Home Is Where the Heart Is
"Home is Where the Heart Is"

Savages
behind closed doors
Civilised
but wild animals
sharpening claws
Humanity
tries to escape itself
can’t run away
from finding
"TRUE HOME"
behind closed doors
Now opening windows
fresh air
escaping shadows
Legs splayed and arms wide
breathe
"LIFE"
in for once,
we are empty vessels
noisy prisoners
in our own skin
Soul...

Home Is Where the Heart Resides
I have returned to my island home . Work has brought me back this way. So much has changed since Irma passed this way. I wander the streets in utter dismay. Gone are the shops and the reefs where I use to swim and play....

I call my apartment (my home) my nest,
with this and that collections and beloved stuff displayed:
Oh, when within my nest I am not stressed,
where my art supplies, books and papers are arrayed;
and it is a place where my soul- can rest.

There is...

Home Is Where the Heart Is Stilled
Abandoned places,where
perhaps memories linger,
with wisps of wafting moments,
aware, somehow, even of the now,
Though long forgotten by all others,
One wonders why, and surely how,
Such strong vibrations of the past,
Seem to time, to have taken a bow...

Gutted building, windows broken,
Creaking, leaking floor,
Last stepped on by the...

Always in black, Fr. McShane
raises cathedral hands and intones,
‘our brother is finally home.’

Absolved of the fight to contain
a lifetime of tears
in this ceremonial splendor

I just have to wonder.

His Nikes are ‘home’
in the walk-in closet,
aren’t they?

heirloom roots dart unto tropical spaces
seven thousand islands stitched by dainty laces
where ripples of meadows form formless
there, lovely women gather milkfish with kindness
of gumamela leaves sun-kissed, peach-dressed.

On tinted valleys, a gathering of eagles astonished;
forests of green brush coconut - combed tresses
and temperate sky...

When the rain rages fiercely
upon the window panes,
through a cold howling wind
sending ice through my veins,
rarely do ever
I feel so alone,
as when missing you here
in the place we called home.

Sometimes it seems
I can still feel you here.
To this old faithful heart
you...

Our houses may be far apart,

But, our love will never be.

Home Is Where the Heart Is
I’m longing for a place that I belong
This need for comfort is constant and strong

They say that home is where the heart is and that’s where I want to be
With all the falling leaves beneath the apple tree

I want to roll around in the leaf...

Ode To Humphrey
The"tail" I have to tell, starts off really sad.
My sweet doggie Murphy died and my heart, it hurt so bad.
Until one day in early spring, I got a call that made my heart sing!
There were some puppies born in Waco, the daddy -Jasper, and mommy-...

Three Days Saved
It's been nine years, I have counted the tears-
they have made trails of guilt
  worried into my heart
then filled with loneliness and bitter despair
but by your grace I have been shown...

For the first time, in these nine years, I...

Soldier Boy
Soldier boy, oh soldier boy
Why don't you hide up those tears?
Hold in your mind those nail- biting fears
March till you drop, sing the marching song
Even though, for home you heart it does long
Don't cry no don't cry
Always care to try
Hold up your head
For death cannot...
