Premium Member Three Teeth

three incisor teeth burst through fresh flesh...
opaque as pearls, strong as love, precious

beautiful baby babbles assertively
mesmerized by mishmash sounds
that her astounding mouth can make
prose poetry in its practice

as canines erupt, she moans from the ache
teeter-tottering restless to repress pain
speedily advancing in substantial strength
distracted by oblivious destructiveness

a significant stepping stone approaches
as a capable kindergarten adult
she wiggles loose her first baby tooth
receives a rich reward from a fantasy fairy

more teeth disappear like pressed piano keys
then return acutely out of tune
braces displace awkward half grins
an investment of finances and adolescence

unstoppable with seducing sweets
she sneaks cuddly candy under covers
falling asleep with sugar plum dreams
not counting a few costly cavities

free-spirited, experimental teen
meets Christina on the street
samples compelling quartz crystal
returns for seconds, as someone else disguised

mesmerized by mishmash sounds
that her astounding mouth can make
speedily advancing in substantial strength
she lucently levitates to a loftier place

a magnificent mind babbles assertively
sweeping the streets of pixie dust
no need to eat or sleep
like a firefly in heat, she dances frantically

teeter-tottering restless to repress pain
distracted by oblivious destructiveness
she visualizes voices that vivify the way
to the day's salacious survival guide

prismic vision's shimmers no longer satisfy
cotton candy granules' sweetness subsides
coming down from kaleidoscopic clouds
half-awake, she moans from the ache

shrill shrieks portray poetry's unspoken pain
death's drab projection is her heartless reflection
hocking heirlooms to trade for a transient thrill
a despondent inhabitant of tragedy

creepy crawlers invade every inch of skin
her thin figure balances a skull's shadow
irretrievable, ill-treated teeth crumble
like the city's plundered storefront windows

filthy, for granted, forlorn, fast-fading
...three feeble canine teeth remain

Puzzle Stomped

"Puzzle Stomped"

Pieces scattered
placed on a table
with boundaries

between
the incarcerated margins
there are strict conditions

Time drips
its wet connection
each piece a stair fitted

imperfectly
perfect
towards upwards

new mirror reflection
a cracked heart piercing
the tear with savage dedication

behind her veil
the known Morpheus assails
her compromised senses

holding her captured
behind the external view
eyes blindfolded

the blue sashes now let loose
opening green windows to
free the redressed vicissitudes

to undress the crisp breeze of her
monk chanting wake
a new phantom arrives caressing secrets

gambled on a fresh Delius
composing his unfinished symphony
he’s looking for her singular notes

Somewhere,
he stands behind her
sharp as a needle,

cutting tall poppy
each step she takes
towards her freedom gate

In his hands he cups
the hidden
missing piece

The sewing of pages
she continues to bind
in her sleep

along a strong spine
turning and folding stories
uncommon ne'er sublime

their spelt magic
grows majestically spoilt
seeded from a sweet perfume

conducting intoxicating notes
stories flying black-winged
off all the slippery knaves

and wax-sealed pages
like ebony feathers
mummerating starlings

turn into suffocating
dream stealing
king crows smiling maces

She the Smythsewer
laying tenuous imprints
for a new road home

He the myth Beyond
shakes the game board
peace in pieces, a long forgotten song

the chance card thrown
the blanket of romance
thundering over a stormy mind grows

patch worked with glassed-in
jarred ghost bees, the old
puzzle of a story stomped on

He places his feet
firmly between hers
closing in on time

Beyond takes her hand
And sensually whispers
along all her fairest fears

sweeping all pieces off her
tattered story board
fallen irretrievable

forgotten
left lacking
on the harsh floor

Cum dederit
dilectis suis somnum,
Ecce haereditas

to the tune of fate
there is so much more
the words are sewn and sung

the child in time fled
long gone, as if all was pure fantasy
destiny arrives supernaturally too soon

Time for a new story
He says darkly
and swiftly closes

Past’s door.

The Big Guns

"The Big Guns"

A woman goes into war
with the matrimony of
Life and Death
a wound left empty
a gash pushing up
daisies where bleeding
seeds don’t bloom no more

So love puts the big guns
in her hands, bullets loaded
from the mind hell bent
on breaking the walls
caught in the sticky web
of that black lettered Perdition

Naked I came
from my mother’s womb
And naked I shall return
what’s given is taken away
the loss irretrievable
opens a new road home
Gangster all the way

On the run
with the Big Guns
Misery be gone
Love’s a racketeering assassin
cutting losses, risking what remains
on a final heist to be won

“Sometimes Losers
are Winners,” She grinned

“You are holding
the Big Gun”
Hands on the wheel
Silver Lady is driving Blue Sky
his head turned, smiling
towards the burning Sun

An alternative beginning
long way to the end.
First,
Some adventure,
First,
Some Fun.

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Bereft

Priceless pearls scattered as the necklace
Was snapped, ripped away by greedy
Hands, envious of your sublime beauty
And even gentler encouragement. Bounc’d
Every one of them cross cobblestones, cracks,
And down the storm drain irretrievable.
Holding that golden empty promise string
Your fountain of tears so scalded my soul.
Could I but hold you, say comforting words,
I would have. But words are trite when the heart
Is blistered in injustice’s heat.
We gathered what we could, returning
To the Sea, knifing open more oysters
Restringing your dream, one pearl at a time.

Irretrievable

I stroll a silvered landscape
where trees are silhouetted spears,
stabbing memories of days first walked with you . . .
ice traceries, firey strands of longing lace,
wrap the crumbling dream,
like brittle, curling tinsel from childhood holidays.
A burning stream of cold tumbles seaward,
dislodging jagged stones, desire and disgust;
wounding barren feet.

Backward . . .
I trace pink-tinged footprints
along the line of demarcation
where love once gamboled in innocence
before the moon capitulated
and collapsed into the sea.

Lovely she was, but she is no more.

Premium Member Giving Me Hope and Faith

I once was childlike, pure of thought. I tasted and opened my eyes to the world; became flesh. Within myself, I occasionally lose all aspects of life. In doing so, my thoughts diverge from common sense, to irretrievable loss as past happiness. Definite conceptual knowledge of reality and an obedient witness inspired by God's word. Love showed me the purest joy; a yearning thirst willing to attain. Without love in my world, there is no world, but sadness and pain, a non-existing life. Without faith, how do I have hope? Love makes me feel excitement within my frame. The presence of the Holy Spirit, giving me hope and faith. Regaining my sight, seeing the world through the eyes of a child.

through his eyes we are
eternally his children-
he sees our life needs

An Easter Prayer
(Esoteric Meaning of Christmas)

Let not the sun rise so high
that I may never again reach
its light --

nor set so low
that my spirit now resides
in darkness, irretrievable

but let me dwell peacefully,
balanced, in a new body of humanity,
a purified vessel, that of the risen Christ
– live outright redeemed,
one with God and His good
angels,
ever loving.

The Things You Do

Time to let this go
The things you do
The things I know
The things that hurt me too

These years
So many tears

I cannot go on
This battle is never won
For there shouldn't be a war,
between two.....................
This irretrievable flaw

For beauty inside,
takes time to find
Sometimes not at all
I cried
Trying to reach your mind
My heart to fall

This flaw
The heart you tore
The things you show
The things you know

The things you haven't given
I have forgiven
These years
So many tears

Premium Member The Bonfire Burns

A single key
turns the lock
of the door
you’ve been
pushing against
for all
the life in you it takes,
the door like Life breaks
into a million pieces,
and there at your feet
like irretrievable moments scattered,
you try to avoid the splinters,
but you gather them up instead,
each splinter a word lit, now
the bonfire burns

inside the inferno
the life renewed, borne again
wakes, it walks on water,

just,
as it walks through flames,
there the compass

draws you home,
like a magnet
calls the key

Premium Member Irretrievable Love

"You will forget me, the love we once shared
Has vanished in the attempt at disguise
The dreams we once knew cannot be repaired
It's gone with the light that once lit your eyes"

Has vanished in the attempt at disguise.
Ah cruel love, how I still yearn for thee.
It's gone with the light that once lit your eyes,
Now I feel so blind, yet I grieve to see.

Ah cruel love, how I still yearn for thee.
Wretched days are no longer worth living.
Now I feel so blind, yet I grieve to see.
Can I try for once and be forgiving?

Wretched days are no longer worth living.
The dreams we once knew cannot be repaired.
Can I try for once and be forgiving?
You will forget me, the love we once shared.

Savior of Torch Lake

Arms and legs peddling struggling
I tread
In the middle of the lake

There is 300 feet of blue water
Between the soles of my feet
And the 10,000 year old dance floor beneath.

Torch Lake never gives up her dead.

The lake’s bottom is pocked
With springs bursting as jets from Middle Earth
Jumbling boulders like popcorn.

This is where the drowned bodies sink
Irretrievable by dive teams or priests

Those Ojibwa fishermen ripped from their Birch canoes
Loggers clunked dead on their heads
		Great Depression titans
Still stitched to their britches
	Top hats and bow ties
		Pistols clutched to their hands

Wives sunk from hurt and betrayal
	Factory workers snapped in two
A young girl from a rowboat
Caught in a sudden storm
	Clapping for her tossed dog
		She dove in.

I wonder from down there
Where they’re all doing the jig
What I look like to them
Up here?

Another man walking on his knees?

Premium Member Half A Heart

You died, thus half of me died.
My pain is unbearable!
There is nothing anyone can say or do
that can ease my hurt
or bring me a minuscule amount of comfort.
When I close my eyes
I see your face smiling at me.
And it breaks my heart
every time I picture you.
Death severed my heart in half!
And now, I drown in a river of tears
flowing into an ocean of grief.
Clinging to half a heart
I slip into a world of memories and dreams,
desperately trying to escape reality.
What good is half a heart?
And is it worth salvaging
when half of it is missing?
There is no wish or magic elixir
that can bring you back.
My loss is irretrievable!
I'm to live out my remaining years
missing half of my heart.
For, until death reunites us;
I will never feel whole again.

Interludes Experimental

"Interludes Experimental"

Written in clouds
what eyes miss
patterns repeat
in minds
like poets speak

fast and irretrievable
irrelevance misses
the parenthesis
buried in interludes
experimental

in minds
like poets speak

Words and Void

I'm trying to write about something specific for a change.
''I'm bored, and suffocating in a desert
Of dull yearnings that gulp down my stale breath
Full of futile words.''

No. I'm drowning again in absurdity and saying
Nothing. I need something
Specific. Meaningful.
''I'm trying to create meaning on the paper,
Crumpling sheet after sheet, the lost words
Mourning for irretrievable primary
Sensation which once urged me to continue
Writing, rather than crush the pencil that so many times left
No trace at all save for the void forming the words -
			Long since gone...''

I start afresh, this time without superfluous evocations.
Nothing. Makes. Sense. It doesn't have to.
The present. Is. Dark. There will be a better tomorrow.
Not sure. If I'll be. You know you will.
I'm alone. With my words. You'll always be.

Words don't make sense when thoughts wait for their permission.
Can I think about something specific for a change?
There are not enough words.
They disappear. When you think. About yourself.

Im Lost In Love Without Your Heart To Show the Way

Without your friendship I have gone astray

I'm lost in love without your heart to show the way

Roaming around I watched adulation turn dire

Looking for you brings wayward desire

Searching all day forfeiting devoutness

You are absent and I find fondness

I missed you at a turn and found devotion

Adrift from you and I noticed emotion

I skipped my chances and saw a yearning

Took the long road and witnessed passion burning

Scanning the sky I detected a crush

Hidden from you I saw tenderness blush

Invisible to you I gazed at delight

Irretrievable affection is out of sight

I glimpsed at fidelity while it was at sea

Disappeared respect is absent in me

Without your friendship I have gone astray

I'm lost in love without your heart to show the way
