POPPIES & MUSHROOMS

I desire a beautiful sky.
One to inhale with my big brown eyes.
Fly like a kite,
under the midday light.
Join me in this lollipop fight.
Till we say Goodnight.

Let's sit on the floor Indian style.
Passing around the same smile.
Holding each other by the wing.
As we take a puff and sing,
a song about: Poppies and Mushrooms,
Lets hold hands and enjoy the fumes.

I rub my bare body with poison ivy.
A poisonous Vera, deep aloe skin deep
I enjoy the penetration under my earthly skin.
With the goodness of a sneeze that feels like a sin.
With Poppies and Mushrooms,
my hair I groom.
An inviolate flight on acid.
Skinny dipping in the calmness placid.

I want to touch that elephant in the sky.
Before the illusion vanishes before my eyes.
Pink clouds and fluffy marshmallows.
Purple kittens and rainbow shadows.

Liquid bamboo, and poppies too.
Cocoa mushrooms, to get rid of the flu.
Poppies and Mushrooms, in a jungle beat.
Down my legs, like a dog in rut.
Poppies and mushrooms, and a giant balloon.
Pop one for me, and act like a baboon.
Walk with me across this gingerbread bridge.
Let's use up all the cake in the fridge.

Graffiti and skittles,
While I sing "Hey Diddle Diddle."
Lets follow the unicorn, with green feet.
Poppies and Mushrooms ever so sweet.
Here Kitty Kitty, feel my heart pulse.
Hear me meow and tweet tweet tweet.
Kool-Aid and Hawaiian punch for lunch.
How about some orange Captain Crunch.

Poppies and Mushrooms, from the sky I fell.
Footsteps down the yellow belly tripping trail.
Skip to my Lou, it's time to swallow another pink pill.
And sing me this song, where all these illusions are real.

Premium Member Wild Mountain Honey

Old Mountain tales of love spin
     'neath dawn's blush,
Elderberries, purple ink drop pearls
     drawing me nigh.
Ah! Her laughter just like a honeybee’s dance
     in the summer’s rush.

For you ignite my days with passion,
'tis morn, a tear I cry
The calm, twilight lingers as her words
     soft and low
In the caress of wildflowers where life’s
     tranquility forever grows.

O'! Upon thy lips such sweetness dwells
     Must be God's design
Born where dandelions and wild bees
     forever intertwine.
O', nectar kissed by sun untouched by
     human hands
An arcadian panorama of ambrosia
     upon my senses' land.

Thine gaze is my beacon in the
     moonlit’s silvery velvet light.
You my guiding star ignites
     for all my spirit’s journey
     O' my soul’s delight
For as a life-alchemists seek nectar
     deep in the mountain’s heart.

Thy love's an enchanting lore where peace
     like nestling lark.
All the sages sighs, thymes' tempting lore
     a beautiful pure chorus
Heather fills rolling landscapes
     an untold story before us.

Yes, my love's confession takes flight
     with wild abandon
In the sanctuary, a haven bathed
     in golden dawn
Thy touch is a sacred psalm
     a sonnet on the wind
Radiant grace, I scribe my song
     on every blossom's stem
Sunlight filters through sylvan green leaves
    just for you.
Thy smile, a warmth that sees my spirit
     through and through.
Our love, eternal, untamed by
     fleeting space or time.

A taste of heaven's dew
a love of purest and most divine.
Together, hand in hand
we'll stray through life's inviolate maze
Where wildflowers bloom
      and hearts forever graze.

No jeweled crown
      arrayed in silks and finery
Could display the love, my beloved
     I found forever in thee.

For You are my sweet lady,
     my songbird
     my forever home
My wild mountain honey
     where my spirit roams.

In thee, a love unbound
     sweeter than sun-kissed dew
My Wild Mountain Honey
     forever wild
          forever true.

Winter Journey End

WINTER JOURNEY’S END

Their calculations must have been at fault
Their instruments in need to calibrate
That wandering star’s location in the vault
Had seemed a compass true, inviolate

The auguries had all concurred to say
Event of moment in the cosmic scheme
To change the world forever come what may
Would come to pass; they’d seen it all in dream

Yet here they found themselves upon that night
Within a byre with beasts and men unblest
To witness scene both rude and recondite
The focus and the end point of their quest:

Young mother - fate to suffer, heart to bleed
Child God incarnate, laid in cattle feed

Black Dog Barks

"Black Dog Barks"

I feed the beast pieces of my heart
Black Dog Barks
prowling inside my parametres silky soft paws

Black Dog Barks
I feed the Jabberwock pieces of my mind
this is how it begins torn and bloody

I feed the Jabberwock pieces of my mind
the mirror smiles back and says, gracefully
“You’re fine”

The mirror smiles back and says, malevolently
“I own you now, you’re all mine”
Black Dog Barks

Prowling inside my parametres silky soft paws
this is how it begins bloody and torn
“You’re fine”

This is how it begins bloody and torn
murders all inside, revelry unholy
I smile and walk out into the cold Sunshine

Black Dog Barks
“It’s quantitative”
Science looking for signs

reflection of stars
sparkling irises silver violet
wrapped in a cutting sea of ebony

walking barefeet on glass inviolate
dodging sharp teeth and fins
the mind bleeds fast

Black Dog Barks

Iris.
The colored part of the eye which helps regulate the amount of light entering the eye. When there is bright light, the iris closes the pupil to let in less light. And when there is low light, the iris opens up the pupil to let in more light.

Glytch, Itch, Witch, Switch, Twitch

Sometimes I muse that life can be a *itch
When every prospect seems of rosy hue
From cerulean sky a fatal glitch
Precipitates its mischief; then I rue
That naive expectation of a child
On whom Dame fortune yet has only smiled

Then something in my skin begins to itch
In parts inviolate to ease of scratch
And paranoia whispers: “‘tis the Witch
Who cast her evil influence, to hatch
Black parasites that burrow in my brain
Contaminate all thought, implant a bane”

Should this dark image linger unrelieved
Or might a metaphorical light switch
Restore a life where hope may be conceived
So cradled safe and calm, with ne’er a twitch
Neath skies with butterflies where bluebirds sing
Believe that? Chance you’ll believe - anything

Theorem of Unity

From single drop of dew guillotined on light
The blood flowed leaving the day white
Above world of red rage of racial rituals,
Orange mellow of satisfaction sought.
Yellow roses say angers end is admissable
Blues change to country songs, blue
Surf whispering on the lips green waves breaking
On an indigo morning of the inviolate eye.

From God's light outpoured
The colors of all his children
Singing the multiplicity of races in heaven
The choir of redemption
Balming the blind blunders of egos wrongs
And I had wanted to tell you along
How my patience pine at your lips
To hear you speak uninterrupted and respected
By a man needing you for more than desire

Soon we holding hands so away from the surfs cold tongue
Suckimg the salt sands under our friendly feet
Our bodies naked as a flag, and I untented
Before the majestic honesty of love
Build the alternative to the heart's
Confrontation of rock and tides.
I saw the spray scattered in silver light
The prism broken like an egg
The spectra of colors shedding evidence
Our beginning was from a common tree
Black and white keys singing in harmony.

Desensitizing me—destroying my delusion.
Snapping sight of the kaleidoscopic illusion.
Delving into eternity of utopian ecstasy
Shimmering in an ethereal golden fantasy

Drifting inwards—yielding inner space.
Flamboyant with a nectarous embrace
Playing an intricate oboe of tenderness.
Drumming along to the tune of gentleness

Invigorating my soul—infusing my barren cup
Embraced me wholeheartedly the wassail up.
Sitting on grass, smelling delicious lavender.
Gulped divine ambrosia, wild or scavenger

Syncing wires up to my celestial essence
A haven where my bosom can quiescence
A tranquil haven where my spirit can soar.
A tranquil haven that my heart can't deplore.

A sanctuary where my soul can find peace.
Somewhere, my soul may relax and release.
Nothing can be concealed in my quiet spirit.
The whole day, one can both sense and hear it.

15 of them begin the emotional ritual attired in silk & sequens,
they maneuver miraculously one after another on burning coals glowing violet,
the dance steps are heartbeats, curved & compassionate, their majesty is inviolate,
their Art is to suffer for Hope wrought from the ribbon of Reality's casualties,
fifteen to infinity the ladies become shooting stars
lazered through a constellation collapsing into a single sphere of suspense,
the crowd claps, cymbals chyme and a sorcerer's symbols
rain in a fury of subconscious superstorm, confusing chaos
and charming candor as relics vouchsafed in this cosmic cavern,
the Eye of Providence appears annonymously, winking with Blessings
on the forehead of a girl crooning for Roman gifts of iron roses & opium doses
as she poses prettily on top of the Arch of the Covenant
where angels scorch alms and demons dine on delirium,
a flame spitter and sword swallower run to the forefront
as the music deepens within the skulls of saints,
they confront each other with pride, mortal misgivings alight in their eyes,
a contest between Altruism & Misanthropy,
which will prevail, fire or steel, which to survive, love or hate,
one gets stabbed, the other burned, wagers wave through the theater,
lots of chatter, banter & bravado, the wounded continue with character,
Innocence tries to exit but is not allowed by Wherewithal
as the two forces seem to be fatally struck
a curtain closes ceremoniously and all that remains,
endangered enlightenment echoes, and echoes like thunder
while a beautiful candle glows, not yet bent or spent
and everyone in attendance calms and knows,
in absence of love, nothing but misery can be achieved -

THE POET MEETS THE JOURNO

All right, so I introduced you to each other,
She, sotto voce, with sweet piercing alter
Ego and intransigent integral and inviolate
Laws, you with your collection of newspaper
Cuttings of riots, strikes, and the dialectical
Alternative: mottled eyes and the poor man’s pudding
Of truth, flavoured with salt fish loneliness.

In the dim furls of the watchman’s banner
The night was just ending, so go to it -
Discern why I separately loved you.
As I make my way home by myself,
The pure gold of my honourable gesture
Will shine like an Indian summer on a child,
Be meditation for your spirit on our silent spring.

Missed

"Missed"

if you wanted me
to write about
rainbows and unicorns,
I would have to say
romance was never
on the menu of
the grinning soul,
in the days
when war came.

lines drawn in sand, see,
grains easily blow away,
to reveal what of strength,
hard and cracked, yet so
tangible survives underneath
it all, firmly remains.

the thistle with
its royal violet inviolate crown,
its thorns like swords,
persistent, makes its way
to what little light
endures, holds out,
shoots its way through
the fallout clouds.

it blooms
like a revolution.
never changes its
regiment colour.

beauty in survival
allays arid memories
and relishes the rain
to grow new life;

and like a thistle
the petals will-o-wisp
like a halo up into
the sky, far away,

but the roots
remain fixed
strong and
militarily resilient,
day after day.

romance comes
in the flurry of snow
falling on an
upturned face,
faith in something
of grace, offers
a smile that sings
still life doesn't exist here,
tongue outstretched
sensually tasting
a poisonous life
remembering
the last naked
tryst and how
one survived
the assassin’s kiss,
though the shooter
didn’t fare that well.

the shooter
perhaps loved
the target,

too much.

the target saw
the transparency,
reality of truth,

a subtle softness
pouring out
in the bleed, could win

through
the atomic

missed.

(LadyLabyrinth / 2022)

“This is what comes of military training”, she said, ”born and bred from military - both air and land forces - one becomes habitually practiced and intuitively alert to the enemy's position. Strategically, one is always lethally equipped, both psychologically and physically, in surviving wars on the mortal plane. Particularly, much later in the singularity wars, for a neural neophyte piloting those missions of slippery inter-dimension”.

In the days to follow, this quality in her would stand her well, in both dark and light fields, contradictory yet complimentary, the two warring co-ordinates of the Cross Field in the new domain. It was the place of the in-between worlds, where her mission would be implanted and eventually executed, expeditiously and with great success. Much to her detriment.

Winter

"WINTER"

the beautiful season
of suspension
where we find
our true selves

hibernating

under sacred blankets
of wisdom won
dreaming of all
the days past, gone

in the never complete

and we dream
in songs
of the other life
approaching

beautiful,
inviolate,
lilting pure,
lighter, pristine,

more truer
than true

than the heavy
coloured cloaks
covering lost victories
in the dedicated Obscure

never wrong
never won

“O light! This is the cry
of all the characters
 of ancient drama
brought face to face
with their fate.

This last resort
was ours, too,
and I knew it now.

In the middle of winter
I at last discovered
that there was in me
an invincible summer.”
(Albert Camus, L’été)

“A poet is a blind optimist.
The world is against him
for many reasons.
But the poet persists.
He believes
that he is on the right track,
no matter what
any of his fellow men say.
In his eternal search for truth,
the poet is alone.
He tries to be timeless
in a society built on time.”
(Kerouac)

"For small creatures
such as we,
the vastness
is bearable
only through
love."
(Carl Sagan)

“There are things known
and there are things unknown,
and in between
are the doors of perception.”

Not On This Earth

If you could grant every wish I ever made
And vanquish all that’s turned me afraid,
I could not love you more.

If you could wipe clean my slate of errors
And take from innocents countless terrors,
I could not love you more.

If you could end the savage wages of war
And staunch the flood of blood and gore,
I could not love you more.

If you could reform holders of public trust
And terminate their power and money lust,
I could not love you more.

If you could hold politicians to their claims
And put on display their self-serving games,
I could not love you more.

If you could get Congress to reform taxes
And the very earth should wobble off its axis,
I could not love you more.

My love for you is on free, inviolate ground.
Not of this earth, dear, can its like be found.

"my Sister My Friend"

Our shared and separate memories.
Our love for one another.
Secure in mind and heart.
Long remembered joys.
Never forgotten dreams.
Hurts,hopes,smiles and tears.
We took them to extremes.
I love you now and then.
For the elder child that resides with-in.
The wonderous and marvelous you.
Inviolate and sacred our bond will ever be.
The line of life that runs through you.
Will come running straight back to me.
         Wrote by Lisa
My baby sister wrote these loving words
and sent them to me in a poem I will cherish this.

Premium Member The Corncrake

From deep within encroaching night, there sounds
a solitary corncrake in the gloom.
His rasping never ending call surrounds
and echoes far beneath a cloudy moon.
A very private bird, he still must tell
the world at large of how he seeks a mate
to woo and win and then with her to dwell
in this his covert place inviolate.
Flag irises bloom in June out in the west.
The machair colours the Atlantic shores.
It’s here the corncrakes choose to build their nest,
but she alone her tiny brood ensures,
and sees them grow and ready to take wing,
for her sweet mate has gone philandering
and yet again, before the summer's through,
he’ll call to seek a new love to pursue.
Such is the way with corncrakes.
