Welcome to my ----- life
A beautifully broken aura
             Unsettled flakes
             The sound of yesterday
             Shattered winter glass
Transcend to the unconscious mind
Frozen, dead, yet alive
Hell, escapes my future of eternal suffering
Tiny buttons of snowfall to my feet
Firewood burns endlessly,
The hairs of her soft skin rise like wheat
Shadows by hand flip the hourglass
The possibility of change takes --- need
She stands on the outside of my dreams
Looking in;
Quietly she summons the cold legion
Confused, trying to cleanse her soul
She wipes off old fingerprints

White glitter, forgotten notes
Spiritual spells enhanced in a quiet villa
Shadows of hands toss the glow
Daydreaming inside another dream
Falling flakes in hopes of peace
A warm bedded cabin sits at ease
Observing, breathing, mind settling
Swirling into an earthy feel
Another long downward drift

Shadows of hands set the tide
She awakens, sharing the stars
She mocks the sun, her eyes sparkle
Covered in snow - aging peacefully
She fibers to soothe her soul
She reeks, neither heaven nor hell
Temporary punishment, rattling thoughts
Captured in a transparent globe
Passing through a purgatory world
No walls, no in-between
Falling far from the echoes of life
Sacrificed by death before salvation
Transcending to the unconscious mind
             Shattered winter glass
             The sound of yesterday
             Unsettled flakes
A beautifully broken aura
Depart from my ----- life

Premium Member Stuck In a Christmas Snow Globe Not For Contest

I’m a beautiful angel like you’ll see on a tree
My snow globe plays a carol it is so Christmasy

I’m trapped in this snow globe, I want to get out
I bang on the casing and I scream and I shout

Bobby picks the globe and he shakes it so hard
so the snow swirls inside like it does in the yard

He then casts me aside leaving me on the table
and the kitten stares at me, she is called Mable

Mable bats me around and I crash to the floor
she’s found a new toy, and bats me with her paw

My snow globe home slides across the front room
Then the father treads on it and seals my doom

The snow globe is smashed, water leaks everywhere
And all the snow’s disappeared, oh it just isn’t fair

Bobby’s mother says she’s got a clever idea
I’ll take pride of place on her cake every year

Life In a Snow Globe

Gentle
                                   snow falls softly
                         sailing on a nonchalant breeze.
Angels appear at the behest of playful
children as layers grow on railings and
                        rooftops. Stalwart evergreens
                             sway to a rhythm while
                                the swirling vortex
of flakes smothers everything. Calm hits
and we breathe relief until the next shake
of this globe in the winter that won’t end.

Starvation Rules This Spinning Globe

Starvation rules this spinning globe.
Energy is seized.
While goats and cattle strip the grass of peaceful light,
Vultures shred the organs of disadvantaged game.
As packs of wolves surround the heard,
Eyeing the weak and lame.

Buzzards circle overhead seeking every chance,
To pluck out the eyes of the men who fail to understand,
That he must take life to continue his own.
Those who don’t consume life’s rich plate,
Will fail to reach its end in strength.

Is nature blind to the suffering of the weak?
When so much blood is spilled.
Or is strength built through heartless savagery?
Who would not defend his offspring from cunning man,
Hungry beasts, and the vicious pains of hunger?
Some will say man has risen above such talk.
We stand exalted from the fray.
But larvae will not avoid those with foolish pride.
While lovely worms consume the flesh of broken stride.

Economic Globe of Instability

Disadvantages
Inadequate provisions
Yet substantial waste!

Holly boughs draping from mantel bring cheer;
Christmas lights twinkling on tree.
carolers singing their hymns loud and clear
setting the Yule spirit free.

Fire softly burning as shadows display
dancing like elves on the wall;
cinnamon cider scent slowly makes way
as signs of the season enthrall.

Snow globe on table depicts winter scene,
Christmas of so long ago.
Sleigh ride through forest so still and serene;
lovers hold tight in the snow.

Sitting on sofa with sweetheart so near,
gazing into her green eyes;
toasting the season with cider and cheer,
hoping for ardent surprise.

Season’s gay setting a vision sublime,
like snow globe’s cold wintery view;
wishing this moment was frozen in time
stuck in a snow globe with you.

I AM A CHRISTMAS CLONE

I’m brought to beneath the
Christmas tree every year,
I have learnt to hibernate
Eleven months,
Never shed a tear,
Have one fear,
It’s freezing in here!
I am not quite sure if
I am human or toy,
But know from feeling dizzy
I bring joy.
I must be a clone, for there are
Millions of me,
Beneath many a tree.
I have learnt to cope with a silent life,
Would be somewhat afraid to come
Out to a world of strife!
People talk to me I see their lips move,
They are telling me,
Play your Christmas jingle louder,
They forget I am programmed
And set in a groove.
I want to jump out and join
In the joyous
Laughter and play,
Please don’t pack me away again after
New Year’s day,
I long to touch your pretty face
I see, and hold your hand,
I long to open a present and join
Your merry band,
I see tears of happiness,
You seem so glad,
This should make it worthwhile, but,
I’m sad.
I’m stuck in a Christmas Globe,
But want to see more.
I see children running down the steps
With utter glee,
If I am dropped
My world would break,
Prepared to take
That chance, would I then be free
Will you make
Me a promise, to take
Good care of me?

Premium Member Caught in a Snow Globe

Ivory flakes fluttering down,
Turns the ground into white from brown,
A soft blanket of silver snow,
Kisses from heaven sent below;

It clothes the earth with milky mark,
Has that extra glittering spark,
God rains down blessings floating slow,
Kisses from heaven sent below;

Moonlike little stars in the air,
Frosted fluffs flying everywhere,
Covered in icy crystal glow,
Kisses from heaven sent below;

Melt-on-the-tongue magic stardust,
Diamond dots on the winter gust,
This lacy quilt coats the meadow,
Kisses from heaven sent below;

Frozen tidbits settle on me,
I feel fantastic, feel so free,
Caught in a snow globe, I'm aglow,
Kisses from heaven sent below;

Who else can make this unique thing?
None, but my God, who is The King,
His love in winter, He does show,
Kisses from heaven sent below.

The lines of the glass blur,
the scenery blends
except for that
strange,
semi-translucent curvature.
What lay between me
and my living room,
clear yet an acrylic
boundary to freedom;
as I survey
my post nap situation,
with mortal eyes
I realize...
I’m stuck in a snow globe.
My snow globe,
with the quaint pre-Victorian
house and the sleigh and
snowman
in the front yard;
I’m tiny and my
living room furniture,
gargantuan
as though a giant
resided within my house.
A parallel world perhaps?
No, it’s my world and
at some point between
twilight sleep
and awakening,
I ended up inside
of my own globe.
My it’s cold in here,
oh no, it’s starting to snow
and this snow is not glitter...
what is the Grinch
doing in my Living room?

STUCK IN A CHRISTMAS GLOBE

In my Christmas Globe, I see a world
Where a manger scene is first unfurled
To show the birth of the Son of God
Who walks the path where angels trod

We celebrate His Birth each year
With parades designed to create joy and cheer
But the world just doesn't seem to see
How He later suffered on a cruel tree

Without His birth, the world today
Would be in greater disarray
But through His birth there is reprieve
For everyone who decides to believe

This Child would one day die for them
A death that is so brutally grim
But death and grave could not retain
On the third day He rose to life again

Seated at the right hand of God
And walking where the angels trod
He will return to earth triumphantly
To claim those who chose to believe

And take them with Him so they can be
Alive with Him for eternity
All will be wearing a bright white robe
This is the scene from my Christmas Globe

In the store, I pick up a globe with a beautiful scene.
On a park bench, a couple is cuddling.
Red ribbons and bows adorn the street lamp next to them.
Christmas lights hung cheerily are encircling a pine.
What might this couple be discussing?
What joy might they feel?
I long for the bliss they seem to share inside that globe.

I shake it, and snow sprinkles down so prettily.
Closing my eyes, I hold the globe and shake it again,
seeing the scene again in my mind’s eye.
Then I open my eyes; I’m inside the globe!

Music of Christmas from somewhere is playing:
“But as long as you love me so, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.”
There’s a stranger at my side; he is dark and handsome.
His fingers are twining in and out with mine.
No words are needed; this is the language of love I adore.
I am youthful again, feeling fresh as the crisp winter air,
stirring with dreams and reveling in romance.
This feeling – how long can it last?
I’m stuck inside the Christmas globe.
Should I want to get out?

Suddenly snow is drifting down on me and the wonderful man.
Some entity outside our sphere has found the Christmas globe.
It feels like my whole world is shaking,
but it matches the quivering deep in my soul,
and I know that
                        I do not want out.

Stuck In a Snow Globe

The snow falling intermittently around my little cabin
Covering at times my beautiful tree
The only life I have ever known
I dream of sunny days and flowers poking out of the ground
I know not where these dreams have come from
Nor the memories of waves crashing upon an unknown beach
When I venture too far a barrier I meet
My face pressed up so close my nose becomes smashed
I try to see beyond the wooded shelf my home seems perched
But all becomes a blur of lights of green red and blue
So I stay close to home
The lights bring a melancholy I don't understand
How I came to be here is a mystery that time seems
Not to want to solve
Loneliness hits from time to time
I talk to my tree
She does not talk back which is fine with me
For it does lessen the risk of disagreements
That which I am not fond of
Sometimes I feel I may be missing out
That there may be more to see
I tell myself how silly
I have everything I need right here
I feel neither cold nor heat
Hunger nor thirst
Wait... where did that thought come from
I do not dwell
Though I do not feel tired
I do still sleep
It breaks the monotony
The dreams are of a different time that I don't recall
Like watching a movie...
A man a dog an experiment gone horribly wrong...

Snow Globe Spendor

~Snow Globe Splendor~

A misty fog escapes my mouth
each time I exhale warming my
cold lips
As I breathe a coldness fills
my lungs with a pine freshness

The powdery snow embraces
the arms of each bare tree limb
and each park bench holds a
cushion of frozen flakes almost
welcoming
Icicles hang like glistening diamonds
from the streetlights as the sun hits
them shining

Wraping my arms about myself
to find warmth from the frigid air
I watch as the children race to the
top of a steep hill to ride their new
Christmas sleighs down over
and over again laughing in delight
their noses and cheeks a rosy red

Walking away frozen water crystals
crunch underfoot when my day is
shaken and the snow
begins to dance and twirl silently
falling to blanket my footprints
in a hush,leaving me spellbound
in this Snow globe splendor

Premium Member Want To Be In a Christmas Globe

It was an unusual Christmas week; something was amiss.
The Smithe children felt it as surely as a mistletoe kiss.
It feels magical, like I could turn into a Santa, Joyce said.
Whispering to her brother, a gentle boy named sweet Ned.

Ned felt it too; and wondered about the magic of the snow.
I feel it watching me he admitted, where ever I go.
A snow queen appeared and asked them if they’d like to see
How being inside a snow globe would be…..

They both said they would love it, and for a quick time
Before their parents knew it, without spending a dime
Joyce and Sweet Ned got to see for themselves
What it felt to be in a bubble with a small Christmas Elf.

Eagle, Globe and Anchor

I walked outside today
As I watched the sunrise
I thought of the item that was handed to you
After the crucible
The Eagle, The Globe, The Anchor
I know to you it meant you made
It through the toughest 13 weeks of your life
It means that now you are a MARINE
You learned and trained hard
you proved that "you did it"
But to me it means so much more
The Anchor
Is what holds you in what you believe
It is the strength that will keep you grounded
The Globe
This is for everything you will see, feel and explore
The Eagle
Those are the wings for which you where raised
The wings that will help you soar so far in your life
Because you see my son you have been My Eagle, My Globe and My Anchor
Since the day you were born
