A rainbow glitters
in the sky.
And by a wild rose,
flies a white butterfly.
And birds on a bough,
in the early morning sing;
as if from Heaven,
a symphony they bring.
Sunny yellow dandelions,
the color of your hair.
I quickly catch my breath,
as if I see you standing there.
In the rainbow,
and the white butterfly,
in the wild rose,
and the birds in the sky,
what is it about life,
that I love so?
Are you still here, Son,
Did you not really go?

Elegy
They thought he was a harmless fool.
His hair dyed black
And eyebrows pencilled in,
The silver outfits -
Shoulders huge -
And platform shoes.
His lyrics less than lyrical,
Chanted, shouted
At his concerts;
His hits always played at parties.
A has-bean humoured,
Perhaps patronised,
His antics tolerated.
But Gary Glitter had a dark secret…

I-mage is just misleading,
S-ome things appear so nice;
A-ll that glitters is not gold,
B-eauty deceives our eyes.
E-verything that glitters is not gold, things might look worthwhile;
L-ater we shall find ourselves dismayed without a smile.
D-ay six October morn
I-n our view is a calm river;
A-nother zone of serenity
S-ilences those talking louder.
A-llow not eyes to judge a thing,
N-either new one nor old;
T-ry to sense the inner part,
A-ll that glitters is not gold.

Acrostic
Soaring into the air,
strafing the clear blue skies
traversing land and moutains high,
the eagle flies, a bird of awesome size.
It's wings, huge bellows trapping air,
send tiny creatures into spasms with fear.
Stooping low, talons drawn
scoop up unsuspecting prey
an innocent hare out to play
then lays its find in a nest on high
food for another day.
Birds in the air tremble and roll
at the flap of its mighty wings
that slice through currents of air,
a powerful force on course
to a distant shore.
Silent like the wind that blows,
the clouds that float,
it sweeps the highs and lows
a haughtier bird we'll never know
nor witness allure so rare.
With feathers of winking gems, illusive hues
teased by playful rays of the sun,
It streaks accross oceans deep
turning waves into defensive ones
that hope the eagle will not stay
but continue on its merry way.
Despite it all, man can only
stand in awe, so rare,so wondrous a sight.
With oohs and ahhs he stands agape,
transfixed by a beauty untold
yet remembers too the sayings of old
All that glitters...is not gold.

Atomic number seventy nine,
A precious metal that sure does shine.
Sought by many, claimed by few,
Prospecting was the thing to do.
Found and used in all forms of life,
Sealing the bond with my dear wife.
It is noble and so versatile.
Some is visible when I smile
Symbol Au, from its Latin form,
Aurum, meaning shining dawn.
Used in food, E one seven five.
Olympic aim for which to strive.
A brilliant alloy, carat by measure.
Worn by ladies, gives them pleasure.
Lots of jewellery, plenty of bling,
Some find it attractive, that’s the thing.
Given to Jesus by three wise men,
A gift to treasure now as then.
Please remember what you’ve been told,
All that glitters is not Gold.

Fame fades like flowers
Fame makes all things glitters
Fame attracts parasites to you
Who will want to milk and use you.
Fame doesn't make you more attractive
It only describes you like an adjective
Fame makes you feel like a super being
And makes you lose your being.
Fame can make you feel lonely and dark
Like an abandoned Manson aback
Fame turns you into a façade
Which is unrealistic and unfair.
Fame wants you to be perfect
But your purpose do you project?
Fame makes you lose your right to being private
It automatically turns you into everyone's date.
Fame gives you what is temporary
And makes people see you as extraordinary.
Don't be too carried away
Fame fades.

I am a book
with a cover of glitter and gold
an object of pure admiration
a character that's bold
a glamorous entity
a star about to unfold,
but you cant see through me
and my story is untold.
If you took off my covers
then what would you see
my page of black and a soul
that's not free,
bound by threads they captivate me.
The early chapters of the tale
depict an inerasable past,
chiseled out by misfortune over
which sorrow is cast,
so, to cover up the pain I wear
my glittery mask,
it's so very easy, I smile
and make the smile last.
But when I trow away the covers
that I so craftily mould,
and forget about my mask that's
worn out and old,
and cant find all the warmth in a
race that's so cold,
that will then be my rebirth and
my story retold.

All that Glitters….
The stars have left their mark
upon the sapphire blue of night.
Bits and pieces part, glimmer, glitter
a shattering of shards
Shaken from the hollowed kaleidoscope
of moonlight and comet tails~
from the exhaustive flight of jet contrails.
Darned are the remnants of gloss tickling
against the omnipresent prism…
Twist, shake, and scatter, these tantalizing delights
Upon the cheek of morn
Upon the noon tide and oceans wide
Bits and pieces part, glimmer, glitter
a shattering of shards
caste from
the sapphire brim of heedless night.

While on my way to Golden Town
I saw a man outside in tattered clothes
He looked so tired and weary
His eyes we’re so sad and teary
Though he looked right at me
I swear his eyes looked beyond
“Good Sir, “ I asked, “are you alright? “
The stranger did not respond!
“I’m headed down to Golden Town, “
I expected a response to this
But he did not utter a single sound!
I was greeted with apathy instead
“You’re wasting your time, “ he finally said
Everything that glitters, is not gold
Somehow it turns rotten at its core
Trust me when I tell you, it’s all so temporary!
I gazed upon the Golden Town
Conflicted by all of the lights
How could a town be so crooked and dark
When the outside shone so bright?

Glitters
So we wander,
with the enormity of the silent universe.
So we surrender,
to the disrupting lines of nature's verse.
Away we fly with the converging horizons,
aback it takes us like the flowing turf.
As the demons, we fly,
over the mighty heap of silvers.
we always have a chance,
but we barely can reach the silent rivers.
The flight to the hill,
brings a surge of strange Mesmer,
and indulged are we,
to the glimpses of glitters.

Treasures hidden in plain sight
Where all the world can see
Search and you can find them
But they never come for free
Sometimes it is worth paying
Treasures that have a price
Friendship is not just up to fate
Don't just roll the dice
Love is a lovely gift
But it is both taking and giving
Love is not just an idea
It is a reason for living

Cold
North wind
Drifts dry snow
On mute meadow,
Stacks flakes in frozen branches, fir trees bow.
Night sky bends low, in northern light it glows
Holds sparkling stars,
They descend
Lights up
Life.
Joy
Glitters,
Air dances
On tree of life
With the rhythm of carol sung from heart.
Christmas jingles bell for New Year to start
Happy times wait
Mind grows hope
To love,
Loved.

Tetractys
In shadows cast by neon haze, A world unfolds in modern days,
Where screens dictate our hearts' desires, And connections fade amidst the wires.
We chase the rush of fleeting fame, Yet yearn for depths we cannot name,
Lost souls, seeking solace and light, In this modern dance of day and night.
But let us pause, in tender embrace, Rekindle love, restore life's grace,
For in our hearts, the key resides, To find true joy as life collides.
