Take Time

Take time to show
The people around you that you care
Time is an unpredictable force
When you turn around there’s no one there.

Take time to hear
Each story from the past
Handed down through generations
They must be shared in order to last.

Take time to see
The stranger standing next to you
A friend wears many faces
Only prejudice blocks the view.

Take time to listen
To what your child has to say
The clock is ticking swiftly
Tomorrow they’ll be going their own way.

Take time to ponder
The path you have followed through the years
Your mistakes became your teacher
As your courage was born from your fears.

Take time to feel
The cool grass beneath your bare feet
Life is a precious gift
Each day is a momentous treat.

Words of wisdom in this poem, this write should be introduced into higher education as a foundation for respect, common sense, pride, self value. If 12 - 18 year old's read this, just maybe The Streets would be a tad more welcome to walk at all hours. This awesome write is heading to my favs>>James

Wonderful write here Deborah ... full of lots of truths which are often hard to remember in the fast food, fast cars, fast this and fast that world we live in. Beautifully done and a very well-deserved selection to be a feature this week at the Soup! Congratulations!

It is no less than a shame that this inspiring poem ran through the Conveyor belt and not one person had the pleasure of reading it until now - I feel truly blessed - Sorry to disappoint the kids but no I'm not him - I thank you for your comments - God Bless you and your children
