Snow Globe

Snow globe: a frigid, spherical womb,
dream-dusted in darkest December,
mothering the snow-smothered life within.
Shake and shatter the plastic confine,
break the incubator's glass coffin.
Stare into the resulting blizzard:
snowdrifts of memories mounding and settling.

Charlotte, when you write, you express your thoughts in a way that could mean so many different things. Like Tommy, I'm seeing the loss of a child here, in someway. This is deep and emotional. Congratulations my dear friend, on Poem of the Day. My best to you. Hugs, Brandy

So wonderfully spoken with your signature, poetic artistry, Charlotte. Your ability to craft images, "dream-dusted," "snowdrifts of memories," is highlighted in this delightful poem. Indeed, snow globes can be guardians of memories. Congratulations on your POTD. So deserved. Best wishes for the contest. Hugs and blessings!

It resonates that memories are so like snow stuck in a snow-globe, sometimes in your face and other times settled - the harsh and sweet together. This is so beautifully written and with heart - soft sounds and words mixed with stark contrasts (the k sounds), and ending (for now) with snowdrifts...

Dear Charlotte, congrats on POTD! It feels like you’re opening a tiny world and then suddenly zooming way out to something much more human and raw. I love how you do that. Wonderful! Autumn Blessings, Dear Charlotte, Daniel
