Premium Member Hung My Christmas Sock
Hung my Christmas sock
Darned neatly for the mantel
So Santa could leave
Nuts, fruit maybe peppermint
Winter often harshly cold

Never wanted much
Just a big red tricycle
To ride my sister
Around on the long front porch
Red tricycle was missing

Dad quickly vanished
Had owner to open store
On Christmas morning
Santa left...

Tom Mak Hung
We think them plentiful, like jumping shrimp and tiny crabs:
These mak hung, these chilies, the base for padaek.
The mouth waters with even a mention.

Every heart of Laos knows it well.
Cross oceans and mountains, battlefield and basement,
Oz or Kyrgyzstan, Modesto or Nashville, Phoenix or Pakse.

Meet anyone...

Premium Member When Clouds Hung Low
The clouds hung low as oft they do
still I went out to play.
They said hello, as I passed through
a-skipping on my way.
Then in the flow an updraft blew
I got caught in the spray.
I did not know, but high I flew
clouds carried me away.
Both to and...

Hung
Our hearts can't touch, our minds deflect
Absurd conclusions, I'll regret
Breaking up so many times
Your reasons do not rhyme

I think I better off this way
I love you, that's what i will lay
Rupturing my soul, hope that I can
Last breath. . Goodbye. . 'til we meet again

Hung Out To Dry
been hung out to dry
dangling from a clothes line
in the sun to die

thirsting for water
all dried up
in the hot heat

it getting dark
no light to guide
these streets of life...

Christmases Past On Mantel Hung

Christmases Past, on Mantel Hung

Three stockings line the hearth, each one a "tail"
of warm Christmas past, of love
hand-knitted, chewed by pup!

I Hung It For You
i reach for the moon and take it down
i dust it off and turn it around
i find a place above the trees
and hang it back up where ever i please
we gaze in wonder at our new moon
but daylight takes it away too soon
never forget what...

Premium Member Not Famous But Well Hung
In spite of my very simple upbringing
Carved a very good life while dancing and singing
Better than some
Not famous but well hung
Hung up on laughter and gaiety brimming

The Man Who Hung the Stars

March 19, 2023, is a day I will never forget,
You see, that is the day that my Daddy left.

Not in the way you may think.
For he had gone to Heaven in a blink.

I was on my way to visit,...

Premium Member Hung Skeletons
Being hanged
The skeletons drift
In the wind

They died a long time ago
But still remain in a noose

The pumpkins
Have all turned white
Still carved

Evil faces
Are bestowed upon them
Terrifying all

They are wicked in their eyes
Darkness dwells around them

The skeletons wait
As the pumpkins do
For Halloween

Here I Was Hung
I've been hanging here motionless,
for nearly two thousand years,
Beckoning thoughts oft notionless,
Rarely understood, often evoking fears.

Crumpled posture, hands out-stretched,
Cross of wood, marble, plastic, or gold,
Painted, drawn, varnished or sketched,
Infinite forms from the modern to the old.

From attended, polished, in gleeming glory,
To hung, forgotten, and...

The Hung Jury
When he entered the world
They started him off with
Non-negotaible funding
For a sacrilegious plea.
After all,
He'd been through a lot.
Enough to know what
Was good for him.
When he waited for
His turn to reply
Instead of listening
To their speech
He noticed a fellow
Jury member
Nugging at his knee.
What oracle
In all...

Premium Member I Thought You Hung the Stars
I loved you
unconditionally.
I thought you
hung the stars.
You were my
hero. I didn't
know you were
a fake. A wolf
in sheep clothing
preying on the
young and innocent.
You robbed me of
my innocence. All
at once my dreams
shattered in a
million pieces
and the night-
began.Death
made its way into
my soul. I became
a"dead girl" walking.
My...
