==================================
The widow, dressed in glossy black,
glides from the shadows at the back.
A veil lies slack across her face
to mask the grief her features lack.

Possessed of an insectile grace,
she sidles to the open case
and like the reptile smile she bares,
this too, serves to defile the place.

Since jealousy insures she cares
less for his death than for her shares,
obsession next finds her engrossed
in leaving with the gold he wears.

A parasite, she'll man her post
and feed from this depleted host
'til she believes she's bled the most
she can from his departed ghost.

Under Moldy Soil, Red Moon Overhead

Under moldy soil, red moon overhead
lay millions of corpses, wars wasted dead
No bands playing, no sweet angels singing
only ghostly echoes, slowly ringing.

Cools winds blowing across such resting grounds
on dark nights, ghost-whispers its only sounds
Low moans, raging regrets of battle cries
rebukes of those that sold such deadly lies.

Sixth of June, sands give up soft wailing pleas
from beach desert devoid of any trees
Earth laced with spent cartridges , red blood and lead
painful memories, of that war's lost dead.

Under moldy soil, red moon overhead
how we may wish that peace had ruled instead.

Old Note- War is a necessary evil because mankind needs blood letting to soothe its savage soul.
And thus, is far too often a necessary reaction that insures the survival for the party that is first attacked.

New Notes-
1. SLIGHTLY EDITED TODAY TO MEET TEN SYLLABLE COUNT ONLY.
2. Mankind can not give up making war until it can purge ALL evil from its mortal soul!
Only one way to do that exists..
3. I want to thank the poet that suggested that I go ahead and share this poem from my private writes.
As it deserves to be read, I now agree with you my good friend..

The Call

Oh, who do you call,
My beautiful one?

Rising in iridescent splendor
In the dark side of light against the creeping dawn.

A mourning cry to follow ere the heat of day,
Dries up the velvet feathered throats of longing.

A reddened eye of patience waits and watches;
Awash in tall grass, brown eyes blink
Then more as fear leaps to flight in graceful bounds.

But a muscular coat of dusty fur and the ruby spray of death
Insures another day of life and an all too ready hunger.

Oktoberfest - Munich Madness

Welcome! everybody now
Europeans, Italians and otherwise

Wild birds all set to crow
Intent on pretzels and gnocchi
Liters of beer and wine prevail
Local foods will make you drool

Party-goers in the groove gear up
Arriving with cheers - Huzza!
Returning guests and those on tour
Teetotalers too we will admit
You are welcome; come and stay

Lederhosen and dirndls, dress apparel
Initial parade complete with confetti
Kicks off the breweries' lark
Every first Sunday, a costume parade

Trendy tents offer entertainment
Historic foods, mostly deutsch
Even children enjoy rides and flume
Reservations you will prefer
Early evening tents may close
Should safety cause concerns

No first-timer can turn down
Ox on a spit and all things potato

Thrills last for more than a fortnight
Oompah music always crescendo
Munich Madness - groups perform
Oktoberfest yodeling, give it a go
Regulation insures your beer -
Real German malt lager
Official toast, “O'zapft is!” - Cheerio!
We will party like there’s no tomorrow

White Goat

White Goat

If you’re in an office where the budget is tight
And there’s no toilet paper anywhere in your sight
But you still have to go – now what will you do
Sit back and relax I’ve a solution for you
It’s called the “White Goat” and it’s made in Japan
And it insures that you’ll always have paper at hand
You feed 40 sheets of any paper you find
Into the machine, several pages a time
Thirty minutes or less and a roll will appear
Perfectly made for the use on your rear
The machine shreds to paper and water dissolves it
Its thinned out and dried into rolls and you’ve solved it
Each roll costs only nine or ten yen
If you’re in the US that is 10 cents my friend
The company claims that with regular use
Sixty trees will be saved from the axe man’s abuse
But here is the catch, the White Goat ain’t cheap
One hundred thousand which may be too steep
It is cheaper by far if when you leave your home
You pack toilet paper to use as your own

Strikingly Naked
                By Odin Roark

Voicing the reflection one sees insures
the facade really is,
was,
must have been.

Time passes…

How smoky the reflection,
this aging identity of accumulated distortion,
where once perception played innocently,
found disguises to hide behind,
who now past the age of innocence,
sees the exposed abyss of shadowed deceptions.

Such awareness knows well the mirror,
where cognizance of the make-believe
beckons the right light,
the flattering shade,
the required eye-sparkle of denial,
no matter the reality.

At some point…

Behind the rehearsed and performed persona,
we raise the inner window
revealing the self-of-fact,
that place where we gulp
what air is left,
sucking up any reserved willingness
blowing in from subterranean shores
to help beat back our self-imposed exile.

One surges forward…

Pulls open the only door
the entrance we feared opening,
an opening your inner monologue
always whispered was there
but you chose to remain imprisoned
by the mirror.

Revelation…

The door now open,
leads to other doors,
so small they seem
as you bend, crawl,
find other rooms,
windowless cubbyholes,
where night sweats
and endless reprieves
once kept you breathing,
albeit your own recycled dead air.

How rewarding…

To see for the first time,
your own recidivist delusions
reverberating like shattered emulations,
blinding your eyes with its refractive light,
burning through regrettable behavior imprisoned,
where no steel bars were ever necessary,
where a place of truth awaited,
a wilderness you are finally ready to explore.

Such is the manifest moment…

When you couldn't be so strikingly naked,
had you not kept yourself so carefully dressed
all those years.

Brand Loyalty

The toothpaste that I use is Crest.
I cannot tell if Crest is best;
But it’s the brand I’ve always used.
A change would get my teeth confused.

For laundry, what I buy is All;
A prior brand I can’t recall.
My clothes get clean; I like the smell.
A switch would not serve quite as well.

My ketchup’s Heinz, my dressing’s Ken’s.
Purdue’s the brand I like for hens.
My soap is Yardley; Listerine
Is what insures my breath is clean.

What advertisers understand
Is how much power they command;
But customers they love to see
Are loyal sticklers, just like me!

The End of K-I-Smet

No person ever has less value than when they seek to exalt themselves at the
expense of another’s stature. You do not raise yourself by putting another down.

Do cabals and conspiracies exist? The fact so much is conjectured, and written
about this subject insures its veracity. What man can conceive man will try to
achieve.

When it is you’re vice…it is personal choice.

WE ARE GENERALLY SO LOST IN WHAT WE DO; WE CONFUSE IT WITH WHAT WE
ARE, AND FAIL TO SEE WHAT WE CAN BE.

IT SHOULD NEVER BE THE VEHICLE WHICH HAS STATUS…IT SHOULD BE THE DRIVER.

He is “the man”, he has a plan, don’t interfere, the road is clear. Follow the way and
watch what you say…experience the glory of the promised day.

Those who profit they do not die, they cover their greed with another lie.

Wealth, power, and possessions, these and only these are the fuel of war.

War is not about right or wrong. Rather it is about good and evil. No that is wrong,
it is only about evil.

A GOVERNMENT WITH A PERCENTAGE OF ITS POPULATION DISENFRANCHISED…HAS
NO RIGHT TELLING OTHERS HOW THEY SHOULD RULE.

Never quit, for when you quit you are dead, still walking around maybe, however
still dead.

Tomorrow is not ours it belongs to others, cherish today like jealous lovers.

Your word so complex, powerful, defining, for when you give your word you give
your verbal representation of who you claim to be…if your word is no good…you are
no good.

You cannot nurture your Mother the Earth. What a surprise your children you hurt.
Other people why bother to try…the bottom line it’s all about I.

I can tint my hair and tuck my face. Deny the time I joined the human race. I can
even adopt a youthful pace, why not hide that I am a glutton just use a little artful
lipo suction. Oh but surely as I come face the fire; I cannot escape because I’m a liar.

My God is the God of love, peace, and values of the highest order, and I will kill you
to make you believe it…because I love you.

They say he came and lifted our terrible load. Then he opened the gates to a
glorious road. Well I’ll give him this he sure weren’t lazy; however to do that for
man…he must have been crazy.

Teachers

Teacher tell us what they know,
Encouraging us to grow,
Asking questions, giving solutions,
Can make us go in the right direction,
Helping us to find our aim,
Expecting us to build our own fame,
Recognizing wrong and right,
Securing our future making it bright.

At the end of the school,
We all are cool,
There is only beach and sun,
We really have fun,
But never forget that the teacher is one,
Who insures that we always won.

Poem: Spiritual Upgrade

Something great is happening for me,
regardless of the situations I see;
my Lord is working behind the scene
and I have been spiritually weaned.

Walking by faith and not by sight,
insures that I sleep well at night.
Happily I enter daily into His rest,
knowing that I’m divinely blessed.

I’m often filled with peace and joy,
when sacred Scriptures are employed;
with a heart of a believer’s trust,
I overcome the pain of being concussed

in all aspects of my humble existence.
Despite hardship, I’m going the distance.
Elevating faith with a spiritual upgrade,
I pray with confidence- having been swayed

by the absolute Truth of God’s holy Word.
With a poetic voice, my soul is spurred
to write Christian verses unto my Lord,
as His strength, from my spirit is poured.

The Soldier

He chose to take this profession because it was in his heart.
He knew the day would come when all he loved, he would soon part.
As he trains for his great mission, he still hears the chants ringing in his head
Remembering the protesters and their right to say what they said.
He smiles for a brief second, 'cause thats really all he's got
"Do they actually know how blessed they are?" he shurgs, "probably not."
They have the wrong impression, for it's them he is training for.
Along with our country, oh, but there is so much more...
There are others who long to be in this place we so causually call home.
They swim shark infested oceans or die of thirst in the desert alone.
There are children who will never know what clean water is to drink.
Yet, we swim in water cleaner and don't even stop to think.
Women who are tortured because they dare to show their face.
And we go without makeup and think we're a disgrace.
As a kid we would hate to get up so early to go to school.
Never thinking about children half a world away, where learning is forbidden by their
rule.
The Father who cries silent tears for he feels as a man his honor is gone.
Praying for someone to help his people take back what was once their home.
Across the world is a soldier, who somehow feels his prayers.
He vows silently to come and help them get back what is rightfully theirs.
He knows the people are scared, their will has been surpressed.
But, the soldier and his allies are training and their determination will not rest.
Yet, still somewhere out there the chants still go.
They rant and rave over something they don't even know.
For it is not them who felt the prayers of a man half a world away.
Nor is it them who insures they have the freedom to chant another day.
It is the Soldier and the others who will go and make the wrongs right.
For his country, the world and humanity in our honor he will fight!

Premium Member Laurels of a Certain Win

To expect sure defeat insures a ravaged heart
Returns without the laurels of a certain win
Dampening one's ardor from a challenging start,
Perhaps, it was better this race not to begin.

Enter each endeavor with the will to finish
First among many equals, better than them all,
Never for a moment let your strength diminish
Before a beginning whistle stand straight and tall.

Never let a weakness your competition see
It builds barriers you find difficult to check,
Consider subtle doubt your fiercest enemy
Picture the winning gold medals around your neck.

Engage confidence, never let it run amuck
For winning a race is always far more than luck.
