The Nectars of Love

The Nectars of Love

Let your love fall, that I may wallow
Let your tears drip of inner essence
Entranced by the nectar I swallow
As I engulf and taste your presence
***
Let your beating heart keep company
The emptiness that entraps my being
I’m a string vibrating in your symphony
Forever echoing festal forever freeing
***
Intoxicated by your juices made wine
For the gods pour down their nectar
Indulging in grapes of the orchid vine
Seducing our souls a haunting specter
***
The nectars of your love are ingested
And the fluids of my heart arrested.

Rejected

12/21/19

Not going to pretend it
I've been feeling rejected
And disrespected
Nothing I said and did
Was effective
Time I take a sedative
Or maybe 10 of them

Was fine one minute then out the next second
THC, pharmaceuticals and alcohol ingested
For the pain, but it doesn't end it
Until it all really sets in
And I'm in another dimension
Where there's no depression
I guess it's
Kind of like a respite
But then reality sets in

Continually tested
And tempted
Many nights I never rested
I've been disoriented
Don't know what direction I'm headed
But I shall not be bested
Or subjected
To anything wretched

I got to be intrepid
Getting wiser and improving methods
So there won't be no crash or wreckage

According to legends
And first hand accounts from veterans
I don't think you get the message

They talk of being destined
And how it can be manifested
Getting closer to the exit
One day it all will have ended
Whether or not, it was unexpected

Might not make it to being old and decrepit
And just may die alone, with no friendships

My nephew dyslexic
And this girl I know, is anorexic
In a world so hectic
It'll break you down, if you let it
Turning into something unpleasant
Whether your an adult or adolescent

No longer very majestic
It's becoming pathetic
I'm tired of being authentic and poetic
As well as what trended
And is recommended
Regardless, they're never going to give credit
Later on or in the present

The Beauty of Yore

The memory still lingers,
Of the times, we ingested this scenery.
The solace of the water
Brushing the distant horizon.
Reminds me of the time,
I spent with you...laughing and crying.

Beneath the sun and moon,
Where the canvas sky painted,
Many inspiring sunsets,
In a sequential series of beauty.

This place still touches my stomach
In a special way like you did,
and I wish you were here,
To reminisce those days with me.

But the photo remains,
As a souvenir of the best times of my life.
Our impressions have cast their mark,
On that very spot where we once stood
And you took my breath away...

Premium Member Ant Sense

When I was a young child I studied ants
I loved their formation on ground and plants.
Like tiny soldiers lined, disciplined well,
They worked hard all day, from what I could tell.

Their strength was awesome, things they could carry,
Never wasting time, all day they'd tarry.
One time as I watched two lines in a row
In opposite directions they did go.

Then as I watched them, like a friend of mine,
Two friends stopped to chat then returned in line.
Ant's personalities, unique to see....
How akin these small creatures are to me.

I love their work ethic in an ant farm....
A splended tool to teach kids not to harm.
They work together harmoniously
And will protect their nest defensively.

Please teach your children the value they give.
Not to destroy their nests, please let them live.
They work to keep other insects at bay
And help till the soil in their special way.

I know households do disdainfully reject,
Yet these small insects gain my full respect.
They have survived millions of years on earth.
There-in lies their beauty, proving their worth!

Insects Poetry Contest~First Place~ in a winning list of seven

Note: Ants are eusocial insects of the family Formicidae and, along with the related wasps and bees, belong to the order Hymenoptera.

Ants evolved from wasp-like ancestors in the Cretaceous period, about 140 million years ago, and diversified after the rise of flowering plants.

It has come to light according to a new study, that ants  produce their own antibiotics to deal with diseases that can be used to treat humans as well.

Ants do a lot for us and the environment in general. A single
large colonel of ants will pick up and or kill 100,000 other insects a day for food. So they're the pest control themselves of the insect kingdom. Many species of ants have a mutual relationship with plants that the ants may benefit from in some way. Over 12,000 species of ants have been scientifically identified. Ants are known to be a good source of protein and ingested in several countries.

The Hummingbird Cake

"The Hummingbird Cake"

The day started bright -

Bright Eggshell Blue
and ended in percussion
dark and cloudy stormed in
thunder pummelled drums
against a backdrop of
bruised eggshell dijon yellow
sweating heavy sage green
spitting spoilt the swollen pride of purple,
a wet abrasion against
Electric Blue
crackling along her lips
like Lightening

Sizzled on
her bitumen

her mind
winked at you...

Splits two
into one
not three

Taken slowly
deliberately
cake digested
swallowed like swallows
nibbling freely on air
a symphony of do you see me
in a Hummingbird storm

stairs to you she stares
upwards forever upwards
at lines of ebony tied tight
words kick and spit
like a cat in heat caught up
in a hessian sack
words in a puzzle
shaken and caste
on a playing board
pure white
not black

She,
Third person,
always Third person,
listens to her own heart
and then listens to the
words you have put on
and slowly worn warm

Revisits in her evening
a conversation with an old friend
Lorikeets on the balcony
Passionfruit cake and their
beaks in honey
a day in the life of Mosman
Carmen the dancer
Blueberries and
Raspberry Banana Bread
and Gold Crested
Pterodactyl Cockatoos
commandeering her kitchen
her gangster lovers
dead ends and loose screws

The day started bright blue
Ended in a thunder clap
boiling over onto a glowing hotplate
of flying embers,
reckless kisses and an unplanned

Storm;

A piece of Hummingbird Cake
was fed through a thread

In dreams while you watched
a movie in bed

Spoken to you
through
mind cerebral
not Reality read

Poppyseed and Honey
Bees buzzing on swollen
unheard lips

that silently bled Red

Words
Meanings

Life
Read
Red

Sugar ingested,
Honey to Blue Horse Flies.

Australiana
Fed.

Sleep,
Bed.

Sad Tad

Way down yonder, beyond the barn,
In that soggy, muddy old bog,
In a small and crowded, murky pool,
Lived gloomy Tad, the pollywog.

One of the things that made young Tad
Resentful and unhappy,
Was the very simple fact that he
Looked nothing like his pappy.

And, you know, he also didn't look
A great deal like his mamma.
What this pollywog resembled most
Was a chubby, little comma.

And the safest place--to say the least--
Was not that shrinking pool,
Where one well might be ingested
By some poor misguided fool.

Then one day Tad got so fed up
With his principal place of abode,
That he grew some legs, left the pond,
And became a happy toad.

4 Walls

If these four walls could talk they would say..
I'm so sorry that I'm driving you crazy today
there's so much on my chest, I've much to convey
And no one will believe you if you repeat this any way

Leaving is futile, I've locked the door
Stop screaming and crying, don't wanna hear it any more
Help yourself to some popcorn, I promise I won't be a bore
You'll find that recliner to be more comfy than wallowing on the floor

But...as you wish...floor could use a good buffing, but I digress
That's chalk residue beneath you, and it outlined a macabre mess
I've developed 5 more cracks just this morning, I just can't handle the stress
I've...witnessed a murder, and to this I must confess

There is a back story to this, and this room is the center of the tale,
Host to many extravagant galas, known for entertaining on a grand scale
The most extravagant to do, was just for two, Saturday date night, held without fail
They supped sumptuous steaks, sipped bubbly ale, and read each other like braille

But the only thing they read that last night was the riot act
Accusations of infidelities loosely based on fact
Text messages, instant messages, emails hacked
He was tired of the Saturday night charade, and soon his bags would be packed

You're going to regret using me like a pawn she said
Saturday night special aimed at his head
Then she mouthed that pistol, and ingested it's lead
Their last night spent together in this room, laying there dead

That wall over there was painted a darker blue because it had the biggest splatter
Somebody really needs to replace the window in that other wall, the first bullet made it shatter
Gee I feel so much better now, actually looking forward to new owners... So, what's the matter?
Are you still interested in making a bid, or was that just idle chatter?

Premium Member Dreams Dissolve

You're eager to challenge fate;
with lies disguised as the truth.
And you shield yourself from hate
with the innocence of youth.

Tattoos display anger's mark;
inked with a defiant tear.
And blood badges, crude and stark,
pictograph, a life of fear.

Feelings memories impart
make you want to run and hide.
For deep in a troubled heart,
sadness drains egos of pride.

Hope fades under neon light;
dreams dissolve, and trust erodes.
And friends, ingested by night;
are consumed by hungry roads.

Homemade Stew

A stuffy nose leads to runny nose, frozen toes and thick as jelly mucus
sitting in your chest not allowing you to rest, mucus really sucks because there is nothing you can do but suck on lozenges and say aw nuts -
sitting on the couch all afternoon
watching cartoons run across your living room
listening to geese fly by
thinking is it time to lie down and rest
just take a breath and maybe two.
My lungs feel like they have ingested glue
they huff and puff to no avail
so off to the kitchen I go to warm a big huge heaping bowl of...
touch of magic, toad tongues stew, a pinch of nutmeg, thyme for two - what are some homemade remedies that work for you?

Purple Heart

Morning glowed, Phillip.
A purple fire burned beacon bright
against the stinging stench of napalm.

A thick thistle - two feet from your head,
wordless in speech, watched
with dark misfortune
curving letters of prayer
above your bleeding valor.

A crumpled martyr lying there,
innocent as a schoolboy
amidst the blare of gunfire -
asleep in our country’s eyes
dormant in the arms of an adopted comrade.

I held you - lost brother - tucked inside my soul;
nineteen and breathless.

The tears inside my empty lungs
spilled so softly onto your forehead
as I knelt in the center of August’s cancerous garden;
staring at the mud stained badge
nestled peacefully above your silenced heart.

I slowly ingested and tasted your
bullet-ridden honor, as I was viscerally blinded
by the sickening, piercing strobes
of a delicate mourning's
glow.

The Letter of My Love

Deep inside my peel, you sprint along with my aerated blood,
I'm the only man from Mars with superior gas,
And I'm Tetsuo who has wings to teleport you farther to Venus
I 'm the only knight who uses white magic to shield you where-ever you are.
You, You lay down all my terrifying dreams and blind my inner shadow to silver
Dove I wrap you because you're my Crown Queen.
When my Rib-cage opens, it commands me,
That, you're the only one, with my other spine,
So no matter where you are or go,
There will always be a little piece of you in my heart,
And forever it will be for centuries,
I ingested you with all your Pros & Cons,
So you don't have to be perfect,
I only ask you to be there for me.
May our spirits animate eternally,
'Cause I want you to be buried with me when I pass on to haven,
Either way when you pass on, I would love to be buried with you, it's my wish..
She is incredible,
A Dove always holds an incredible history
This is the Letter of my Love.

All Hail Medea

Mossy vines served as camouflage for a decaying headstone.
The inscription is illegible, but that matters not to me.
At this centuries-old grave I place flowers and moonstone --
As requested by my ethereal savior, friend, lover, devotee.

My first visit to Gravesend was via historical daylight tour.
Another attempted escape from a dreadful loss and daily boredom.
This landmark cemetery predates America by 100 years or more.
Yearning for comfort, I sensed only a dead-strewn auditorium.

Though the feelings persisted, I dared not reveal my plight.
Breaking from the group, I chanced upon a hidden burial mound.
Sitting on a slate stone, a tweeting bird subdued my fright.
Then a silence did ensue -- and a whispering from underground.

A mist ascended in the form of a desirable, raven-haired beauty,
Who ingested my pain and angst, diluting my secrets in oblivion.
Her voice was the sweetness that called my cells to sync-duty.
She smelled of paradise and her kisses raised a dead compulsion.

Meeting clandestinely as the summer turns to fiery autumn-rust.
Medea (her name) asks to be released from her purgatorial strife
By way of dark spells, old magic and a curious blood-crystal dust.
On this Halloween night, I will transmute ghost to fleshy wife!

The ritual begins as most rituals do: serious, focused and grim.
Within the pentagram, Medea fluctuates -- in all her femaleness.
She comes to me warm and steamy. I hear a chorus, a siren hymn.
I'm enfolded in the marvelous lure of a dying-to-eat ... succubus!

Sestina

The lost little Angel was fell into the urban slums
Walking aimlessly with nothing but her broken wings
Blossom into granules of dusts, intangible as a vagabond

Her heaven plucked as the moonlight stolen, the intangible vagabond
Her sanctity made her glowed illuminate those souls who ingested by the slums
However flagellation in disguise filled the story of her wonderful flawed wings

Trace stitches by stitches of her wings
Her world plays deception in those eyes who marked her as a vagabond
In fact she just an imperfect little Angel and they are the slums

Rose from the slums, the wings tore the shield of a vagabond
