Best Long Distance Love Poems
When I returned your ring I sat in confusion,
I couldn’t run far enough away to forget you-
When I left I didn’t know what I was losing,
but I moved across the country for a fresh view.
The tears in your eyes I will never forget,
as I told you I was leaving the following week-
Little did I know my decision I’d always regret,
I was just so young, insecure and weak.
It didn’t take too long before I realized my heart,
it had always been you I’d been in love-
My days were hell while we were apart,
of all the remorseful tears I had enough.
So I flew to you as fast as I ever could,
down on bended knee with one white gold ring-
I asked you to marry me this time for good,
for you were the only one to make my soul sing.
We spent months apart until our wedding day,
long distance love had brought us closer than ever-
But it never took long and I knew right away,
eventually we’d be married and together forever.
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder,
far away from you my heart grew ten times-
Without you in my arms my soul would wander,
and I spent my time writing verses of rhymes.
Phone calls all day and late night conversations,
revealing more secrets than we thought we shared-
Even though it was one of the most difficult situations,
we both soon realized how much we truly cared.
The wedding day came and we bought a home,
finally we were able to sleep in the same bed-
No longer were we far away and feeling alone,
but lost in each others tender embrace instead.
Across the country I found my deep adoration,
it will always be you who is the keeper of my heart-
Today my life is full of joy and complete celebration,
for true love was born from being far apart.

In high school we met...walked the halls hand in hand;
he carried my books...by our lockers, we'd stand.
We went out to dinner, our special first date,
shared thoughts, later kissed; each had found a soul-mate.
Before very long, our true love appeared strong,
and we knew in each other's arms we belonged.
He joined the Marines after school, end of June.
Our hearts held together by cupid's harpoon.
Consumed by deep love, it was painful to part;
we would meet 'neath our moon many miles apart.
Wrote letters each day and prayed hard for time when
he'd come home on leave, be together again.
Two years later, we married...new life to start.
Now fifty-eight years still each other's sweetheart.

I never believed in love at first sight until
I saw you. Days later I learned that you
felt the same. We had a whirlwind romance
and got married two months later from the
day we met. We fell madly in love and we
were inseparable.
That all changed the day you got drafted
to go fight for our country. I didn't want
you to go. I became anti war instantly .
But I lost the battle, you chose war over me.
My heart was no longer in my chest, it was
over seas fighting for a war I didn't believe
in. Your letters were my only ray of sunshine.
Days turned to months, months turned to
years.I didn't know if I could survive another
day without you. My lonely nights seemed
like an eternity.
I will never forget when you returned to me, I
was so empty inside and missed you so much.
You saw me staring into nothing and took me
into your arms and my heart started to beat for
the first time since you left.
That my love was the happiest day of my
life. We've been together ever since.

In our distance is our dreamy closeness
In quite fragrant expanse scented flowers
In moon lit sky we seek each other’s face
In Milky Way many restless whispers
The sun sits on the leaves of apple tree
Your face flashes in a nest of robin
The wet grass asks me softly where is she
At the top, hop restless sparrows umpteen
On this side of the sea I breathe empty
On the other side of the great void you
Smelling salted ozone from the deep sea
Go through my poems to feel the pink hue
I write verse to fill my oceanlessness
You inhale in your chest oxygen fresh

Long Distance Love Letter
Until the time is right my love, these words I send to you
I send them post haste, hoping to land with the morning dew
Take my kisses in and place them on your lips for me
Then you can return them warm, please hear my plea.
Kisses sent across the miles, catching the evening breeze
Weaving through the thermals, waiting for you to seize.
Still warm from your caress, I’ll hold them to my lips
Not to miss each other as the fated passing ships.
Anticipation, excitement, building all the while
Expectations not too high, that wouldn’t be my style
Fingers touching, lips brush, hearts race as one
The waiting nearly over, since my heart you won
Waves crashing, smoothing, to ripples on the shore
Leaving behind a feeling, a longing then for more.
I close my eyes and say goodnight until one day we meet
Across the miles so far away you’ll still feel my own heart beat.

In low tones we chatted
On the steps to her porch,
We talked of the decades
Since I’d carried her torch—
Of love we knew nothing
During young naïve years
Of kissing and fondling
‘Til I left her in tears,
For the navy enticed
With ships and adventure:
I sailed away keenly
Aware that I missed her,
Each ivory cloud roiling
I watched sculpt her face,
And the foam in ships’ wakes
Emulated her grace.
How her leer glowered down
With each floozy I’d bed;
Her glare did accost me
From the face that I wed.
But that marriage was fey,
On a short vine it died:
I had loved only once
So to find her I tried:
Thus we sat on those steps
Last night swapping stories,
We confessed of our lives,
Our failures and glories …
And the kiss that welled up
While lightning bugs popped,
Led haltingly bedside
Where our slack clothing dropped.
We then gripped and embraced
Through a torrent of mirth—
Time relented at last
And our love found rebirth.

I just wanna see that face
that I LOVE
My Man & I we fit like
hand & glove
When we are apart I'm
so sensitive and distraught
Your in my mind every
waking thought
3, 000 reasons holding
us back from our "Someday"
We WILL get there I guarantee
if I have my way!
I need him he's my air or
I will suffocate
HOW much more separation
are we gonna take?
Life is fleeting goes in
the blink of an eye
One day we'll look back
wonder why?
WHY we didn't just say
screw it let's do this!!
Think of all the things
that we've already missed
So frustrating cuz I love you
and you love me
WHY would God bring us
together if it wasn't meant to be?
Haven't I suffered enough
already paid
my freaking dues
Don't need nothing
fancy or expensivd
Just wanna be with YOU
Everyday we're apart is agony
Love to feel your SEXY body laying right next to me
If there was some way
some how
I would do it I would
start RIGHT NOW
We must find a solution
a compromise
HAVE to hold you look in
your beautiful eyes
I know it's a mountain
we must clumb
Everyday treading water
wasting time
What's it gonna take
for you to finally
be all MINE?
Long distance love
Okay what now?
Are we suppose to put our love on hold because of the distance?
Do we hit the pause button,
And resume it when we see each other?
Would that be still called love?
Well our love is not defined by this stupid distance.
I know we probably miss each other more,
Whenever we see a couple hand in hand passing by.
I know winter was the most difficult exam for us.
If I were to make a Wish, I'd wish that You'd be next to me Every time I think of you...
And I know you'd Always be next to me Because you are always on my mind.
See? it wasn't that difficult.
We have wrote the tests.
We now preparing for final exams (festive).
And we will sure pass with flying colors.
We are bigger than the distance between us.
True love
No doubts
No jealousy
And no worries.

How do you do it? How do you see each other?
How could it possibly work? There's so many
questions to ask. You just never belive long
distance love could last. Have you ever tried it?
I know it sounds crazy right? But it's an awesome
thing. It keeps the mystery of love going. The sparks
just keep on flying. Two people may live a distance but
love so closely. Doesn't matter how far you are, as
long as you have the magic in between the distance
isn't really seen.
I'm coming from an empty place
where dreams fall away and walls are built.
The place where questions go unanswered
and silence fills the room.
As I search the words to get me out of this place
they start pouring from your heart.
Tender love kindness gentle smiles
Laughter security warmth patience
Building blocks that piece together this thing call love.
With every teardrop from I miss you
and every time I want to hold you near
Memories are all I have to keep me
since distance has token your place.
I say a prayer over you with faith of blessings and joy waiting for the day you will find me
and I will forever be yours
In Zoom
In Zoom you’re so far away
In Zoom I don’t know what to say
You lower your eyes and shift in your seat
I shudder from my shoulders to my feet
In Zoom the world’s upside down
In Zoom you smile hides your frown
And I wonder if you’re going out tonight
The city lights are shining, so very bright
Then the internet is goes off
Time with you is not enough
Suddenly alone in the gloom
All alone in this empty room.
Next day.
I wait but you just didn’t show
I watch as my insecurities grow
Can’t concentrate till we speak again
Love transforms into a physical pain.
In Zoom the screen is jet black
In Zoom you’re never coming back
In Zoom, my heart was broken online.
In Zoom, the screen becomes a shrine.

I want to touch you, but you’re too late.
We promised one another we would stop speaking.
To make the distance easier.
For months, there was the occasional text exchange.
But that was the extent of it.
At first, I thought of you constantly.
Dreamed of you, thought of you, stared at pictures.
But as time and distance worked against us,
I made the decision to stop waiting around.
Emotionally speaking.
Why was I crying myself to sleep over someone who wouldn’t even compose a text message?
“If they wanted to they would”
Well, I sure wanted to and didn’t so why do I hold you to a different standard.
Perhaps you thought of me too.
Perhaps I kept you up at night.
From your perspective, I haven’t given you a second thought since that oh-so-casual goodbye.
I find myself wishing we’d hugged, kissed, cried, screamed.
But, maybe it’s better this way.
Maybe then I’d have held on for longer.
Now, you’re a somewhat fond memory.
Too fresh to forget the feelings deep in my chest, too far off to remember the bad.
Seeing you now, I can’t decide what the feeling in my chest is.
If I weren’t feeling introspective, I’d say desire and leave it at that.
But I believe it’s something more.
I hope we can speak about it. I hope you feel the same.
Things are always easier that way.
When I'm down
and feeling poor,
I call my mom
she love's me more.
She's always there
through thick and thin,
she never judged me
when I sin.
When I was young
and feeling ill,
she'd find a way
she has that will.
To nurse me back
to health again.
yes my mom
is my best friend.
She's older now
lives far away,
for me my mom
still prays and praise.
She lives up north
and I down south,
and constant prayers
will leave my mouth.
I pray that God
will help my mom,
the winter months
he keeps her warm.
My mom has never
asked too much,
Please heal her with
your loving touch.
All these words
you've seen me rhyme,
I learned from mom
she took the time.
That's my mom
she's there for me,
she gives me love
she keeps me free.
Long Distance Love
tommorrow is never gauranteed
we take for granted time
and all our worthwhile deeds
if i should die before i wake
and the lord my soul does take
i have felt the earthquake
understand my bliss
knoe before i die
that i have never felt so nice
in the spirit of your arms
place where mind was reaching with so much ease,
eyes and hands could never.
