mine, then it's
fine
I am prepared to cross the line
It's about time I claim...

Are We Not Brothers, Made From The Same Dirt,
(Tribute to Philip Freneau and his poem,
The Dying Indian)

Are We Not Brothers, Made From The Same Dirt

I welcome you- sweet dawn, soft break of day
As your vibrant voice sounds, seeming to say
Lad, I bid you relief...

River Prayer
Winding past sand dunes
like shapes of a cratered moon,
the river moves and ibis stand
on stick thin legs in the grand
flow of the Nile.

Mississippi muds ooze through
headwaters overflow
down to the shrimp bayou.

Macaws call in misty dawn
awakening monkey chatter
through swamps of the Amazon.

Frothy rapids cascade past
cliffs...

My Own Proverbs
My own proverb......

"Gems of purest rays serene when pulled out from the muds retains it purity
But a wise man speaks to a crowd of fools he too becomes a fool"

Israel Refugee In No Man's Land
wish it were raining pots and lots,
  that when it rains or dark comes ,l leave;
because sometimes I do not want anyone to see me .....
I got used to living as a refugee ....
I used to be in privacy ...

Who Are You
You
Who are you?
Who are you to despise me?
To threaten my future?
				To judge me?

Who are you to hold on to my rights?
Who are you to judge my abilities?
Who do you think you are?

A god?
An ignorant and struggling mortal living in the lies of hypocrisy
With no sense...

Deadening the Days
the cool eastern muds of a destroyed day
the still,vacant bodies awaiting decay

a tear shed for a soul
a heart broken now a hole

Wade in the safety of a western morn
steady your head, prepare for your storm

Reach for an end to this despair
with bleeding fingers, and tangled...

Premium Member If I Were a Bee, Bug and Fowl
If I was a young carpenter bee
I would bore in each and every tree
create a big tunnel
where family would funnel
If I was a carpenter bee

But if I was a cockchafer,
I would live a little safer,
I would hide my grubs,
for three years in muds,
If I was...

The Gift
I found a rusted trunk
Accidently, in a corner of
My storage room
Eagerly I opened it
That was filled with my textbooks
Almost of the elementary school
Most of its were white ants eaten
Except the top of a peacock feather
A gift given...

Sobriety
Sobriety
In the beginning, it is like walking on a narrow track
With olive roots over the ground to trip you up and branches
Of trees slapping you in the face, if you fall get up and
Continue to walk to be tired is not an...

Along She Comes
There are kingdoms with no throne
There are children with no love
There are mums who remain alone
There is no love with no one to love

A child alone in the dust and muds
Bitterly covered with rugs and sorrow
His cries vanishing, covered by spells and guns
No shoulder to...

Title: Let them hear...

Let them hear...
From the hills of Isuikwuato
My sleepy hilly land'e
From my new'est bride Uyo
To the ancient muds of Enugu
From Makurdi's Benue river beach
To those peaked crags of Jos
Let them hear...
As I dream of the undying
Lights of the Lagoon city
The snake...

Premium Member A New Spring's Birthday
Today is a new spring’s first day
Today is the birth of a new season
Today is another blessed birthday
Today is a special and memorable Sunday
Indeed, it’s a novel or a new creation
The sky is adorned, decorated with white and blue
And the same colors mirrored in the...

Premium Member Matchmakers Work Their Tails Off
Her toenails had spikes that could stop a train
Her fingers were claws that could dig through a drain
Her teeth were jagged, her breath was ragged.
There was no doubt we would have our work cut out.

Her dad left instructions loud and clear.
To reform and re-create...

Too Bright To Shine
Overlap of melancholy breezes,lips mumble
In maze of complex routes, body bumble

Dark souls shaking head in wonderment
 behind hedge
Frivously pushing themselves over
 the edge

Joy instants sprouted from tiny buds
Pure shrouds dirtied in drizzling muds

Outpouring emotions from wearily wrecked
root
Full moon bride shied at owls
hoot

Of all...
