Oh Lord, Our Heavenly Father of all creation
We rely on you in all tribulations of life
Hope you will come down to touch and heal
Our bleeding hearts, for your mercy exceeds all bounds
You cannot turn your eyes when your children sob in agony,
You cannot but mend our torn and splintered hearts
When fears and tensions swivel and rake us
Shaking the very hinges of our existence
Anchor our minds to faith to proclaim with conviction
That you alone are our sole armor and refuge
That in every trial of ours, you will be there by our side
You are the only one who can gauge the depth of our pain
You are the only one who knows our weaknesses
We entreat you to heal our hurts and purge our hearts
When numerous sins and vices tacitly remain
So that we shall shine in your grace and grow in your love
When we stagger under the heavy weight of life
And when no one is around to ease our grief
We see you standing lovingly within our reach
With hands held out beckoning us with assurance of relief
Like a loving father out and out to help his wayward kids
You are the great Shepherd who will never desert his herd
But will come searching for the missing lambs
When our legs grow weary with every forward step
Oh, come and carry each of these staggering lambs
Lend your hand in our tightrope walk, that if fallen
We can spring back and hop, without getting maimed
Grant us true light that we will not grope in dark alleys
We know, the opulence of this transient world
Can never ever fill our hearts or give us lasting joy
It is in Thy love, we find our life’s whole comfort
It is on your shoulders, we want to lower our burden
When the skies are cloudy, when burdens are heavy
Oh, friends, tell yourselves never to feel troubled,
With such a great savior around
When we are lost, He will kindly lead us home
Solve our problems if we partake in His love
And shelter us in his great bastion, day and night

The Good Shepherd
Christ is the True Shepherd
JN 10:1-18
"Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever does not enter a sheepfold through the gate but climbs over elsewhere is a thief and a robber.
But whoever enters through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice, as he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
When he has driven out all his own, he walks ahead of them, and the sheep follow him, because they recognize his voice.
But they will not follow a stranger; they will run away from him, because they do not recognize the voice of strangers."
So Jesus said again, "Amen, amen, I say to you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who came (before me) are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. I am the gate.
Whoever enters through me will be saved, and will come in and go out and find pasture.
A thief comes only to steal and slaughter and destroy; I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly.
I am the good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
A hired man, who is not a shepherd and whose sheep are not his own, sees a wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away, and the wolf catches and scatters them.
This is because he works for pay and has no concern for the sheep.
I am the good shepherd, and I know mine and mine know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I will lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that do not belong to this fold.
These also I must lead, and they will hear my voice, and there will be one flock, one shepherd.
This is why the Father loves me, because I lay down my life in order to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down on my own.
I have power to lay it down, and power to take it up again. This command I have received from my Father." (Taken from JN 10:1-5, 7-18)

Near Lake Fane the sheep graze in thy green meadow.
At ease, ewes are seen nibbling field blades most fine,
where fierce lion's shape may cast no grave shadow
or shows dire snake hole.
For ye make sure thy sheep are made safe these nights
from great teeth that tear meat and brake bones so bold.
And cold stream to lake's made still by side runoff
to hold so shallow.
This thy oak staff's sheep's certain safeguard gainst foes.
Sling's also alongside the oak stave we see.
Thus sheep sleep secure aye beneath huge shade trees
without fear nearby.
New scene speaks of bucolic peace made by night
for those under his care in closed gate sheepfold.
Then he make his fire frying rice cakes, grease beans,
and feeds male collie.

He is the Good Shepherd,
I am the sheep of his pasture.
All my needs are met by him,
So I follow Him- He is my Master.

Afrighted tiny hearts their brand new world....

THE GOOD SHEPHERD
There once was a flock that was lost and afraid
It wandered around without direction for days
But the Lord looked down with compassion from above
And sent a good Shepherd to lead them with love
The Shepherd was kind, loving and wise
And He cherished his whole flock, no matter the color or the size
Though the Shepherd was quiet, humble and meek
Every ear listened whenever He would speak
He showed them the way to walk in the light
And He prayed every day for God to give them true sight
He taught them about the blood of the Lamb
And about the Creator, the great I AM
They flourished and they grew through the knowledge they gained
About the Saviour from above who lived without blemish or stain
The flock was so thankful to the Lord up above
For sending a wise leader who was so full of love
He lead them with a strong and gentle good hand
And took the whole flock safely into God's Promise Land

THE GOOD SHEPHERD
Jesus, precious Savior,
You lead Your sheep along
never raising Your voice to them
even when something goes wrong.
For that would scare Your sheep.
You love them with Your song
as they faithfully follow You
everywhere You walk along.
Without You, they would scatter
with wolves so very near;
they would separate and die,
but Your voice gives them no fear.
You are strong and play the harp
and Your sheep drift off asleep.
Each one trusting in His Master,
for His Master never sleeps.

Dear Lord
You are
my shepherd
Holding out
one's soul
Within open hands
Offering
Unto Heaven
To you
who sits
On the throne
amongst angels
One guiding light
For the sins
of man
who treated
You in cruelty
I am humbled
In your name
most gracious
Upon the temptations
of one world
Bound by
sins of man
In times
of need
I pray
to your light
In battling Hell
You my Lord
A good shepherd

i'd wandered again staring
into streams of livid pools waving
raptures of rushing currents startled
beyond such graveness however tempted
to explore even more than before i'd missed
your pondering about awaiting my dashing exit
away from the flock that scattered sparingly
my temperament craved so much more
why the gravity along led me by surprise
with curiosity and grace your demeanor
seemed to shield my immature nature
calmly beyond a single sphere a certain
chastisement lingering gently between
the stone pavement a white stick hidden
gestures being heard only throughout
the babbling brooks gnashing against
large pebbles into solid foundations
henceforth creating distance an yet forming
a pulley blending mind body and soul into
thrashing madness mingling timelessly chafed
and bruised chanting i'm back

August 23 Scripture Meditations Based on Amos 1-3
Key Verse– Amos 3:12 Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.
MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR BEING MY GOOD SHEPHERD
Thank You for being my good Shepherd and my great King
Who saves me from sinfulness’ sinking…
Miraculously transforming my heart toward spiritual trekking
Thus, I’m heaven-bound with divine making.
Thank You for being my good Shepherd and my compassionate God
Who cares for me despite worldliness’ rod…
Marvelously redeeming my soul through Your blood
Thus, I’m ransomed with adopted status-nod.
Thank You for being my good Shepherd and my gracious Father
Who provides for me when economy’s crises bother…
Magnanimously meeting my needs whatever is the weather
Thus, I’m contented with bountiful blessings to gather.
Thank You for being my good Shepherd and my wise Lord
Who enlightens me through Your Scriptures’ Word…
Magnificently illumining my mind against humanistic sword
Thus, I’m converted with eternal record.
Thank You for being my good Shepherd and my protective Security
Who hides me against calamity’s adversity…
Mightily helping my faith to advance by Your tenacity
Thus, I’m settled with truthful certainty.
Thank You for being my good Shepherd and my radiant Light
Who leads me toward goodness’ height…
Mindfully directing my steps to tread upon what’s right
Thus, I’m guided with omniscient sight.
Thank You for being my good Shepherd and my all Sufficiency
Who blesses me midst complacency’s persistency…
Mercifully bringing my prayer to Your altar of clemency
Thus, I’m filled with satisfied fervency.

“Truly I am the gate for the sheep.
Any who over the wall would leap
would alarm my flock
bring harm like a fox,
but over the fold good watch I keep.”
“I am the Good Shepherd, not a hired hand,
ready to die, a beast to withstand
for the sheep in my care.
For whatever the scare
I know my flock and they me understand.”

Limerick
There is comfort in the arms of the Good Shepherd, His rod secures me like covering wings, but I'm not compelled to stay there, for the gift of choice gives me the strings,
As lovingly He guides me through the pastures, my eyes glance here and there, I'll just slip away a little there's no danger here, I'll tarry a little while yet, what harm can that do, while all the time hidden dangers lurks just beyond my view, further and further I wander from the Shepherds caring arms, deceptive beauty entreats me, so hard to resist its charms, further and further I drift, imperceptively slow the slip,
too late I realize my peril, no strength to break the grip, the squeeze gets tighter and tighter, sweet breath is almost gone, how did I let this happen, why failed I to be warned, casting up a hand in desperation to see what it may find,
a familiar hand reached downward and grasp the trembling mine, ah, back in the safety of my Shepherd's arms, why did I ever leave, you'd think I'd learn my lesson and to my Shepherd ever cleve.
yet time and again I wander from my Shepherd's loving care, and time and again He rescues, and never does forbear, each time the rescue gets harder, sin's alluring grip more tight,
the cry for help gets weaker, lesser and lesser the fight, Oh help me learn the danger which comes with every slide, and stay always with my Shepherd,
never leave His loving side,
take only my Shepherd's feeding,
stay far from forbidden treat,
Oh my soul, thou foolish sheep! tie thee fast to thy Shepherd's feet.

TALK TO HIM LIKE A CHILD
There is a good shepherd,
He knows the ned s of his flocks,
He knows the way to greener pastures,
He navigates the still waters,
He protects his sheep more than David.
The shepherd searcheth every heart of his flock,
The flocks; the hearts of men,
He came down to have communion with men,
He is sure of our feelings,
In our anguish he is there looking at us,
When my plates are empty,he whispers into my ear " Son, i fed five thousand men, what about you?
He is our creator, our maker,
Pour out your heart to him,
For He hears all tongues of the earth,
Cry to him when thirsty,
For He is the living water,
Call out to Him when lost,
He is the way,
He is our Father,
Talk to Him like His child
