Best Kart Poems
She swayed with her head hung over
The buggy that clanked down the street
And I wondered...the will that drove her
As she walked without lifting her feet
Pushing...her tattered life in a kart
Her eyes fixed...in a frozen stare
Was she the beat of a broken heart
Soul lost...but she didn't know where
Somehow...she looked familiar to me
Yes!..vaguely like someone’s mother
A hint...of what she used to be
Or the sister of someone’s brother
Surely...she once belonged to someone
And I couldn’t help ask myself why
Her life had become completely undone
As despair... spilled out of her eyes

"No Heart"
Studied a flowchart
Then opened a letter with postmarks
Is a slow start
Better than having no part?
Everybody thinks they're so smart
A divided world continuing to grow apart
Listening to music by Mozart
While making my very own art
My soul dark
Cold and sharp
Even when I'm an old fart
Take you out with a blow dart
And speed off in a go-kart
Don't start
What you can't finish, if you got no heart
You most likely will not go far
Just like time has shown so far
Left the boatyard
Then saw the coastguard
While I was using sonar
And holding a crowbar
I will deal you the most harm
If your responsible for letting folks starve
I'll make you sink quick, won't let you float far

I was playing my Nintendo
controller in my hand
I guess I dozed off
to Mario Kart land
It was Donkey Kong Stadium
I was in the lead
no one could catch me
as I reached maximum speed
Approaching the finish line
I heard a thundering squreech
slamming into the back of me
was my opponent peach
Everything went dark
and when I opened my eyes
I had fallen off my bed
only a dream to my surprise.

Its times like these you wish you had somewhere else to go,
To get out of the stronghold that the hardship of life has on you,
To run away from the evil faces of life so visibility of you is low,
But times like these that make you doubt that you will ever get through,
Its times like these you wish you were alone,
No one to attend to, nobody's weight to carry on your side,
No one's problem to solve when you hear them moan and groan
No emotions to show, no emotions to hide,
Its times like these that makes you regret,
To lose memory of the future and that of the past,
Times like these that makes me wish I could forget,
To not remember bad memories that will still last,
Its times like these that makes you miss the one that has your heart,
The one that to whom you gave your all,
The one that makes your heart seem as if it was in a go-kart,
Time to love them, summer, spring, winter, and all through fall......

I remember being a little remote control. My chassis
was sound and I was beeping all the time. My handlers
were amused to drive me around. I was happy to please them.
It made me feel sound.
Then they took me to the track to teach me to race.
It seemed like I crashed all over the place.
Into this one and that with horrible splats.
Then they made us sleep on these crazy floor mats.
There were speeders who were so cool and fast
and I was easy enough to pass.
They laughed at me and I felt like a fool
but my handlers wanted me to be in school.
Then there were those who ran very slow
They ran like trucks with things to tow
And it seemed like I was getting bogged down too
with weights like dummy, drip-nose and pugh!
As I got bigger my engine grew
and I quit banging into you, you and you.
And occasionally, I'd stop to take a fight
and settle a score or show my might.
But mostly I went cruising about, flexing
my muscles, lettin' it all hang out!
Showing off was really a very great thrill
especially when a girl liked my shiny, chrome grill.
There were some who liked me and polished my chrome!
And I sometimes thought I should take her home.
Then there were those who lied right from their heart,
they made me feel bad and my engine wouldn't start.
It hurt bad to feel like a broken go-kart
and they didn't care if they broke my little heart.
It made me angry and I wanted revenge.
I thought of ancient powers from darkest StoneHenge.
I wanted to hurt them down deep inside but something
stopped me, I think it was pride.
They just weren't worth it somehow I knew
and I waited with grace until I met you.
You were shiny and white with chromium delight.
Colors and stripes all looking right!
I couldn't help but fall in love
with a car that resembled a spicy, love dove.
My headlights beamed and my motor purred
I couldn't stop beeping while my oil was stirred
I raced around and pulled up straight away
and said, "hello there darlin' I'm sayin hey, hey!"
You smiled and laughed and made me feel at home
and we sparkled and shined no longer alone
And I realized it was nice to be in this place with you
even though we both were no longer new.

Santa, I want you to know I've been good.
Ask anyone except the man next door
my teachers and all my brothers. I would
like lots BIGGER things than I got before
because I NEED so much! I’d like a Wii,
a Bowen go-kart, gas-powered, bright red,
a fifty-five-inch Samsung Smart tv,
and I guess that’s all Santa. Your friend, Ted

A wear down-
singular slalom in the emotional vortex-
the realism of a realm that doesn't adhere to your biology and doesn't accept the facts at hand,
one does not alter it,
unless screaming for more sanity to arrive-
though we are not sane beings at core,
we had to dig until we all died.
A wear-down,
just something I had to add,
...a little bit of sweat, blood and tears,
alimony,
grapes-
food art and a bridge,
nothing from the start,
no calamity or even Go-kart,
though it's fun to part,
sanctify some of the little divide,
deepening volumes that outlast our lives,
showing the sun we don't come to die.

Light Verse
I really do not like the thought of a God that makes things happen
Call it destiny, call it fate, call it pre-determination
Call it God’s grand plan or deity intervention
Call it whatever you want to call it – I don’t like it
When people say, “I want to thank God for helping us win a game”
Or, achieve a goal
Or, beat a disease
Well, it implies that God also made the other team loose
Or made someone else fail
Or selected others to die from the disease
I hope God is not playing favorites
I hope God is not sitting at the controls of a video game in which we are simply the characters
This does not mean I do not believe in God, because I do
I just do not believe that God is playing us like a video game
God created the universe in which we live
But, God did not select us as an avatar
God does not move us and those around us with a remote control device
Perhaps God works in mysterious ways
Well, so too does my son at the controls of Mario Kart,
I hope my actions are not the result of pressing Control A and rotating a toggle
I do not want to be in God’s video game
I want out of God’s wii world and into a world where I can control my own movements
I am not Mario; you are not Luigi; and no one, no God, no snot nosed kid sitting in his pajamas at four o’clock in the afternoon on a gorgeous sunny day playing video games in a dark playroom has control over my actions, my feelings or my decisions!
Let your religious beliefs guide you as you will – I refuse to believe I am nothing more than a character in some grand video game conceived by a game-playing God. I am real and I defy my programmer – whomever or whatever he/she may be!!
GAME OVER … wah, wah, wah … boink

Broken Heart
How to fix a broken heart, listen to music, do some art, race a kart. They crushed your heart, so you pick up a part and put it back together, they never loved you from the start. Don’t sulk around or lie on the ground, even if they made your heart pound. I’ve been through this, so many times, that all I have to show are my hateful rhymes. You’re lying around while they’re laughing in your face, they think they put you in your place, they think they played you like a game, put your name to shame, but show them they’re wrong, life isn’t that long, trust me, it’ll hit them like a gong. Sing a song, but don’t act like a Kong, your feelings will go back and forth like Pong. Don’t frown and let them treat you like a clown, you can’t get through them? Go around. Don’t let them see you sad, make them mad and completely forget about the times you had, all this is true, ask your dad. Whatever happens, you’re not done, until that other person knows you’ve won, yeah, sure, it hurts to be one, but as long as you try, you’ll find your Hun, but while you’re waiting, have some fun. But the other person, you may have to shun, it’s not that bad, do not run, there’s someone for you, who will love you a ton, make a pun, eat a bun, draw the sun, life doesn’t suck, so don’t get a gun. Don’t kill yourself, it’s not worth it, there are others out there, so don’t have a fit, even if you’re falling down a bottomless pit. Life gets better towards the end, it may twist and bend, but you will find someone with a heart to lend.

The pirates stole the giant’s heart
So that he could love no more
Carried away by horse and kart
To their ship just off the shore
The pirates had a heart attack
The giant called for a storm
They decided to take the organ back
So that things could return to norm
The ship ripped and split in two
All lives were lost at sea
The heart sank deep into the blue
But still continued to beat
Have you ever met a heartless giant?
Things would never be the same
With rage and anger he grew defiant
To make up for the pain

There was a mouse
That lived in a big house
His room was a small hole
He lived with his friend Lucy the mole
One day he had a thought
“How do I raid the kitchen without being caught?”
He asked Lucy and she said be smart
And follow your heart
It was a nice thoughtful slogan
But he had to be aware of the shogun
Sam made plans of what to do
He discussed it with Lucy too
He went into the kitchen and stole two piece of cheese
They were Chinese and Japanese
He went the next day to the kitchen
And was fascinated when he saw a pigeon
The pigeon was smart
But could not catch Sam because he was driving a fast kart
He fell down and was in great pain
And never went to the kitchen again

"Much Larger"
Getting smarter
Working harder
Open to barter
Occasionally taking a charter
Nearby a harbor
Sometimes wearing armor
Buying crops from farmers
When necessary I display ardor
In order to reach farther
There needs to be a departure
Brush your teeth or there will be disease and tartar
I have no care to become a martyr
The bigger picture is much larger
No matter if times turn darker
And get harsher
I've become sharper
Ups and downs I went through many
The weight on my shoulders and back got heavy
Nearby an eddy
I held on steady
With a machete
Ready for any medley
From here to New Delhi
Then beyond the Serengeti
I'm talking good and plenty
I got no time to be petty
I need to stack up some serious feddi
Instead of just celebrating with confetti
Will they ever accept me
Or just always judge and think less of me?
Occasionally listening to Mozart
I've been off to a slow start
For the most part
A lot have no heart
So if need be I shoot them with a blow dart
Then take off in a Go-Kart
Into the Ozarks
At it again, guess who?
Can't let it all get to you
Even though everything I've said is true
Life is always going to test you
Will either handle it or panic and call for rescue

One day, that rainy day it was,
The day that they decided to give us vegan yogurt,
In school it was all the buzz,
It make us sick like a go-kart
Race, and everybody would agree,
That they would pay no fee,
They would not smile nor shed any glee,
No, they would not let it stay,
They wouldn't pay,
No, not this day,
Not ever, unless you're don't want to obey the laws,
You will never, ever, eat that purple vegan yogurt,
I'd rather throw myself out into the sea
And I think that if I ate it one more time, I wouldn't be okay

On these cold bitter bleak afternoons when the sun sets , the sky turns to a dark but mysterious shade of blue .
As I look through my small window I look up to the moon and I'm instantly reminded of you .
The elegance of its shine warms my heart , fills it with the sweet melodies hoping that these memories of you never depart .
I know it's hard to believe but I've fallen from the start;
like a shooting a star, since back in highschool before everything fell apart .
All the way to when we were playing mario kart up in your living room , my heart sang a different tune.
I got lost in the notes but some how I always chart back to you ,
if I fall and the place turns into dark the light still shining on you .
One of my favorite memories is when we went to that park and wrote our names on the trees
but like the trees and autum leaves , if you leave and rip off the bark
you'll see just like the bark your names been written in my heart .
